They used benchmade tools to chops up a bunch of guns. A lot of people in the 2nd Amendment community (big overlap with the knife community) declared Benchmade anti-gun because of their actions. They have had a PR nightmare on their hands ever since and their sales numbers are down.

I'm actually carrying my Grizzly Ridge. Sceptical at first, but all its features complement my deck work on towing ships phenomenally! Show the ridge some love next time you're talking Benchmade because it's also a fantastic (albeit situational) carry! S30V for that salty water and edge retention when cutting synthetic rope materials, grippy anti slint handlematerial for max grip even when wet or oily, high visibility orange accents to spot it more easily in the dark or when dropped. the recurve really gives a solid lever effect for a deep initial cut, and twin jimping if you really need two fingers on the blade saved me some valuable time as well. love it

My favorite Benchmades are the 630 Skirmish and the 635 Mini Skirmish, followed closely by the 710 McHenry and Williams. Both are now discontinued ☹️. I do like the Anthem and the Super Freek, but I keep hoping for a Skirmish Flipper in m390 or a full titanium 710 😊.

I live close to Oregon City and the story we have heard is that the firearms destroyed were used in crimes and were never going back onto the market for ownership. Benchmade is the only manufacturing plant in Oregon City that had the equipment to destroy the guns. Benchmade has been a big supporter of the Second Amendment and private gun ownership. Guns and knives go together as we all know.

@Hunter Thomas They donate to staunchly anti-gun politicians. They also helped some of Oregon's tyrants destroy guns. It's profoundly short-sighted on Benchmaid's part: just ask our British cousins. If politicians get rid of guns, knives are next. Ask Londoners.

So crazy that the bugout is popular. I bought one and returned it to the dealer. I do have 2 940s though. Love them. One is for when the other one goes back to Benchmade for sharpening and spa service. No way I'm gonna mess with it when they do a perfect job. I think the bugout would be great for a 30 dollar knife...like a spyderco Byrd Meadowlark 2 or something. Anyway, that's just me. I'm done, happy, my 2 940s will last many decades for me.

My favorite is the Bedlam 860sbk. It was my first knife and was a gift from my girlfriend when we first started dating because she knew i had a crush on the knife. 3 years later we are still together and this knife is also still here.

Most challenging knife I've ever sharpened. The phaeton. The steel was so soft it just didn't want to hold a decent edge. Told the customer to send it back because the steel was so bad
