I love how people will criticize Elon for not meeting his target dates. He says he will build a rocket ship, and it takes longer than he projected. Then we watch a rocket ship take off, and then watch the booster land on a barge out in the ocean. Meanwhile the people who complained have invented nothing!
@nobodyfromnowhere35974 жыл бұрын
Robert Hadden First time he missed his mark that should raise questions but once he actually got there time to pay attention cause hey he maybe missed with projection but he still got it and it was not a small feat that he promised and yet in the end he delivered just take that into account next time you invest in a guy.
@718EngrCo4 жыл бұрын
Nobody From Nowhere I agree! He sets aggressive goals to push his people. If he said it would take 10 years to build his rocket, it would take at least that long. That’s why Boeing is missing with Starliner. They started with an obvious advantage, and ten years ago pretty much all the experts would say SpaceX didn’t really have a chance of beating Boeing to a reusable manned capsule. Now it looks like Crew Dragon will be the first to the ISS.

They postpone anything and everything because the ‘one reason to live my life’ isn’t found. I forget who said it, some psychologist, but they said we should just do stuff and the path gets revealed gradually. Most of us end up doing thing we never predicted. We can just “do stuff”, as long as we avoid decisions that tie us down forever (like early impregnation, mortgages, white collar crime, ten year job contracts, drugs).
Most things don’t matter, that’s why people aren’t motivated to do hard work.

While I’m no Elon Musk fanboy, it’s obvious to everyone how successful he’s been at things mainstream people said were impossible. I was raised in MI and automotive is *everything* in MI. I can’t tell you how many auto pundits laughed aloud when Musk started Tesla and claimed they’d offer an electric passenger car with range of 300+ miles. They said he was a fraud and asked who could this guy with zero automotive experience create something the Big 3 have failed at time and time again. Well, now Tesla isn’t just an electric automobile manufacturer, they are THE electric automobile manufacturer. Without Tesla, there’s be no electric cars coming from the Big 3 or Japan. The same with SpaceX? Lest we forget: Jeff Bezos Blue Origin was started 2 *YEARS* before SpaceX and BO has developed a single engine rocket that might be capable of putting a satellite in orbit? SpaceX has already launched their 2nd generation heavy lift vehicle, Starship and will likely launch the largest, most powerful rocket ever created before year’s end. The hyper rapid development approach that SpaceX employs yields tremendous dividends and it does so QUICKLY. The whole “Let’s just do it and see what we learn?” approach SpaceX has employed to develop both Falcon and Starship has allowed Starship to nail its landing on its third attempt. It’s an old fashioned approach to prototyping and I’m not sure why we don’t use it more often. This is how old school inventors like Tesla & Goddard discovered how to do things. Computer simulations can only provide so much data, practical tests will always be necessary. Elon Musk is no “fluke”. He has a proven record of success, which makes it abundantly clear why SpaceX was recently awarded the Lunar Lander contract from NASA.
@Limpass610 Жыл бұрын
Exactly, to me Elon's whole notion is "Let's just aim, FAR, and see where we land." I dont think he thinks he will achieve the things he said he will. I think he is hoping that, when the guy who has the capacity to do it decides to do something, he atleast will have the notion that this ( eg mars) is a possible target. Bars are being set too low in my opinion
@Young.Supernovas4 жыл бұрын
Joe is wrong about the difference between himself and Elon Musk being essentially genetic. Math and science are just like comedy. Or podcasting. Or music. Generally speaking, if you work hard and have genuine passion, you can get good at any discipline. It takes real dedication, so any one person needs to pick their battles as far as what they really care about. But in a parallel universe, there is a genetically identical Joe Rogan who sucks at jiu jitsu and knows quantum physics. People think the more analytic pursuits are more unobtainable than they are - when I tell people I study math, they go, "oh, I could never do that." It's like, yes you could. I've poured hours into it. That and only that is why I'm good at it. - dude who knows some advanced mathematics

I for the most part agree with you but in Elons case i do think his brain is geneticly better then other people. He is a 1 in 7 billion human. You know in history we got the einsteins the teslas, thomas edisons. I think when its all said and done a 100 years from now Elon will be in history like these guys but probably greater then them. Passion and drive etc plays the biggest part but this dude is truly built diffrent.
@Cepheid_2 жыл бұрын
My physics professor told our class "some people are born Einsteins or Newtons, the rest of us have to work hard". I agree, most people could learn advanced mathematics or physics if they worked hard at it, but people like Einstein are the heavyweights. They are in a different class. They have some natural talent that everyone else doesn't have _and_ they work hard. I don't know enough about Elon but I do know he works extremely hard and doesn't burn out, which might be a gift or extraordinary reliance.

andrew mamo yes, the universe is vibration. With the proper knowledge one can connect to all parts of the universe. We are ALL ONE. Everything is connected. A beautiful symphony of vibrations. We can do this with our minds, remote viewing, clairvoyance, intuition, past life memories etc. everything is recorded in our DNA and we have access if we try. Those whom do not wish to resonate their vibration with the ALL (parasites, ruling class, whatever you want to call them) use technology outside of themselves for everything. We are ALL ONE, those whom wish to ignore this and live in their illusion of self ( myself and most of us have at some point) feel disconnected from ALL. This very feeling is what keeps our perception separate.

Lex, I think you are adorable and inspiring. Those little faces you make, the raspy voice, the sort of advice you give, it comes from a deep place. Why do you say that you don’t have a family?. The minimalistic way of life with the healthy eating and exercising is an excelente combination. Something it is there for you to be so open and these videos from a year ago are more about you and what you are trying to find what you don’t have figure out yet. You wanted to create or being part of a new way of living starting from gratitude is the key. Still, I feel you have something in you, a pain, an absolve issue, maybe from childhood or trauma that makes you start this podcast. Maybe, just maybe, as most of us you are also seeking for the someone special that will be part of your live. You definitely have all the qualities and the interrogations for a new way of living and a company that will ad to your projects. And just adorable with that way of speaking … you have a super young soul or you have had a incredible people on your life to help you form this person that you place on your podcast. Cheers my sweet Angel
