I actually met Mr. Burroughs at an all American tournament in 2013 - the summer before my senior year in Vegas. I can completely 100% certify the humility, charm and grace of this gentleman. He not only allowed my teammates and I to interrupt his day with questions, he also took the time to take pictures with us (I still have one with him that is my favorite to this day). I can’t stress enough the positive impression he left on all of us, being as humble and kind as he was while being an Olympic gold medalist wrestler.

Wrestlers don’t care. It is a fraternity and once the bug gets you it is over. Toughest athletes in the world. Something about the sport is addictive. My sons wrestle and it is like eating. It is part of their lives. I have not met too many jerk wrestlers, but if you see them out as a team it is like piranhas, just scary and best to be on your best manors. Just something different. Again, nice as can be, but not arrogant. Football players out together can be bullies, but wrestlers are real killers and just have nothing to prove and people can just pick it up.

My favorite part of watching the Olympics are the early heats of the 100 meter dash. Every country is invited to send at least one athlete, whether they qualify or not. Many of these countries that are only sending one athlete (think countries like Nauru and Palau) have them compete in the 100 meter dash. After all, it's quick and you need to expensive equipment. These sprinters beam with pride. It's so fun to watch.

This dude is so composed and together. You can tell he knows how to handle himself in a fight because he’s literally got no anger or insecurity.
@whyumadtho3553 жыл бұрын
Yup. Most guys with no fight or wrestling experience feel insecure when their in a room full of other guys. Being one of the greatest wrestlers of all time will probably wipe away any bit of insecurity knowing you could handle yourself pretty much anywhere .

You do realise when you’re training for 1-2 years for the Olympics then you can finally rest after the event of course you’re going to have junk food and the best is McDonald’s. It’s like studying for an exam then after the exam you’re not going to continue studying you’re going to have fun and actually enjoy life.
