I love the conservative, traditional, clean appearance. (2016 Golf Sportwagen and 2001 Passat wagon.) There is nothing like a wagon. North American buyers are missing out.

I've got a 2015 Sportwagen TDI. I'm always amazed how much cargo can fit in it. I've even removed the hidden compartments between the spare wheel and the cargo floor, so I was able to increase cargo height by 5 inches. About the comfort and handling, it's a pleasure to drive.

The Sportwagen is the best VW I have ever owned and I"ve owned them all!! I still have my 2009 Sportwagen. And, it has a lot more room than some SUV's. I traveled cross country with food, etc and a trampoline sitting on top of the back trunk cover. It's amazing what you can do with this car! And it handles great and you can SEE out of it and over the front of the hood. I hit 100mph on Route 25 in NM and didn't know I was going that fast!! Mine is a 2.5 L gas engine with a Tiptronic transmission...I don't like turbo...My mother had a Passat wagon with turbo...you have to be sure you don't get a turbo sludgy if you don't do a lot of highway driving....

Wagons are fantastic. If you live in Canada, and are tired of companies forcing you to purchase expensive SUVs instead (unless you can afford a Porsche or Mercedes) then there is still hope. Kia sells the Forte 5, which they call a hatchback, but believe me it's 100% wagon! I don't work for Kia; I rather bought one, and I love it...

2019 Golf Alltrack SEL here. I purchased it pre-owned with just 21K miles on it from the dealer. COVID idled a lot of cars and kept the miles low. Pristine condition. I might have overpaid just a bit but these cars are just not available…people hold on to them for a reason. I do have a couple minor gripes like the infotainment center and not being able to turn on/off the radio from the steering wheel. And the heated seats need to be manually activated each and every start-up. Very happy so far with this purchase. Former owner of A4 Avant so always loved wagons!

Funny I traded my 17 A4 sedan in for my 17 sportwagen execline. Definitely feel a difference between Audi and Vw, but the interior room, perky pep engine, and overall usability of the wagon just can’t be beat. I don’t understand for the life of me how anyone would pick for example a Tiguan or any small suv over a wagon like this. It’s like you get benefits of a car and suv all in one.

Excellent wagon, do you recommend buying a used one? How your experience been with your wagon?
@ArtDrivenRoads3 жыл бұрын
I would definitely recommend buying a used one. Make sure that if you buy a Golf wagon than look for 2015 year 1.8 liter, and up. If you want a Jetta wagon look at the 2014 model with the 2.5 liter engine! They are both pretty reliable just make sure the cars get inspected.

@@ArtDrivenRoads Thank you for your advise. Is the 1.4 engine too weak? Please provide your thoughts/opinion. I have find it difficult to find a 1.8 TSI in my area. I would have to travel to another state where there are 1.8 TSI.
@ArtDrivenRoads3 жыл бұрын
@@dancar02 it depends what matters more to you. The 1.4 in the Golf is really smooth especially for stop and go traffic, it will only feel weak if you had something more powerful before, it also gets almost 40mpg on highway. It's more than enough for daily use. unless you drive as irresponsibly as I do. In that case the 1.8 would be more exiting, but you will loose fuel economy.

It seems that many people just prefer SUVs for the higher Commander seating position)
@NB-ir1me3 жыл бұрын
@@ArtDrivenRoads I love the seating in my Jetta sportwagen I just wish the door was more suv like, I have the seats leaned pretty far back and at the shortest setting and pushed back to the limit and I just feel exposed. I’ve gotten it tinted recently but I just like the feel of a tall door I guess? In an suv . I want to be able to lay back below the window line at stop lights etc but I’d still always buy wagon over suv just something I like in suv that wagon doesn’t have wagon is more like a car and feels to shallow where a suv you can sink into it and nobody see who driving
@ArtDrivenRoads3 жыл бұрын
@@NB-ir1me what you describe is a state of mind. You already drive a low profile car, not many people pay attention to wagons, and only those who know how cool it is will look back at it and smile. Taller doors in SUV won't help because your seat is high too, like in a truck so it makes no difference. The only car I drove where the door window sill was taller than my shoulder is, was the Chevy Camaro you literally sink in it and nobody sees you) the downfall is that you won't see anything out of it either)
