This is how to keep your kids in shape without giving them food problems. What an amazing mom
@Gilliebeany

We can still get them elsewhere! My mom was like this and yet I had horrible body image issues because of the kids at school. I was scrawny until I filled out to slim and healthy, athletic in highschool (swimmer, ballet dancer for 13 years, gymnastics for 6, horseback riding casually from living next door to a place with horses, regular hiking and occasional running). I still felt overweight because I ate so much more than other girls who called themselves fat. Ultimately, in adulthood I injured my Achilles tendon in college and unfortunately had a medication long term that when stopped, had done some damage. I developed a severe hormonal imbalance in spite of all eating mostly home made healthy foods and being fully active again, it grew a huge fibroid on my uterus (unknown to me at the time) that made my body mimic PCOS. The weight gain was intense. 83 lbs in a year. With extreme dedication, I was able to make some holistic changes to lose 40. But the fibroid was still there, so when I started an office job and took classes again, the same issue came back. This time I hired a nutritionist and a personal trainer and yet I gained 100 lbs that year and a half. It's been 9 years since then, with a newly healed relationship with food, getting back to what my mother had taught me and a lot of self acceptance as I was in the moment, and I lost about 1/3 of the weight. I finally get to get the fibroids, of which there's now at least 3, removed on Tuesday. I'm hoping that my body can experience the same peace that my mind finally reached, and that the combo may allow my body to heal itself just how I healed my relationship with food and realized restriction was never helping, I was healthier eating real food with real sustenance before teen insecurity took over. I don't think many people realize how just the tiny seed planted can do harm not only mentally, but how you don't have to have an eating disorder for the effects of poor body image to impact your actual health and well-being. Parents like this however, are certainly a much needed source of support and example!

This page has helped heal part of my ED, believe it or not. I thought that I was doomed to live a life eating food I don't even like for the sake of losing weight, but seeing how your family eats real food with good portions, I have felt some redemption and hope. I see all this good, healthy, natural food that you make and how you're staying active and it has inspired me to eat this way. You guys look so happy and healthy. I've already lost 10 lbs because of the changes I've incorporated in my lifestyle, which is significantly more than I've ever lost using an almond mom kind of diet. This isn't even a diet. Its just a healthy relationship with food. I guess my body needed real nutrition. Thank you so much for showing a side of nutrition and health that doesn't demonize food. I am very grateful I stumbled upon you and your butter mom!

I'm a man, who also suffered from bulimia. A lot of guys dont talk about their eating disorders, because we feel like its a "girl's disorder" based on how little we are included in conversations about EDs. The hardest thing about being bulimic, is no one picked up on it. For years, I'd disappear for 30 minutes after every meal to "make sure" I had purged everything. It was a horrible experience, it ruined my metabolic rate, and now I'm left with ARFID (avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder) because my body pre-emptively feels nauseated when I begin to eat. I say all this, because sharing my experience helps make others feel less alone. Your content, though simple and light hearted, is so impactful for us in recovery. I had an ED, but unintentionally. I was going through so much stress from school and work that I literally forgot to eat. I got to a point where my body just stopped getting as hungry and when I did get hungry, I only craved carbs. I went on like that, getting less than my minimum requirements for a couple of decades, eventually debilitating my muscle skeletal system. I’m now permanently disabled as it injured my digestive and neurological system. It’s like living in a wakeful hell trapped in my body, unable to function, get a job, afford the basics. Everything comes down on you at the same time. The house is currently falling apart because dad just got diagnosed with Parkinson’s and is now unable to fend for himself as well. It’s like a house of cards just waiting for the next breeze to topple everything. An ED can be so devastating. I feel for you.

That is the most important part, but a Vegan based diet has the best health benefits. There’s been a lot of peer reviewed research proving it’s benefits in a wide array of health factors. Also I’m not vegan, so not really saying this from extreme bias.
@StainlessTom
@StainlessTom 8 ай бұрын
@@tannerdriscoll6699no it doesn’t, you’re being lied to, every person being that our genes come from different adaptations all over the planet, has a different diet criteria. Some people may thing that vegan or vegetarian is the best but without supplements you’re missing a lot of nutrients and vitamins that would literally kill you if you were in the wild. Do you think someone living in Alaska is going to feel full after eating a bunch of salad and vegetarian options, then going out to chop wood in -5°or -10°? Probably not. What works for my body probably wouldn’t work for yours, but also you can eat absolute “junk” food like McDonald’s and ice cream, and as long as you’re getting your nutrients and work off the extra fat you will be in good health. It’s not just about what you put in your body but how your brain accepts it as delicious and nutritious, YES!! Your brain can give off different balances of chemicals regarding your emotion when eating! In conclusion, someone might enjoy a vegan lifestyle but most dont and telling someone definitively they should eat one thing or another is simply incorrect.

I found the best way to get kids to eat healthier is to start letting them help you cook EARLY, like two years old early. Kids love to be rewarded and take pride in their accomplishments. I mean let’s face it, even as adults we still love to have mom’s approval (I mean that in the most healthiest way possible.) Mine are now 12 & 15. They both have one day a week they make dinner. From start to finish. They love to seek out new recipes and explore different cultures food. They just give me a list of what they need and the rest is up to them

But this wonderful mother is not doing it in moderation. And they're completely ignoring the fact that the food that they're eating was a being that wanted to live. It's not something that they need to eat. That doesn't mean that they need to eat almonds either I don't touch them. I have been vegan for 59 years and I bet you I will be in better shawell. I'm already older than mother far older. People who don't eat animals don't do it just for health. Some do because there's obvious benefits. But the real reason and the meaning of being a vegan should be looked up by people who don't understand the real reason. It's because we believe that each being has a sense of itself family Love their children and friends. I've seen animals re United after 15 years. That were rescued from a disgusting factory farm and they were in tears and then played and played and played. They absolutely knew each other and remember each other. That's having a very complex brain. Something plants don't even have at all. They don't have a central nervous system or a brain. Don't get me wrong. I talked to my plants.😅 But that was an incredibly cruel day of eating. It had no regard for other life on this planet but the own. To me that's very sad but it's very scary too.😢

You are so blessed, my beautiful mother passed away 12 yrs ago on MLK day. She was in great shape for having six children, ate right and stayed healthy as she could. Anyone reading and separated from their parents/family, make amends an spend all the time you can because in the end you’re only left with memories. Saddest part is wanting to talk to them again, and you can’t. 😭. You know when you are growing up and you’re lucky to have older family like grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and some ppl have more than that in their lives; well I am at the point at 41, I am the oldest and everyone I grew up with is gone. Majority are gone from cancer(cigarettes killed my mom and her family) I never smoked yet second hand damaged my lungs. I just want to be able to live long enough to see my three granddaughters now grow up and have their children and maybe their children . 💕💕

I am very sorry for your loss. If you're open to it, you can reverse a lot of the lung damage from secondhand smoking with breathing exercises, like Wim Hof breathing here on KZbin and SKY Breathing offered by the Art of Living Institute on Eventbrite. While I do agree that it's ideal to make amends with family members, sometimes, that's not possible. My relationship with my dad was rocky growing up, and when he got Alzheimer's, I was still a sophomore in college. He died a decade later, and it was not a pretty sight. Do the best you can in each moment, and give yourself time to heal from the grief and loss, at your own pace.

It’s to make them feel better that they eat your food and no one can tell them that their children are going hungry… But at the same time make it your fault that you’re not hyper metabolizing the food to stay at model weight.

It shows how fortunate the people on this video are, to be able to cook and eat well for some is so difficult these days,the cost of living is so high, it’s all the back lash from the covid, it’s not going to get better for a long time and for some people they have lost so much already like their homes.

In MOST cases you can eat healthy without a significant increase in spending on food. Take advantage of the fruits especially and veggies that are cheap to even buy fresh. For the rest you can usually buy frozen for a very reasonable price! Buying lean meats as well are not more expensive usually. Buy skinless chicken or lean ground beef. It can be done!

@@christopherwilliams7905 It's easy to buy all that shit. It will spoil in a week. Most people don't know how to cook. It's quite a bit of work and time to learn how to take "fresh veggies!!!" and turn them into something the average person who has lived on fast food for 25 years will want to eat without also spoiling the nutritional value of the vegetables themselves. It's not just a money issue. It's a time issue. A willpower issue. And dare I say it... a skill issue for some. Woe unto you if you can't cook, but I have really met some people who can barely boil a pot of water. People don't just want to eat pure nutritional content. They want food to taste good. That's part skill and part art.

She feels the need to eat food that powers her because she is so powerful ❤️ I’ve known many island women like this and it’s so wonderful. They have always been in the best shape but never worked a 9-5 job. So take that as you will.

Let the milk sit for a longer time and allow it to solidify. When you squeeze it, don’t squeeze it through the cheese cloth as it’s very thin in the beginning. I just made my first ricotta a couple days ago too and combined it with some homemade mozzarella and Parmesan cheese from the store and stuff, some shells with it with some spicy marinara sauce. It was simply divine and I can’t wait to do it again and perfect my cheese. Sounds like a great day
