INFPs are usually reactive as opposed to proactive. We take a lot of things in stride, but there's always something specific that will trigger that unexpected response from us.

Yeah. Those things are the exceptions rather than the rule. Sometimes people can characterize our type way too much by the exceptions rather than how we are by default most of the time. There are many people who will never even see that side of us because they will simply never trigger it, or see it triggered.

I have yet to see the INFPs in my life being proactive 😂 The most they do is initiate a wholesome project/company and very soon get bored. Then other types come help or order them around, pushing them to be in the reactive position again. I have always wondered if I would be lucky enough to behold them really fighting hard for something for once. It would be such a sight.

I see INFPs who pursue careers/financial security proactively, I’ve known ones who follow their dream very proactively, or plan public social/artistic events (often with support of those they involve of course), I’ve lived with ones that are proactive with housework or gardening, depending on the person of course, but when it comes to most/other things in life…Typically I find they are quite reactive, or what I mean is, more of a responder in the present, than a planning ahead type (just the P over the J preference)

@@piriyaj1347 depends on the project. Once we get into an authority role, we end up getting bogged down with functions we hadn’t considered at the start of the project. We don’t want to be the authoritarian which we could find ourselves needing to be. We don’t want to break up conflicts. We don’t want to make all of these nitpicky decisions often leaders do. I became a teacher because I wanted to share wisdom, but I hate telling kids to put their phones away everyday. I hate ordering supplies that might or might not get to class on time. I hate breaking up fights over pencil stealing or who was in line first. I hate having to reassert myself everyday and fight with attention to the screen. It was not what I thought teaching would be, but leading can be all of these things. Also, sometimes leading is persuading others to do something they expressly do not want to do. It’s not something an INFP wants. We want to inspire.

Hello, I'm an INFP and thinking back on my life, this makes a lot of sense. Story time! I love theatre and did tons of shows in high school. But my worst experiences with it came from having bad directors and bad backstage environments. I've worked under several condescending directors who would always push me to the side when casting. I'd always be an extra, even though I knew I could do so much more. I believe that they did this because of the INFP invisibility thing. They didn't take the time to give me a second thought because I was never loud or flashy or charismatic. As soon as I realized that I wasn't being treated with the same respect and consideration as my peers, I was filled with so much despair and rage. All anyone ever told me when I called attention to my problem was "There is no small part," and "Just be the best extra." So I was the frickin best extra anyone could possibly be. I internalized and paid attention to every note, even if it wasn't for me, and I *made* people notice me for my skill. I built my acting abilities up so darn high that by the time I got to my senior year (and I finally got good roles), I always got people telling me after the show that I looked like a completely different person onstage. They were really surprised when my energy exploded. I have never been so determined in my life and I couldn't imagine how much damage I might do if I used that determination for something less than moral and right.

Oh my goodness, the INFP one... so accurate. A lot of the time when I get frustrated with something/something someone has done, I find myself thinking, "well I'm going to do X thing better than that!" and find myself wanting to dedicate my entire existence to doing that thing as well as humanly possible. Especially because I struggle with comparison. Seeing someone else do something well just makes me frustrated and want to be as good as possible at that thing. Sometimes I've even found myself thinking stuff like "Well, I'm going to live more intensely than you!" And I always had no idea why. 😂

As an INFJ mother to a 21 year old ESTP I’ve had to “get over” my severe worries when he 1. Bought a mustang that goes 160mph 2. Told me he was camping six hours away at the Lost Lands concert for five days and 3. Basically makes any spontaneous decision to do something I consider death defying hair raising and extremely high impact adventurous. So in order to contain my (silent, unspoken) high stress I turn to my teenage ESFP son who is always happy and makes me laugh, as he senses I need it. So we play Minecraft together to unwind… until my teenage ISFP daughter bounds in the room screaming and starts her drama bomb feelings speech on how everyone she came in contact today hurt her feelings and how she now hates everyone, including me. (5 minutes later she’s giving me a hug telling me she loves me and resorts to her bedroom to paint.) 😟😩☹️🥸🙃 This is all happening while my ENTJ husband is at work and is oblivious to anything that’s going on in the household. Because he’s too busy working. Building systems & being bossy. 😂

Believe me, after you've seen enough of the "same shit", you'll also get the attitude not to expect too much. I suppose it takes years in experience for INFJs but this little mental shortcut will give you much more comfort simply not to bother with something you can't directly change and be more accepting of reality. This is not to say we shouldn't go for change - just not to burn out in the process but having a more realistic outlook on what change is possible. And, that's actually for everybody, don't try to change people, they need to want it themselves in order for it to work.

The more you rein in the idealistic "noble, virtue, and for the greater good" side of yourself, the more successful you will be in life. As an idealist through and through, nothing could be better for us than stop worrying about the world, the climate, the poor, the this that and the third. Just focus on yourself until the time is right, and you will surely be able to accomplish the things you've always wanted to, the stuff you were born with, that innate virtuous side of yourself. INFJ is already good at virtue, good and noble; no reason to keep focusing on that part, focus on weaker areas.

I am a super socially awkward INFJ. I always found myself very strange. When I was young, I was bullied a lot, and I was always conditioned to thinking it was me there was something wrong with. That it was because I couldn't 'read' others correctly, and had low social skills. This is probably why I have social anxiety in the first place. But looking back, I actually do understand peoples energies. I never realised exactly what it was until I learned about MBTI types. Looking, both in the past and the present, I often choose to 'override' my instincts about others. And every time I do that, things seem to go wrong. But every time I listen to my instincts, I tend to be right. I think the bullying made me super insecure, and sometimes unsure what to do with the energies/moods I am sensing in others. I understand it, and often 'feel' it myself, but I don't always know how to respond in the moment. (I guess I didn't get as much practice growing up). But I think I did use some form of 'manipulation' going up. Mostly to manipulate adults to think I was more responsible than I actually was, to get more freedom to be alone. And I will admit, as a young adult, I lived in a dorm with someone targeting me. I thoroughly enjoyed manipulating in return (only after a year where I tried every other solution, and it just kept getting worse), seeing him so confused and irritated, but not quite understanding what was going on. I prefer not to manipulate others. But I have to admit, torturing cruel people (when nothing else works - It have to get really, really far out for me to get there) does give me a lot of satisfaction. I am currently trying to understand how to avoid drawing these people to pick me as a target in the first place, so I don't have to feel all the anger and pain that comes with it. And I can just be happy, and have positive relationships with those around me.

As an ISTJ, with a lot of people who are probably ISTJs in my family, I can attest to the thing about knowing the rules so well that we can exploit them. Typically, at family reunions, my Dad and I organize a series of miniature Survivor-style challenges, and people in my family are so notorious for finding loopholes in the rules that we've started typing out documents, outlining all the rules for every challenge in excruciating detail, as well as adding a clause that any "loopholes" that are clearly not how the challenge is meant to be done will be considered cheating, and that the facilitators (my dad and me) have the right to make discretionary calls about cheating (just in case there are still some loopholes in the rules that we didn't think of)

8:25 I would say that this is just part of the reason INTPs are dangerous. What makes INTPs dangerous is usually their drive for progression, and just how little power authority figures have over them. If you stop an INTP from progressing, they won't take your word for literally anything (they'd rather be dieded than listening to you for any longer). So, the video isn't wrong, it's just missing the exact point of why INTPs aren't the *safest* people to be around in that moment of time. 😌👍

I would argue that what makes an ENTP "dangerous" is their Ne-Ti-Fe-Si Shadow Mode flip to Ni-Te-Fi-Se. This usually happens when an ENTP is majorly stressed out or when someone deeply hurts/wounds an ENTP, and they go into "destroy" mode. As an ENTP 5w4, I've been there before. We think of clever ways of taking out someone's reputation, humilating people who hurt us, and intimidating/scaring people. Raoul Silva from James Bond's "Skyfall", Edmond Dantes from the "Count of Monte Christo", V from "V for Vendetta" and Satan/Lucifer from the Bible are examples of what happens when ENTPs are wounded or hurt. We will take down whole systems.

When you started explaining the ISTP. I was agreeing with you points very closely. My career was dependent on me seeing problems within systems and figuring out not only where it went wrong and what needed to be done to correct it but where it would go wrong if not corrected in time. I always saw myself as a troubleshooter, catching things before they blew up in your face or mitigating the disaster that has already occurred. I guess if I was of evil bent, knowing how to fix on the fly means understanding weaknesses and knowing how to push it over the line.

@@FlamingCockatiel I was an Investigator for the FDA. It’s just not floors, walls and ceilings. It involves in depth analysis of processing systems. Case in point - I came in to a soy milk plant recalling product because it was contaminated by a toxic cleaning compound. Two filling lines were adjacent to each other. Both being serviced by the same clean-in-place (CIP) system. The computer system allowed one line to run while the other line was cleaned. Going through things slowly, I found the valves operating between the production line and lines carrying the cleaning solution were rated at a lower psi than the pump for the cleaning solution worked out. I found failures in the computer program as in what triggers an alarm. A big part of the INTP’s potential dangerousness is also their drive to progress all the time, allowing one with enough personal work behind him to, for example, go past its social weakness, construct a set of natural-like evolving personalities for themselves, and eventually become a skilled manipulator. This can be generalized to a lot if not all subjects, where the INTP’s sheer need to learn and better themselves allows them to become a figure of authority in many domains. (It being quite the natural sequel to the INTP’s natural rejection of external authority, preferring its own mind’s)

As an ISTJ this is 100% accurate. If I ever want someone to get into trouble because they're going on my nerves, are shady people in general, etc., I'll use my vast knowledge of the rules against them. I'll spot any single detail they're doing wrong and call them out for it until they can't take it anymore or face the consequences of their actions. It's like the next level of "stop hitting yourself!" and there's nothing they can do about it because I have all the facts and don't break the rules. But with great power comes great responsibility. I really dislike this kind of thing because I'm not interested in making enemies. Therefore I only do it when I tried to reach people several times and it doesn't work and I know that their actions cause direct or indirect harm to others. If you're not on my hit list and I know you're reliable, I'll be much more forgiving and just give you a friendly warning

I think the thing that might make INTPs dangerous is their attitude towards authority and rules. Sometimes those rules or authority might be there for a good reason, and a stubborn or dumb INTP might still ignore them in their pursuit of their interests, or out of curiosity. Overall I wouldn't consider us to be a dangerous personality type though, I'd consider the dominant Se and Fi types as the most suspicious.

Though in theory INTJ could be like this, in action I think they may overthink and get things wrong xD At least that’s what I would probably do if I really am a INTJ. May need to retake the test. But I think it’s right.

INTP here: The most damage an INTP is most likely to do to you is in using logic to doubt and question every irrational belief you hold dear. This may be a different variety of dangerous but it could factor in: Unhealthy INTP’s can fall very easily into nihilistic mindsets, where nothing matters and everything is just the sum of its parts. This mindset could lead to destructive behaviors. I.E. the antagonist from “Everything Everywhere All At Once”. (Willing to blow reality itself up to see what’s it’s made of or to prove (insert INTP concept) or just because they HAVE to know) The comment about INTP’s views towards authority (potentially being dangerous) seem on point, though I’d be fascinated to meet the INTP who actually does something harmful towards that authority. I personally find that my rebellion is passive AF. If logical pushback doesn’t work, I’ll say “ok” very nicely but then not obey and sometimes even feel compelled to do the opposite just to establish my autonomy, even if it’s just to myself. So yea, INTP’s are certainly low on the “danger to others” list, probably most potential comes from a danger to self? I know when I’m really stressed I tend to REALLY not care about taking care of myself, isolating, etc.

True as an INTP I'm mostly passive and personal. Tho i do have the urge to do things out of "why not" curiosity, but my biggest motivation to do them would be huge rage. XD like so massive it broke my apathy. Where all i can be curious about is seeing someone destroying themselves, then I'll act like an INTJ :v

Frank, my man, I think this is my favorite of all your videos. And I've seen 99.99% of them (approximately). I got you. Digging the FJ on some ho poop vibes.

Nam bro the danger with INTP is when they see the social ladder as a puzzle and you and ppl as experimental subjects, just think about having an intj and infj hybrid...Its over. Pushing Ti to the limits.
