My life has been spiraling out of control and I have been unable to see it unraveling right before my eyes.
I'm FINALLY having major revelation that it's time to go back to my 12 step roots.
With Jesus at the center of my life I believe this journey of recovery will be a completely different experience than it was 30 years ago.
I'm scared and excited all at the same time, but I know this is what God is calling me to do!

I understand where you're coming from. I was diagnosed with Selective Mutism as a child. How people would speak to me and treat me made me feel stupid!!! 😭 That's when I knew I wasn't like everyone else and when I first went to church to learn about God and the Bible, it brought to me more of an uplifting spirit! Like, someone out there actually does care about me and I need to put my strongest faith in him!! No Doubts, STOP asking, Why and just encourage myself to stay in his path, reading his word and daily journaling. Because something good will come out of it in the end!!!

Hey honey you should check out celebrate Recovery. It's not just for addictions. It's a 12 step program in christ. Our motto says it's for people with hurts and habits. It thru Jesus saved my life. I was suicidal. God bless you sister

PS. Can you believe that my best friend from California, born and raised and now lives in Coronado. I asked her not to take the Lord's name in vain in front of me anymore. Every other word out of her mouth was G-D- D-M or J-S - Ch-t. After 31 years of friendship, I was even a maid of honor at her wedding in Newport, CA? She hung up and didn't call me again. That hurt. But Jesus is my rock, as you say. Hopefully, one day, my friend will get it. GG Texas.

I’m sorry that your friendship turned out that way, but you have to understand… I live in San Diego as , Point Loma area.. so if she is living in Coronado, she’s is probably all about money…. Remember what the Bible says you cannot serve two masters you will either love the one and hate the other. You can’t serve both god/Lord and money. Maybe you can lead her to the Lord.

Alanon helped me a lot. My God was my husband. I was obsessed with my husband becoming a christian and i was super controling so that we would have a good relationship. My parents were both alcoholics and i married an addict and then decided my mission in life was to fix him I finally had to stop. I joined alanon and had to work on myself, let God be God so leeanna can be leeanna. I had to learn that i am not God and i have no control over other people or their addictions and thats okay. I have a God who is in control and thats enough for today. I know i made an idol out of my marriage and when i finally gace that marriage to the lord is when changes happened..and i wasnt expecting anything like that. When i found Jesus again and made him the center of my life and my recovery from codependency is when the lord was able to show me how much he loved me and wanted me to be healed. Love your channel.

I love this woman, why because she has so much pure faith and enthusiasm about life, it excites people and does make some think about possibly looking more into what the bible teaches. 12 step programs is a very good tool, and along with prayer, can keep people on the straight path, which is not easy these days. This life wasn't supposed to be a rose garden, but neither isn't supposed to be difficult all the time. We pray for answers and we learn and we find others who can clarify things for us, as long as the other person isn't draining us.

I’m a fan of Jesus and you ! We have a lot in common with/ marriage and emotional regulation. Free Christian Recovery Ministry Celebrate Recovery. One in Santa Monica and one in Echo Park. And online. It really helped me in Jesus. I do witness at secular meetings but so much false religion false beliefs. Jesus is our Higher Power . Not a god of our understanding.

When you said Bible Study isn't enough, I felt God put a revelation on my heart that a 12 step is a disciplined way of holding one accountable to our Bible study. Did you ever think back in the 1990s that these three words-Algorythem, Narrative, Authentic-would take over the world in 2024? Of course not. I'm the eldest of three in my family, the first to actually believe in Jesus and follow his laws. Not one of my family members gets me or understands God when they continue to self-indulge in alcohol and sex with others outside of marriage. I have to disagree there are forces that many worship that aren't of God. These people live in the world and put the true God on hold until they have finished their self-indulgence, maybe on their deathbed, I don't know. But we must continue to pray for them, right, Chynna? I don't envy you with the superficial all around you; I get it. I lived in Laguna Beach for four years and lived that life, too. Sometimes Al Anon meetings drove me nuts (the behavior) -- but even though I didn't have alcoholism in immediate parents/siblings, I found actually that Adult Children of Alcoholics problems fit the things I had to deal with. What I found were that the Twelve Steps were really a form of repentance; you can work them with any problem

I’m also taking that step Chynna and going back to a 12 step program after 30 years. I’m co- dependent and a child of alcoholics. Unfortunately, the last time I attended Al-Alon meetings I was introduced to the New Age and those meetings were littered with New Age books! I think it's great that you are joining a 12 step program. At the end of the day, you are human and you have to focus on your mental, spiritual and emotional health. The right support, the right system and the accountability is so crucial to be fulfilled while still keeping your Christian faith. Try celebrate recovery and let me tell you it is wonderful, powerful it is fashioned after AA with the 12 steps but there is a scripture to each one and there are eight principles based on the beatitudes the whole thing is saturated with scripture. There is a thing called step study where you could do it separately with a group of women an answer specific questions at the end of the chapters. I am a leader and celebrate recovery and I can't tell you how much it has helped me and always will! I don't think anyone should try to navigate being a Christian in this world without participating in celebrate recovery to help navigate through it all!

I had two acholic parents. 1 quit drinking and smoking. The damage was done though per their lungs. ( Emphysema). The other was addicted unto death. Al-Anon helps you see how you enable these people. Very hard living with addicts who turn things around in you. ( Move that spotlight please!) Whatever the reason why Chy, I pray you grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. " Bondage Breakers workbook" by Neil T. Anderson, is a very healing book and takes you through steps of healing by allowing the Holy spirit to show you to be raw, open, vulnerable with an accountability partner who has a strong Christian moral compass and character.

You need to do what you need to do, Chy, so good for you for knowing it and taking the necessary steps toward it! And I love what you said about there being a difference between serving others and being a slave to it... how true is that, there's a difference! So many of us Christians misinterpret what Christ meant by serving others & putting them before ourself. I'm also a people pleaser and it's caused me alot of problems with social anxiety, and health issues even, like carrying stress around my upper back & neck/headaches, because of wanting everyone to be happy. We sacrifice ourself & compromise to please others when we should focus on pleasing God, whose yoke is easy & burden light.

You go, girl! A long time ago I knew a woman who had been diagnosed with a mental illness, and she had young children at home. She had been mostly convinced by apparently well-meaning Christians that she should not seek medical and psychiatric help but rely entirely on God, because seeking earthly help would mean her faith wasn't strong enough. I gently suggested that perhaps she should reconsider, because God often uses the medical profession in healing, and because she had young children she needed to be in the best possible shape mentally (and otherwise) so she could take care of her kids.

I love your channel. I've been subscribed for awhile now. You put into words what I wish I could. I try my hardest to walk the walk but I cannot talk the talk, like you. God doesn't mind. I just talk and pray to him like a friend, a beloved family member. But I can't talk face to face to others. The best I can do is say "God bless you" at the end of every conversation. ❤💜🙏

I love that,"A tight shipwreck" LOL.Good for you Chi,I also have co-dependent tendencies.Always looking out for others first and then when I need things theres never anyone around so I just deal with things on my own,always been like that and I'm so tired of it.Since I moved I don't have any friends and theres really nowhere to go to meet any.I have my online friends which do help but its not the same as having an actual person by your side.But I do the best I can.Sharing the things you go through and how you deal with them helps me believe that if you can,I can.You truly are an inspiration.
