I'm an Endomorph. As a former football player, I've been trying for the longest to lose body fat. However, trying to find the right plan for me never worked out. The only thing I know so far is to use more cardio and less weight training. My goal is to lose weight, get back to the 200s (I'm approaching 400 lbs.) and tone up the muscle. The aches and pains of my weight are annoying and scary. I've had two surgeries on my left leg, due to my weight.

Same, I always thought I was a mesomorph because of my height (6ft3) but I can gain 25lbs in two weeks when I just eat whatever I want during the holidays. My weight goes from 205 up to 275 in no time. And the older I get, the harder it is to lose fat. Also, I am not that fond of doing cardio. Good luck on your weight loss journey bro.

Do you think he will be man enough to go away, look at the research that debunked this, then simply apologise for misinforming his viewers and then just update himself on what is right? Being wrong is always fine as long as you are in pursuit of truth and just trade out what was wrong, for what you now know to be correct. I saw his reply to your video, and it had the same feeling as anyone who replies to criticism, lash out and defend ones claim, rather than to objectively review whether what one said was correct or not. But that's just my "2 cents on the matter" ;)

I’m in between Endomorph and Mesomorph, 63% Endomorph and 38% Mesomorph. So I find it *kinda* difficult to lose fat but can pack on more muscle then other people can. My training should be weight lifting and cardio based training *i got this off a website, I just did a test and these are my results :P*

Back in the early 90s, my father, a life long gym rat who dialed in his physique in prison, bestowed upon me discipline, a stack of 80s flex magazines, and to his best knowledge a way to build a respectable body...what most would consider “broscience”. Ppl have built impressive physiques with debatable theories on how to get there looong before the internet made everyone an expert. MJW, in all his OG glory, is sharing with us, out of love, his old school understanding of how shit works. My dads assbackwards way of muscle building worked for me. Even if it’s not 100% accurate, there is always something to learn from the old heads. Mind you, they come from a time when men were men and boys stfu when grown folks was talkin!

This is a good introduction! Just keep in mind that with the three body types, you can actually have a combination of those to form a type unique to the individual. For example, one could be an ecto-mesomorph and so on!

Michael. How am I doing. Before bodybuilding. I'm 18. 6 foot 1 inch. 240 pounds. 27% bodyfat. American 14 wide shoe size. Very wide shoulders. 15-inch arms. 3 months of bodybuilding. I have doubled the diameter of my Legs. I have added 3 inches to my Neck. And Arms are 16 inches but have far more muscular definitions. I am still growing taller and have only been bodybuilding for 3 months. So I believe I can become larger than even schwarzenegger naturally. I have gone from 44 Jean's in 2022 to 34 Jean's. Today.

If you're shaking your head at this, know that you'd be on a spectrum if you were to take a look at what you are. I'm in between an endomorph and a mesomorph. I have broad shoulders, and muscle shows first in my upper chest and shoulder area. I also gain both fat and muscle quickly. I used to call myself "dense" because when I'm 200 pounds, you can't tell. I look ordinary at 200. If you don't believe in the three body types, then we can at least acknowledge that bigger framed bodies will develop differently than smaller framed bodies. I don't agree with every single thing Greg Doucette says, but I believe he's right about this as well as Jai White.

Anyone who has trained with different sports any length of time knows there are the 3 basic body types separated mostly by skeletal structure, to people of similar height will have completely different builds if one has a significantly wider clavicle width than the other, the smaller framed individual will likely excel at endurance type sports the larger frame at strength...that's not "bro science " its common sense and it plays out in the world of sports.

Zephyr You I realize coaches globally use body type to choose who gets to be in eat sport and majority of the time they are correct in their choices? An endomorph will never be swimming gold medalist, just as an ectomorph will never be wrestling world champ. Body type is even used to determine which position you get to play in sports that require a certain body type in each position. Very few NFL linemen will be ectomorphs and very few running backs are gonna be endomorphs. Rowers ave to be a certain size to fit in the boats and be powerful enough to keep rowing in relàtion to their body size. Gymnasts overwhelmingly ar mesomorphs or are a combination of ect and mesomorphs or endo and mesomorphs.

What so many people don't cover on this topic is no one is a pure ecto meso or endo. You usually are a mixture, you will only know for sure when you train. For example, I look like an ecto but put muscle on rather quickly ....but my body gains fat easy I'm carb sensitive . However if you look at my photos from my early 20s youd think I was a pure ecto lol my Bart Simpson belly disagrees . Fun fact building muscle is hard for everyone . Even as a mesomorph you will plateau and have to figure out how to train and eat to overcome it. Go to the gym, train and learn what works and what doesn't . Once you do getting an aesthetic physique Will be rather easy.

IDK I just been super skinny at 6 years old Till that age I've did a surgery on my neck cuz there is something there makes it difficult for me to eat I removed it and boom I started to gain weight massively When I was 9 years I reached the pinnacle of 154cm and and around 50 kg - 57 kg So when I reached teenager years I started doing simple training ( push ups with plank and running 3 km a day ) And boom I started loosing fat over the years it wasn't that difficult Now I'm 16 with 177 cm height and 60/65 kg What body type I am ?

Hey Mike, I know you took umbrage with the video response made to this post a little bit ago so let me give you some context. It's the somatotypes ... or the three body types of you're talking about here. It is a thoroughly debunked bit of pseudoscience that channels like Vshreds are currently using to fleece unsuspecting an unwitting people just try to get in better shape. That's why you're being called out on it because guys like Alan feel like you should know better. If you don't know better I highly recommend looking into somatotypes. The science regarding the three body types, mesomorph endomorph ectomorph was based on really really bad science unrelated the fitness. It's been regarded as controversial and untrue since the thirties. You might not like the form of criticism took, but it's valid criticism. I really hope you look into it. A lot of people look up to you and will just accept anything you say as some sort of verified fact.
