To be a real man you have to have maturity. Maturity is when you can put aside your personal feelings and wants, in order to do what is right and necessary, for the people in your life. It means making personal sacrifices and being in control of your emotions and taking on other peoples burdens. It’s in doing the tasks that you don’t get recognized or thanked for doing, and sometimes get in trouble for doing, and still doing them because it is right. It’s in making the hard decisions when no one else can or will. It’s when you give instead of take because someone else needs it, even if it means losing out on something that is important to you. It’s in finding balance between taking care of others and taking care of yourself.

This made me cry tbh. At 24 years old and as a male, I’m teaching myself how to be a better man because my dad wasn’t there for me. I grew up with him, but he never was home and if he was he was beating on my mom or on me/my sisters. I have some fussy memories of good times with my dad but they blend together with the bad. He chose money over us and though he owns a few businesses he lost his family/us in the process when the divorce happened and he kicked us out of the house. I don’t know what it’s like to have a male figure in my life and it’s hurting me. I need a man to show me how to be better and I love my mom, she’s gone through so much for us kids, but I don’t know what a male role model looks like and I want to be stronger for the woman I promised I’ll marry someday. To lay next to hold and hold her close… I’d do anything for that feeling.

Hey man, I'm 26 Last year, my dad's new girlfriend reached out to me and convinced me to visit him. I don't even know how long it's been that I've seen him before that. I kept giving him chances, way too many but that time: It was decent, this year I did it again, it's better. Also more stuff behind the scenes but that's not important. He was always a fucking disappointment; disrespectful, violent, drunk, loud, dismissive, short fused, not to your father's level but I understand you in some way. I swore to myself to take him as an example of how NOT to be and let me tell You are a man right fucking now. Keep that mindset you have right now, expand on it, and I will confidently say: You are a fantastic, determined, beautiful, strong willed man. My father could only dream about being you at that age. And never fucking doubt that again or I'll find you and kick sense in your ass. Love you ❤

A real man is one who takes care of others, especially kids, wife ,parents. Working, fitness, jogging etc dont make you a man. Its struggling against the world while still being mentally and physically strong and happy, while 99 percent of people dont care about you. Its about sacrifice of yourself for the benefit of your family, kids and others. Staying strong even though the world is trying to put you down.

Spitting straight facts. It's always been and always will be Family first. Anyone who doesn't understand that is not a man. There's a line in Godfather that always hit me: Don Corleone: Do you spend time with your family? Good. Because a man that doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man. Sure it's just a movie and a script, but even as a kid the truth of that hit me.

So right now, I'm financially can't help anyone. I still dependent of my parents and the people around me. what should I do? Quit college and grow up perhaps. Or finish college (but it probably takes another 3-4 years, I'm a freshman). So I mean do I take care of my family now or take care of them later?

Yeah, right, man Recently, I was so inspired by this man, but with some of his ideologies, it didn't feel as if it's the person I want to be, but with some, I do agree. So yeah, if inspired by someone, it doesn't mean to do whatever he is doing or only think the way he is thinking and rejects your own way of thinking. It's just that learn from it and try to find what's wrong with my current way of living and fix that.

Being chill, relax and self care is as important as hard work. Love and appreciate yourself first or the ones who love you will lose you because you neglected yourself

My husband's kids are disgusting and he never raised them. His father did. And thought he was better than his own son. Undermined him at every turn. Son is a predator of children and disabled. Daughter is now a son with no idea who, what, or why. Dropped out of college to appease a "mother" who you could not pay to take her own kids. And I'm finished with this Freak show and couldn't have my own because of his family. When the assaulter is coddled and excused put my physical safety in jeopardy...Not to mention put other children's lives at risk with that Inhuman Monster. Goodbye and Good Riddance.

For example, my definition of a man is • One who does NOT cry • One who does not smile • One who does not laugh • One who stands up for themselves • One who has financial control • One who stands up for themselves • One who always working double shifts, holidays, and/or weekends • Does not celebrate any holidays or his own birthday • Is resilient to pain • Is not mentally weak • Does not talk to nobody at work • Knows how to groom himself • Doesn't give a fuck what other people think about him
