The sound design in this game is amazing. The paint change sounds, the little pings in the main menu, and I dont even have to mention that dopamine spiking sound that plays whenever you take down an opponent. Add an amazing soundtrack on top of that and the vibe was, indeed, incredibly strong with this one.

This was one of my favorite games of all time. The best part was on the Xbox you could add your own custom soundtrack that played with each race. Made it 100x better. I hate the burnout soundtrack so this was the best part.i didn't like paradise nearly as much because of the map system that had me going in the wrong directions and I didn't like thar you could no longer steer your wreck. No more crash mode

Burnout is one of my favorite examples of when the "old games are not good, it's just nostalgia" argument comes into play. After trying out the latest NFS games with few recommendations from friends that "it's totally arcady... I promise" I got bored really fast with the open world, stupid and unneeded story and apparently there were actual charters.. I think. All things I don't give a F about and the gameplay was shit. Man I’m just coming back to watching videos about this game, I was 6 and nfs underground 2 was my first game and I remember finding the demo of burnout 3 in the game and fell in love. For Christmas my parents got it for me and I also got the first game of underground with it to play and I’m thankful for these games best memories of my childhood for sure staying up late to play them for sure the best games in my book with burnout being number one. Road rage is the most addictive thing you could play in burnout 3 and from the explosions, crazy crashes, cars etc. The crash mode was the most challenging of them all and I was dedicated to getting all gold medals in the game so I did just that proudest moment I had fs. I would pay to have a game like this again or to play on the new gens

this is the game that took 6 year old me's music taste, threw that shit in the dumpster, and changed my goddamn LIFE. even ignoring how absolutely fun this game was (which, why would you? this is still a phenomenal racing game almost 20 years later) this soundtrack aged AMAZINGLY. literally a "who's who" of post-hardcore and metalcore TITANS from back in the day, and some of their greatest songs both back then and in hindsight. eighteen visions, atreyu, motion city soundtrack, yellowcard, from first to last, jimmy eat world, fall out boy, my chemical romance...i know people who, even now, say that if it wasnt black parade that got them into mcr, it was I'm Not Okay being in this game. if any studio ever makes a spiritual successor to this game thats the one element i hope they keep faithful to this game; seeing a new generation of kids experience this type of hectic racing while listening to bands bringing that sound back like seeyouspacecowboy, static dress, or kaonashi would probably be the one thing that gives me hope in such a dark world

Honestly, I never enjoyed crashmode that much. I would do it every now and then just to cause some mayhem. But my favorite mode was road rage, I just loved taking down other the other cars and seeing all the cars deteriorate instead of being completely fixed was awesome. In addition we actually get to listen to the awesome soundtrack of the game
