The cause for your tinnitus has gone. You are left with a layer of activation which is still resonating in your system. This can be directly helped with hands on body-based therapy. Every kind of tinnitus, all aetiologies can be helped with hands that settle the local places of activation in the body and bring the whole system out of fight or flight and lower the adrenal response in the nervous system

hi Julian I'm finding your videos very inspirational. I've had ringing for a few weeks now and have changed my diet and am practicing relaxation techniques. I've always been a very nervous person and affected by stress and really hope to get out of the fight or flight mode and settle my system. thank you :)

Still there. I know it is a process as I have been on 'high alert' most of my life due to childhood and life traumas. I go for weekly cranio-sacral therapy, am trying to add more yoga sessions to my daily routine, I have given up coffee, have started to give up alcohol and sugar. I am reading Dr. Wayne Dyer's book "The Power of Intention." This book has opened up my eyes as to how negatively I have been living my life and how God (Intention) is there for me to tap into, to connect to. I was taught that as a Christian, but Wayne Dyer presents it in a unique way. How you think and live is what you attract to your life. I am kinder to myself, to others. As Julian says, tinnitus is a barometer of your health. I am peeling back the layers slowly, but surely. I will report back here as things get better. Also, I do not go on any tinnitus forums as they tend to be so negative and people have so many opinions. I don't want to hear how people are in agony. I want to hear positive things. This is why I like Julian Cowan HIll's videos.

Mary Russell Hi Mary, is your craniosacral therapist well versed in tinnitus like Julian and others? I live I Maryland, USA
@maryrussell662

I don't know if she is well-versed in tinnitus, per se, but she is a good cranio-sacral therapist. It has started backing off if I also do the other work Julian recommends - yoga, tai chi, no sugar, salt, caffeine. I slide back into old habits and suffer for it. I feel pressure to repay people for having us over for dinner by having them over and it stresses me out so much and I wind up not eating as I should. I have seen that when I do what I am supposed to do, my nervous system starts to settle. Do you have a cranio-sacral therapist? I totally believe Julian and know that this condition will go away. I read his books, even his latest which delves into his life, and I have not doubt that he had tinnitus very bad and has overcome it. I know that I will, too. I live in North Carolina in the USA.

Mary Russell Thanks. I’m in the 1st chapter of Long Tide to Silence but was wondering if I should read the From tyrant to friend first. I read the free short book. I haven’t put much effort into all of this. But I’m reaching a point where I want to do it right. Currently recovering from hernia surgery and not being able to move much makes the t worse for the most part. Keep it up and keep in touch

Julian do all cranial sacral therapists know how to work with tinnitus? Is there specific places they need to address? I have had tinnitus for over 5 years and having a spike. I am so hopeful after watching your videos. I just ordered your book as well.

I have moderate hearing loss in my left ear but sometimes it feels as though it’s in my brain. Would this therapy help this type of tinnitus. It came on suddenly after a bout of stress. I was aware of some hearing loss before this bout but did not have tinnitus before that stress episode. Thanks

Where can I find Body based therapy

My tinnitus was triggered by a root canal back in October and resulted in SCM syndrome in my neck and a soreness in my jaw (TMJ). I think it is also exacerbated by the PTSD and anxiety issues I have had since I was a kid. I have had some success through massage therapy and physiotherapy but it rarely lasts more than 1-2 days. I know I can find a way if I can reduce the overall stress. I'm going mad though as it seems to always come back in the morning and i'm struggling to lower stress as I wake up in a panic as a result. Do you have any suggestions on reducing it during sleep/morning so I can focus on health without the constant stress?

Thanks so much for the videos. Two questions: 1) Is there a good website for help in locating a craniosacral therapist? 2) Do you know of anyone whom is doing research on the connection between the nervous system and tinnitus? Everything I read seems to say, "you're screwed, get used to it."
@JulianCowanHill
@JulianCowanHill 8 жыл бұрын
It is straightforward fight or flight response physiology. Compare waking up after a nightmare to falling asleep at a party. A tiny creak on the landing can make you jump out of your skin - in the first, whereas a loud noise with music, laughter and squealing doesn't impact you at all. Do you need to do research to prove that your hearing is more sensitive after a nightmare than happily asleep and ignoring masses of noise in a party. This is a fact but it is hard to prove scientifically as it is subjective and cannot be measured accurately. Saying you're screwed is just a lack of understanding how tinnitus works and is highly damaging for people.

+Julian Cowan Hill Thanks for the response. I've really found quite a bit of hope in your videos, where at first I didn't have it. I've learned to settle down and continue to live my life. The tinnitus is still there, but there have been days when it's been surprisingly quiet. I've drastically changed my diet, eating high quality organic food, lacto-fermented vegetables, and cut back on beer (which makes the tinnitus scream, for some reason) and caffeine. I'm getting there.

I spoke to a craniosacral therapist and she told me she and the members of America Craniasacral Therapy Association have agreed that craniasacral therapy works better with low pitched tinnitus. Success rate with my high pitched tinnitus is low.
@JulianCowanHill
@JulianCowanHill 5 жыл бұрын
I have had a lot of success with high-pitched tinnitus. Why on earth should CST help one pitch and not the other? This makes no sense. The central issue with tinnitus is that the Central Nervous System is not filtering out sound that it normally would. When we feel deeply calm, safe and relaxed background sounds high pitched or low pitched are inhibited.

Dear Daniel Please watch this playlist. You may find it helpful. Tinnitus is a temporary situation. If you follow my advice the prognosis becomes really good. If you want any further support I can offer skype sessions or hands-on if you are near London. I can also help you set up a support network and care plan for yourself.
