Oh wow, did your friends skin burn on the outside, or was it from the inside? My mom took a pill version of chemo and it was causing burns all over her body but they started from within. The nurses and doctors had never seen it before, it wasn't common. I'm so sorry for your friend ❤️

SHE didn't know she was sick until she went to the hospital and never came out. But her daughter told me the "chemo medicine" burned her skin. She told me she didn't make it. This was last year in March 2023. I was completely devastated. I never even got to have a "farewell, I love you" moment with her. This all just came out of the blue. ❤️‍🩹😭💔

As an oncology nurse, I hear patients say “if the cancer doesn’t kill me, the treatment will!”. It’s sad watching people suffer with the side effects. One trick a lot of my patients did for nausea was sniff rubbing alcohol swabs. It sounds crazy but they swear by it. I’m positive prior to chemo your nurse premeditated you with zofran, steroids and Benadryl and phenergan on hand but that can only do so much for the side effects. I hope things get back to better than normal for you ♥️

I agree with you! Fighting this battle, has definitely been a life experience. This is my third time with cancer. Now, getting chemo and immunotherapy. Symptoms are horrible and too long, 2 weeks. Yes, tiredness and nausea are the worse, I finally could tolerate ginger ale, almost frozen and that alíviate a little. Complete exhaustion, horible feeling in my stomach, no taste for food just a metallic taste in my mouth and throat, tachycardia, and terrible fog in my mind. Were the effects of the Chemotherapy consistent for each treatment, or did they get progressively worse with each one? My husband had his first chemotherapy infusion July 11th. He was only nauseated a couple of times and he is just now in the last couple of days really starting to lose his hair. For the most part he has had minimal side effects. He has his 2nd chemo infusion tomorrow (Aug. 2nd). I’m hoping that it goes as well as the last one. He has stage 4 prostate cancer with metastasis to his lungs, liver, spleen and bones. They say that his is also incurable.

❤ in 1998, I had severe pregnancy sickness. I told God that I would never do Chemo. You are so brave and you have my sympathy. I used to vomit so much, I kept a diary and would see how long I could go between vomits. I had to vomit before I could talk or brush my teeth. My other children didn't see their mom for 5 months because I was bed ridden. Our bodies are so strange. We don't know what is next nor how we will be in a given situation.. no two journeys are the same. All chemo warriors are so brave. May God give you the strength you need, whatever your journey may be. My grandma had awful cancer treatment side effects back in the 1980s... Even then, I thought "the treatment is worse than the cancer." I was 14 at the time and didn't fully grasp how much she suffered. But I knew cancer was not a joke. She was a God fearing woman and such a warrior in her silent manner.

I am sorry you’re going through this dreadful experience. Lost my sister last December. Chemotherapy ravaged her body and none of them worked. She suffered,and suffered through it. Lord it was too much. The nausea, the inability to eat or drink simple water, sleepless nights, the pain, the irritability, the physical damages to her body. It’s like she was suffering while being stripped of her femininity. Just had to helplessly watch her hair fall out, her skin die and her internal organs eventually fail until she took her last breath at 11pm on 12/10/2023. She had turned 43 on 12/1 but looked like a 9 year old kid. I hope this guy is surrounded by love and support during this time because that is what will keep him going. No amount of money or anything materialistic matters during this time. My sister had the money and was able to afford care but the medicine just didn’t work for her. All we were able to do was to provide comfort to her right to the end. Sending hugs.

7 months into my own aggressive chemo here… for me it got to the point where the horrible side effects never really went away because they can become cumulative. I’ve been going through suffering like you’re describing and it is beyond words. I wish you didn’t have to go through this. I wish no one ever has to go through this! I don’t know your cancer type or what your prognosis is, but take every moment of relief from your side effects, every moment of happiness, and consider this time during treatment a small price to pay in order to enjoy the rest of your life healthy. Stay positive, allow yourself only brief moments to cry, and keep your thoughts on the future. This mindset has helped me. I wish you the very best my fellow warrior! No symtoms really but my MD had put me on antibiotics for bronchitis and I had bloody diarrhea he changed the antibiotic and told me to see a gastrointestinal MD which she recommended a colonoscopy had a polyp size of a grape... all polyps turn in to cancer I was 43 years old if I would have waited until 50 would have been to late

All through my chemotherapy I went to a cannabis doctor, I made foods with cannabis and I had stage 3c ovarian cancer, it was intense but I didn't get sick or was in pain. I had no problem eating. I couldn't walk as i was weak for 3 days then I was good. That was in 2015. Doing great now. I'm also BRCA 2 positive.

In Jun 2010 my 49 yrs old husband was diagnosed with colon cancer, unfortunately it was in his lymph system. The same way as you, he got a colonoscopy because he referred a pain and the same day after the test the technician told us the he fund a spread tumor and he was a 100% it was cancer. He started getting chemo that didn't work and after 7 months he passed away😢 I'm doing my colonoscopy since then every year and everybody should ve doing it. Don't wait to get 50 to start screening your colon! (I think the changed for 45 yrs old now)

I learned some tricks during chemo. I basically lived in the bathroom the first three days. When Id get back in bed, I was never sure I would wake up in the morning. My heart would. Beat..beat............beat..........lunge.....beat..........l.........beat........lunge....beat. After that however I ate full meals every two to three hours. I was like a caged lion. Finally I figured out my body was needing the nutrients but everything was so destroyed I couldn't absorb anything. So I started liquid vitamins. Also for the sour stomach, I chewed tums, but then I discovered plain gelatin capsules helped absorb the acid. Yes. I gained 54½ lbs in three and a half months, but it slowed down then after I added everything. They gave me Kytril towards the end. After chemo it took trial and error to get to feeling better. I did gamma globulin shots every six weeks. The day after the shot I felt like you do after a flu shot, but then I had tons of energy. After about four or five weeks I'd be feeling tired again. I added hormones back and that helped a lot and give myself B-12 shots every couple of weeks. If I haven't taken them in a while I get so run down so I start back with twice a week then to once a week until I feel stabilized then every two weeks.

Some of us didn’t get nauseous during our six months of chemo. I’m not minimizing this man’s experience but it doesn’t happen to everyone. The worst that happened to me were light headedness, fatigue and, weirdly, blisters on the soles of my feet making it hard for me to walk without pain. But the foot thing only lasted a couple of weeks. Don’t let side effects discourage you. Chemo can cure you but early detection is the key.

My uncle had cancer but he never had chemotherapy he refused it however he met an excellent healer who prescribed him specific diet based on vegetables including beetroot that was disgusting to drink all these mixtures but my uncle was safe finally and he has been cancer free for more than 30 years. He is 75 years old now and he is doing well 🙏🏻

I was on the chemo pills for my stage 4 colon cancer 13 years ago and I still can't say the name of the drug without feeling sick to my stomach. I couldn't eat much and lost a lot of weight. My MIL juiced carrots and apples for me all day every day, which I think helped keep me from starving to death. I haven't done chemo since 2012 and except for a short recurrence in my lung in 2017, I've been cancer free since. May God heal you as He did me. ❤

Just this past Tuesday, August 6. ,I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of melanoma. Im losing my mind over here. So many people have it worse than I do, but damn, that word is scary. All of you fighting, keep on keeping on. You are all in my prayers.

Oh, I'm so sorry for what is going on with you! Since you are a praying person, I think you know that God walks through the tough and miserable times with us.... Give your concerns and fears to Him. Soon that serpent, liar, raging lion who causes all the curses we humans experience will be defeated and destroyed. Until then, you can be sure that God will be with you, strengthen you, and uphold you, as He promised (Isaiah 41:10).
