@NormalCredit-217 жыл бұрын
@Zachatilla That's for the motor? Pulse Performance N/A quad rotors start around 70,000. granted those are modified and made using all new parts, but still... For a quad rotor, that's cheap. But to my point anyways: That's just for the motor. Now triple to quadruple your price and you've got a 26B powered RX. This isn't a high end V10 or V12, which are rare but in comparison to a 26, shit even a 20B, are like your dads dollar store V8. This is rotary power, and rotary spelled backwards is "Proprietary and prohibitively fucking expensive". 100,00k is a generous understatement for cars such as this one, and Formula Seven's.
@itsMC4117 жыл бұрын
Logan Tanner why does formula sevens sound different with the pulse performance engine? Defined’s reminds me of my Yamaha r6(from the front & flyby), and formula sevens has a different tone. I just watched his new video ‘JDM cruise’ and wondering why. Logan feel free to chime in also.
@UBIQUITAR8 жыл бұрын
Question... Has buying the 4 rotor eccentric shafts become more obtainable as far as actually being able to build these motors. I personally have seen that as the most limiting factor was cost for the engine goes. Do you think this is a fair assumption? I mean how expensive would a 4 rotor NA at 500hp level cost today?
@GTORx78 жыл бұрын
The eccentric shaft is not hard to get, I can sell you one. The difficulty is all the work putting it together, machining etc. Assembled shortblock 500hp is $28k

What is it like on the street, regarding torque and powerband? Is it difficult/annoying constantly keeping the revs up to move? I know this car wasn't exactly built to have great drivability on the street, but how bad is it really, and do you think the enjoyment factor outweighs it?
@GTORx78 жыл бұрын
Avery Buda , it is surprisingly tame on the street. I've had a couple friends hop right in and drive without issue. The torque is very wide with a good chunk at 1500-2500. Even shifting at 3500 will leave street cars quick. the real fun starts at 5500 though, feels like a hit in the stomach after that.
@GTORx76 жыл бұрын
Requires no revs to accelerate strongly. Makes a good chunk of torque even at 2,000rpm. The enjoyment far outweighs the annoyance in my opinion. Anything above about 40mph and it will cruise smooth too. Below that a little left foot braking to keep the slightest load on it and its butter smooth even at 25mph. All in the technique, not for everyone but such a joy for sure.

Fellow Traveler , sure mine is 1,3,4,2. Same as the 787b or 792p. I believe ppre uses the same order.
@Endisupertramp8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The firing angles are equally split I presume, with every rotor firing at 90° angle away from the previous, or? Would that make the 13B fire every 180° and the 20B fire every 120°? Still trying to wrap my head around how the firing angles and timing are done in rotors, there is amazingly little about it online.
@GTORx78 жыл бұрын
Fellow Traveler you have it exactly right. Easiest way to visualize is each rotor= 2 cylinders. 2 rotor =180 degree 4 cylinder, 3 rotor= 120 degree 6 cylinder. My 4 rotor actually is setup in the computer as a waste-spark V8.

Easily. A stock naturally aspirated rotary goes 130-200k miles. This one going to such high rpm is much more stressed, but uses ceramic Apex Seals. They virtually never wear.

It was assembled and finished in 2012. I believe it was the first fully u.s. built 4- rotor. Hard to know for certain, which is why I say "one of".

Ahhh yes but will it pass California Smog? :)

gav240z , California is such a pain for that!

Logan C yeah thankfully I don't live in CA, but live in Australia which has similar strict regulations. I can't imagine getting 4 rotor through emissions / engineering testing here. Unless it was tuned to pass the test but I have to be honest I haven't even looked into what the requirement is. It would probably be easier to stick 1 in my S30Z as oppose to my FD3S because an older car has less emission regulation.

Seriously, id die happy from the smog of this sound... If they wanna control the smog, control the useless 200HP V8s that drink like it was open bar, and still never get anywhere. ;)

Of course! Just make sure you backfire enough to overload the smog detector. And drive away while they are scratching their heads wondering why it is spitting out errors :D
