I found that most of the Nether portals dropped me off in inhospitable places with no roads, so just ended up going in the overworld instead. Eventually I found an interesting side path and went along it, seeing a lot of abandoned but not useful structures on the side of the road. As I went on it became more and more well-kept, and eventually I stumpled upon a fully functioning lemon farm, harvested some lemons, then replanted some! I kept going, and after only a couple more kilometers, I even found someplace with (mostly partially harvested) trees. I'm still not done going along this route, but so far, I think it has been a better experience than trying to go through the Nether. The server was a lot more hospitable than I expected, without using hacks too. After only a couple of hours, the server restarted, which is a shame, because it took me a lot longer than that to get in in the first place.

The server is already multiple terabytes large due to how much of the world has been explored, and thats WITH anticheat. Imagine if everyone was speed/flyhacking around, it wouldn’t be possible for the server to keep up. However, its not against the rules to find a way around these anti-cheats, so if you can, you’re allowed, its just really hard.

Anti cheat exists so that people don’t Elytrafly at 8000 blocks per second on the Nether roof and fastload chunks, crashing the server. Yes this actually happened and it’s why Elytras we’re disabled for the longest time. Now they’re back but with a speed limit.

I didn't use portals my first time and walks out to 50k. Next time I tried a portal at 5k out and seemed to have worked well to get me out on the highway. I would probably avoid portals until about 5k. Going in portals closer than that is really risky.

Well you have to appreciate that even after all these years wurst still works, is supported, has no backdoors and actually isn't that bad. Of course in pvp it's not that great and it lacks some features other popular clients have, but it's still a great client, and considering it's age, its almost as old as 2b2t itself, it really aged well.

fun fact : theres an entire highway going 33k-ish out from spawn that’s absolutely lined with melons. if you can get to it without dying its great to go to the end of and collect melons along the way. put a stack or. two in an e chest if you see one along the way, if you die you’ll still have some melons to get out of one of the millions of e chests scattered around spawn

Quick tip to escape portal traps: You can interact with blocks close enough to you while in freecam. Freecam out of the portal and break the obsidian. Alternatively, some hack clients have a mod to enable chat in portals.
