I think about it all the time, my twin sister and I have conversations talking about our experience and how much we wish we could somehow experience those exact feelings and emotions again in the same way. We truly will never forget what it felt like to watch it in IMAX, having no idea what was going to happen, the beautiful masterpiece we were about to go through. Extraordinary it was. Lucky we were♡.

Actually in the “Mountains” the rhythm is 42.58 bpm every ~1.4 seconds a tic and if you do the math, 42.58 bpm = 2,555 bph (beats per hour) and there is 2,555 days in 7 years “Seven years per hour here. Let’s make it count.” That means every tic symbolises a day past in the earth (Alp uçar have mentioned this 3 months before me I haven’t seen the comment credit to him)

Entertain The Elk if you were able to watch this movie in a true IMAX theater, or Dolby Digital Atmos theater, the music itself was in certain cases better than what was going on on the screen. It was almost deafening in certain parts, but considering the emotional impact they wanted the movie and music to have, it was very necessary. I actively seek out finding music by Hans Zimmerman, and Alan Silvestri, and John Williams.

"When they arrive on Miller (the water planet), this track starts to play. A prominent feature of the track is a constant ticking. I just timed 60 seconds of the track, and there were 48 'ticks'. So, each 'tick' interval is 1.25 seconds. "Every hour on Miller is about 7 years on Earth" There are 3600 seconds in an hour, and (86400 x 365.25 x 7) or roughly 221,000,000 seconds in 7 years, giving us a conversion factor of 221,000,000/3600 ≈ 61400 seconds which pass on Earth for every second spent on Miller. Times this by the interval between each 'tick', and you get 77000 Earth-seconds, about 21 hours. So, each 'tick' you hear is a whole day passing on Earth." -u/baronarcher (r/interstellar)

About the second scene: There's also a ticking clock preceding the docking scene where the crew literally tries to *Diffuse the Bomb* by racing Dr. Mann to take control of the Endurance and/or depressurizing everything. They fail of course, which heightens stakes and tension to the followup scene. I'd argue that _that one_ is the most tense scene in the movie actually.

Luckily Dr. Mann got himself killed. I honestly hoped he'd die in a more painful and brutal way, but... Anyway, I agree, that it's the most tense scene.

I couldn't agree more. Mountains and Coward get their due respect, but STAY is the track that made it's corresponding scene one of my most memorable theater experiences. The way that it evokes both awe and wonder of the unknown (venturing into outer space) while also casting undertones of sorrow and longing (leaving your daughter, family, and home planet behind) is incredibly powerful. Not to mention how the immense build up literally culminates in a rocket taking off. Interstellar has got to be Hans Zimmer's best work.

@originalflimflam

Why do you think it's mediocre? Personally I think it's Nolan's best -excluding Momento- because it's the only one of his films driven by emotion and a key relationship as opposed to an intellectual action movie such as Dunkirk. I mean arguably Dunkirk has an emotional backbone- but no where near to that of Interstellar in my opinion. But anyone you're entitled to your own opinion, I guess I kinda just defeated the purpose of this comment but because I spent five minutes writing it I'm gonna post it anyway haha.
@sparkles7560
@sparkles7560 6 жыл бұрын
*sierra_aviator* If you’re talking about that short story of a father leaving his daughter that Nolan gave to Zimmer as a guide, he didn’t lie to him. I actually think the main point of this movie is the father/daughter relationship with the daughter waiting for her father (hence this touching soundtrack, compared to other space-based movies, and that notion of time passing by) so Nolan knew what he was doing.

What a great nuance! It's the little things like this that makes Interstellar my favorite film of all time. Saw it 4 times in the theater! Yeah, I was gonna comment the same thing. Although, there's one thing missing. In between Coward and No Time For Caution is actually Imperfect Contact which plays when Cooper and Brand flies behind Dr Mann toward the Endurance (basically once they're in space) and plays until Dr Mann destroys the airlock, transitioning right into the chorus for No Time For Caution.

@TheChuckers123
@TheChuckers123 6 жыл бұрын
chiffmonkey that wasn’t the case for me. Maybe it was different for me because I’m in the US? But I preordered the OST after seeing the film. And I had all the tracks no problem. Including “No Time For Caution.” However, the version of “No Time for Caution” that’s in the OST is different the theatric version because the climax in the OST version is strings while in the film it’s an organ. So maybe that’s what you were referring to? But yeah the song that plays during the docking scene is “No Time for Caution” watch the scene and listen to it. It’s pure beauty.
