This show was so good that people are still salty about cancellation more than a decade later. Also situations like Harry keeping Gwen in an emotionally abusive relationship (don’t leave me or I’ll go back to drugs/kill myself) are very adult themes. You know I'm honestly surprised that since the launch of Disney plus there has been no attempt to start a new marvel animated universe with new animated series that are actually good. Honestly it's about time we get a new X-men animated series and even a new Fantastic four animated series. Or even a Doctor Strange animated series would be nice. Edit: this comment was made months before the renewal of X-men the animated series. I just want how Marvel games have a non mcu approach and that works for their universe because they aren't limited to what characters are available. I just want the same thing for an animated universe completely separate and not bound to the mcu for creative freedom.

A theme I noticed with this show is the theme of loneliness. One of the biggest examples is how he’s the lone superhero. While Spider-Man has some allies and Peter Parker has people he can rely on, as far as we know, he’s the only superhero against numerous supervillains in this universe. There’s no S.H.I.E.L.D. no Avengers, etc. He has no one to truly relate with, to share the burden of this double life. And while people can give him advice, it’s not the same as being mentored by Fury, Stark, Rogers, etc. He has to learn to keep it together on the go. Yet he does it anyways.

What really annoys me about this show is you could see where they were going He was going to rescue gwen from Harry but in the process destroy any prospect of romance, mj was probably going to discover his secret on her own and watch him and understand how great of a guy and hero he is by sacrificing his happiness for the city and fall in love with him, then he'd later find out and like her and the Last season would be spent developing their relationship but nooooooo. They canceled this masterpiece in the making... God

Something I think is worth mentioning is what happened to The Batman. The whole show was a pinnacle of what kids shows can/should be but it’s also notable that there was a visible difference in quality in the first two seasons and the last three, a trend that I think we’d all hate to see happen in spider man. Again, I love both shows because they’re amazing but it’s good for thought.

I remember two students who bullied me in middle school and I did nothing about it. Then one day, while on my way to my highschool, I saw those two students again and hated them to the core and tried to avoid them. Then I happen to run in to them despite trying to avoid them and they said hi to me. I was about to curse them out and talk shit at them but instead I swallowed my pride and just said hi back and said great to see you. I can never bring myself to talk down on those I hate so much because I always go by this psychological need to always do the right thing and show respect to even pieces of shit that don't deserve it despite me being shit on. It's hard. It's stuff like this that why I love and relate to Spider-Man so much.

@Alexandre Frauches Although supposedly Greg Weisman and the rest of the writing team did not have plans to kill off Gwen in the show, I don't think she would've ended up with Peter Parker at the end, as Weisman himself said they had plans to flesh out Mary Jane's character and establish a romantic relationship between her and Peter, as that was how their relationship in the comics was tackled, and the show took major inspiration from the source material, so over time, it became clear that the two shared a powerful bond. While I do like this interpretation of Gwen and wouldn't want to see her go, it just seems irrefutable that she and Peter may not have been destined to be together on the show. Weisman said that he would've had Mary Jane and Peter in college and their relationship would've begun to blossom, with them eventually getting married in the long-term (although that remains to be seen). I can also assure you that this is all quoted and verified by evidence, and I really hope that this didn't rain on your parade, as it was not my intent to cause you any disappointment.

@@johnhargrove5268 Sure dude Sure. No problem. While I don't have a pitch for Martian Manhunter, Hal Jordan or Superman, I do have for Wonder Woman Wonder Woman Act 1 - After a brief opening telling the readers the story about the amazons, how they were create by the gods to protect humanity but, due to men's prejuice against them, Hyppolita and the amazons isolated themselves from the world in the island of Themysciria, where the queen gave birth to Diana, a clay statue that was giving life and power by the gods, the movie would showcase the pilot Steve Trevor being manipulate by Ares to throw a bomb at the Amazons island. Despite being able to figure out the villain scheme and prevent it, Steve would land in Themyscira and being found by the amazons, who interrogate him and discover that Ares is acting in the Men's world. Diana would go against her mother's wish and would win the contest to decide who will be the choosen one to go to Men's World and stop Ares's plan, reciving a armor and the lasso of truth, forge by Hephestus. When she and Steve arrive at Washington, they are both arrested. Act 2 - With the help of Steve's friend, Liutenant Etta Candy, Diana and Steve are allowed to go free, with Steve taking Diana to Julia Kapatelis, a archaeologist who helps the amazon adapt to the men's world, including teaching her how to speak the english language. Diana would also become friends with Julia's daughter Vanessa, who acts as little sister to the princess. During a day in the mall, they would be interrupt by a explosion in a bulding nearby. Diana would go investigate and would come across a blond gorgeus woman with wings. Without any warning, she would attack the amazon, forcing her to defend herself, until the Steve and the police force the villain to leave. It would be explained that the mysterious woman is Silver Swan, a terrorist who has been attacking goverment facilites and buldings as response for the USA intervention on the kingdom of Kaznia. If this attacks continue it could cause a war between the two nations and the countries that support them. After doing some investigation, Diana and her friends would discover that Silver Swan is actually Helen Alexandros, ballet dancer who always overlook by people due to her homely appearance, which caused her to meet with Ares, who made a deal with her: He would give her power and beauty and exchange for her help in causing tensions between the USA and Kaznia. In the second meeting with the Silver Swan, Diana would try to reason with her but would end up failling and is almost killed by the villain. Act 3 - After being saved by Steve Trevor, Diana starts to trust him and the two have a dialogue that makes Diana realize that her and the amazons aren't so saints in this story and, just like the people who mistreated Helen, they also let themselves be blind by their prejuice against men, not recognizing their potential to do good. Knowing that Silver Swan will attack the Congress in Washington, where the leaders of the world will decide whats gonna happen between USA and Kaznia, Diana would stop her, resulting in a fight where she defeats Silver Swan using her lasso of truth, forcing the villain to see her real apperance and make her realize that Ares is just using her. With Silver Swan defeated, Diana would unmask Ares in front of the world leaders, forcing the God of War to retreat. Diana return to Themysciria and tells her mother about her adventure, convincing her to allow her to return and that the world needs their protection again. Hyppolita agrees and so she and the amazons decide to return to Men's World with Diana becoming their ambassador.

@@johnhargrove5268 As for Aquaman, I was thinking in story accurate to the comics (specially the post-crisis continuity) but a little different from the current version that many fans know: Aquaman Act 1 - It would be based on "The legend of Aquaman" with the opening showing the lighthouse Tom Curry finding a blond boy in the beach. He would decide to adopt the kid and gives him the name "Arthur", rasing him as his own son. As he grows older, Arthur would discover his abilites to breath underwater and control sea life. He would use his abilites to help people as the mysterious Aquaman, becoming a local hero. When his father is in his deathbed, he would tell Arthur his suspicions that he might be a atlantean, a being from legends that he heard about. This would motivate Arthur to go on a quest to find Atlantis and discover about his origin. Act 2 - As he travels through the seas, Aquaman would see a group of Atlanteans being attacked the Trench. Aquaman would save them and they would bring him to Atlantis, where he is recived by King Nereus and his daughter Mera, who, alongisde the scientist Vulko, decides to help the new hero to discover his connection with Atlantis. While Arthur becomes friends with them and develops feelings for Mera, his presence would call the attention of Reverend Mother Cetea, who suspects that Arthur is actually Orin, son of the late queen Atlanna and the wizard Atlan. To prove her theory, she would awake the Karaqan, a ancient monster, forcing Arthur to use his powers to control him, revealing his identity to the people and turning them against the hero. It's explained to Arthur that his parents abandoned him when he was child due to baring resemblance to Kordax, a tyrannical being known for his blonde hair and ability to control aquatic life. Not wanting to bring trouble to any of his friends, Arthur would leave Atlantis, feeling that his quest was for nothing and that he doesn't belong to any place. Act 3 - After speending some time in his village, Aquaman would recive a visit from a old childhood friend, who helps him realize that a true home is where he is close to people he care about it and want to protect, making him recover his confidence and return to Atlantis, just in time to save them from another attack by the Trench, this time lead by the King of the Trench, a giant lovecraft monster, who Arthur defeats with the help of Karaqan. With this heroic act, Arthur recives major apologies from the atlanteans due to the way they misjudge him and Nereus not only allows him to stay but gives him the trident, recognizing him as the true heir to the throne, The movie ends with Arthur taking his role as king of Atlantis.

What Could Have Been: The main showrunner, Greg Weisman, had rough plans for a total of sixty-five episodes, which was thirty-nine more than what we got. -The Scorpion, The Hobgoblin, Mister Negative, Hydro-Man, and Carnage were slated to appear in the third season of the series. Morris Bench and Cletus Kasady both had brief cameos in the second season, with the former being voiced by Bill Fagerbakke. Mac Gargan is also mentioned as a private investigator who works for Jameson, and fans have had fun picking out extras in the background who might have been him; this is encouraged by Weisman himself, who indicated that minor characters like Tombstone's driver were intended as secret cameos. -Weisman also expressed interest in using The Kingpin, as a Big Bad on the show, but was unable to due to the fact that, while the character originated as a Spider-Man villain, Marvel now has Fisk officially classified as the arch-enemy of Daredevil, whom Sony did not have the rights to. As a result, the character Tombstone was used as a Suspiciously Similar Substitute. -There were also rumors about Maximum Carnage being adapted as well as The Clone Saga with Miles Warren gained full control over Curt Connors' lab at the end of Season 2. Building off the plans for Carnage to appear, Weisman stated that wanted to attempt a Venom spin-off series had the show reached a third season. a) In addition to the Venom spin-off, Weisman talked about the possibility of expanding his version of the Marvel Universe with other shows following other teams. One idea was to introduce Hobie Brown as the Prowler and have him team up with Silver Sable (and possibly Venom) as an anti-hero team. He also talked about integrating other Marvel characters and spinning them off into their own shows. This included the Human Torch (leading to a Fantastic Four spin-off), Captain America and the Hulk (leading to an Avengers spin-off), and Beast and Cyclops (leading to an X-Men spin-off). Part of the trade-off with not being able to use the Kingpin was that Weisman considered making a Daredevil spin-off. -Weisman's aspirations also included finishing the series with Peter's graduation from High School, then doing four straight-to-DVD movies, covering Peter's college years. -Emily Osborn was to have been given a larger role and was to be voiced by Marina Sirtis. -Christopher Yost was up for the executive producer job on the series, but they went with Weisman instead. Weisman also planned to make Mary Jane to become Peter's main love interest eventually but he wanted to imitate their romance in the comics and their parallel character development, whereby both of them would mature with Romantic False Lead (Mark Allen for MJ, Liz and Gwen for Peter) before starting their relationship for real. -Weisman said that he had no plans whatsoever to kill Gwen Stacy during the course of his show and admitted to being disturbed by fan comments and from other co-workers about when "he's going to kill her" when he noted that the nature of a children's superhero show precluded that kind of content. He admitted that were the show successful enough to create some home video movies (a la Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker) he would have tried going for PG-13 content but at the same time he didn't want to kill his version of Gwen.
