Just a quick tip, please don't refer to an F1 as a student. They have completed medical school, they have done their medical school placements and are now working at a Junior doctor. Yes they are pre-registration but they are not a student.

Hi! What did you wear to your work experience, did you take a notebook with you, and keep it with yourself the whole time?
@ManishaP8 жыл бұрын
Hi there! So I wore quite smart clothes, my sixth form uniform code is 'smart and professional', so nothing different to school. Although saying that there were some Medical students also doing something similar to work experience and they just came in jeans and a smart shirt, so I'd say smart casual is fine. I had my phone and notebook with me the whole time, from ward rounds to surgery, so I could make notes on anything new. Hope this answers your questions, feel free to ask any more x

I have no clue how to get some work experience, I missed my chance last year as I didn't know I wanted to do medicine, and I just hate myself now. I am in year 11 and literally have no clue.

I like your video.. so many useful information x) I have a question, do you think doing an internship in an occupational therapy for 1 month abroad in a developing country to help others can be relevant for med school application?

I just started yr 11, and I'm really worried about getting my work experience and applying for universities, as I heard from older friends it's really important to start work experience early so I have the time to study and revise for A-Levels. Anyways so I went to around 40 Pharmacies asking to get work experience, and most or them said that they don't do it, but I finally found a couple of pharmacies and they asked me to bring in my CV. So if you have any advise about writing CVs or letters, can you please help me out ! and which would you recommend and which Is better for medicine students, Pharmacies or Hospitals ?! Thaaaaannnnkkks. and keep it up I really find your videos helpful.

hey manisha..thanks for such an informative video ..I'm doing GCSE and also hoping to do medicine in the future..do you have any book recommendations or anything I can do to prepare myself for medicine and also a level chemistry and biology ?
@ManishaP8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The book that I was reading during my work experience was Hippocratic Oaths by Raymond Tallis, it's super insightful about the NHS and also gives tells you about the truths of being a doctor. For a level chemistry and biology, maybe read up on the course over summer, not a great deal is required. However I'd advise taking every test seriously from the start of the year and making notes of small topic tests and this will ease the stress at the end of the year x

Hi Manisha! Thanks for the video!! When you talk about having to wait around and trying to keep yourself busy at those points in time... would you suggest bringing a reading book? If not what would you suggest? Thanks!! P.S Have you got a place at medical uni yet? xx
