I have lived here in Vietnam almost 3 years and even my friends that have lived here over 10 years complain about how the independent western mindset has started to spoil the mindsets of traditional Vietnamese women. More and more women are choosing careers over marriage in their early years which is fine for them if they choose that. But so many cant fathom why men dont want them the same when they are 30+ years old. Literally look around Vietnam and you will see thousands of beautiful women in their 30's and 40's absolutely gorgeous but still single or single with kids. Vietnamese women have always been labeled as hard workers but now they are hard workers for themselves and wasting away the very thing most men desire....youth and beauty! I have lived overseas for 16 years and generally Asia is behind the US in many trends and movements and this is no different. There is a huge sugar baby culture in Vietnam and now with feminism starting to get stronger here it will only make the traditional family life more rare in the coming years. The girls in the videos said they are single because they are waiting for destiny, they are single because most women are focused on careers more then finding husbands now. (The students said it themselves)

If men can feed and work hard for themselves then why can't women work hard for themselves? Why do you want the nonsense thing called marriage? Fuck this conceptual shit called marriage and all the marriage. Men and women can have casual hook-ups and they can still stay independent and both genders can achieve great success and fly as much as they can.
@thethaovatoquoc312 Жыл бұрын
That's maybe because many men don't treat them well, as extra-marital affairs have been rampant in Commie Vietnam, and wife-beating is a common scene. There is a reason why "Cafe om" and shady bars, restaurants, barbershop, and massage parlors have been extremely popular there, to satisfy the sexual needs of unfaithful married men.

a lot of vietnamese guys are fboys, so it's tough. A lot of vietnamese women have to find older guys 5-20 years older than them, because they are more serious. I married my wife when she was 25, but we met when she was 22 after she just finished college. I prefer the younger ones because they carry less baggage and their fertility is important if guys want to have children. There's plenty of cute girls like the last one in this video around that age

When I was around Vietnam a lot of boys that I’ve seen would be at cafes drinking coffee and smoking but I then realized they were 14-15 years old hanging out with their buddies. Men cheating and having second gf’s is very common and a lot of the girls know that. I met my wife in Vietnam and she’s told me every one of her past 5 bf’s except for one, has cheated on her with 2-3 other women. It’s gotten to the point where it’s almost to be expected when a man cheats.

In big city, most people get married late because they want to be financially independent first then get married at late 20s. But some people may have a traditional families and they want their children to marry early. But now some people marry too early because they think married after 30, your body shapes will change when you got older, and it also hurt your health and their skin problem. Also, LGBT in Vietnam has become very friendly now, they accepted same sex marriage and public will see it as normal. In small villages, some families asked their children to marry when they reach 17/18 because they are still stick to traditional mindset. But nowadays in villages, people tend to let their children graduate university then married after have a stable job, if they don’t have a job, their families will let them married and will give them money to start up a business. Still, some of young children especially girls have to suffer from marriage at early age, they couldn’t say anything but have to accept it (but this is really rare nowadays).

Of course the main reason why homosexuality is either promoted or suppressed by any society is ultimately the birth rate and the sex economic index. The media and government of any country can subtly influence human behavior to achieve a balance in the birth/death rate. Notice that in the era of WWI/WWII and most world conflicts, there was little promotion of homosexual behavior. During the Vietnam War, I would assume that homosexual behavior was suppressed. Now that military conflicts are at the lowest level in human history, and the world population is increasing dramatically, it would make sense that governments would have a vested interest to increase abortions and decrease the birth rate, while raising the birth rate for males, or to import foreign male labor, which can raise productivity and sterilize males by overworking them.
