The raw fed cats don't get as much coverage as the dogs do, and It sucks. I think it's because there isn't as much color in their bowls as opposed to our canine friends, so there's less opportunity for "pretty photos" Thanks so much for highlighting Tang's meals! My kitten has been on raw since we've adopted her and she looks great!

Guys please change to a raw diet Not because I said so Because my cat (Sandy) died yesterday she was 12 years old and had probably a liver disease and jaundice I switched her for 3 weeks to raw now and the day before her death we were in the animal hospital We waited 3 three hours before they took her (it was the late evening and animals aren’t really that important that’s why we had to wait even though she got unconscious and low body temperature Maybe if I feed her more heathy she would live today I slept in her room often after my brother moved out He had aggression problems and yelled at her often but I pet her brushed her and played with her Often I got for her chicken or nutritional yeast or egg yolks because she loved it Or talked to her how beautiful she is ( I just talked to her but she would start to purr) even though I was in the hospital and only spent the last 2 month with her everyday (before I couldn’t because I was scared to enter the room of my brother where she lived) and I was the only one who could pick her up I slept in the bed in her room because she loved companies and even though she was really anxious she did go out of the room with me and explored what she didn’t do for years But the 3 three days ago she vomited and it smelled like gall fluid I did think it was strange but because of one thing we couldn’t go to the hospital (cats often vomit because they eat to fast or because of Hair ball) then she got weaker and didn’t anymore Because of corona I couldn’t go with her in the room where they checked her just my father could go in and I waited everytime I wanted to calm her because I was the only one who could and wanted to tell her how beautiful she is because she liked to hear it but they said she has to stay in the hospital so we left the next morning I had a presentation in online school and a few minutes before my parents came in I asked „did they call“ My father was a little confused and asked if I heard them tonight Then he told my they called at 5:00am and had told him that sandy died I cried for 5min then I remembered school and got myself together but in the moment I unmuted myself i couldn’t get I right sentence and excused myself of course my teacher was confused but what she couldn’t here but me myself was my sister crying and screaming and collapse because she came home at that minute and heard the news I went out of the meeting and comforted here Even though she is older than I am she needed me But I don’t want to see my brother again Because when he came to visit and heard it he just asked „what should I do with this information“ „ I don’t really feel anything“ (even though he lived with her for 3 years in one room) he has autism and isn’t good in socializing but that wasn’t just autism for me it was heartless I miss sandy Please guys even though I don’t believe in god Pray for her Or tell her she is a good cat She was really loving and sweet but hadn’t the best life and I am scared that I am the reason I couldn’t say goodbye because of Corona And I really wanted to tell her I love her for the last time and how beautiful her white black fur is and her little black raccoon mask Please make good decision and love your pet everyday Rest In Peace Sandy You saw my grow up since I was 4 now I am 16 I love you

I just feed mine Primal, because having to do all the prep from scratch is a lot of work and with my adhd and job, it's hard to compartmentalize plus i don't have the time. But he's healthier now since primal is still raw as when i adopted him he was eating the hill science diet they fed him and i was like hell no im switching him to a diet that's better for him but still easy for me to follow. And his allergies went away, he's got more energy, and his fur is softer which i love. If you can't do the whole organ and meat diet from scratch just find a commercially produced raw frozen or freeze dried cat food and it pretty much gives you the same result.

Love this!! I need to start incorporating more of the “other meats” in my guys meals. I have a 50# dog and a 13# cat and minimal freezer space so I have to shop and prep weekly. Do you have any tips or suggestions for any of us in this situation?

Here in Germany i Order my barf from a Website and it comes prepackaged, already mixed with everything my Cat needs in a sausage sleeve for easy portioning. They even have menus For Cats with chronic diseases Like renal Problems , allergies , Diabetes and other conditions. A 150 Gram sausage ist about €1.89 ( $2) , so its actually really affortable.

This requires having lots of money and time which I don't at the moment. Got to keep things simple and efficient. I do a more simplified version of the raw proportions. I appreciate all the information, but even as someone who's been feeding raw for over 5 years this is intimidating an overwhelming. I can only imagine how a new person would feel.

I’m learning so much right now preparing to have a cat of my own in the future! Question: how do you feel about feeding a cat a high quality canned wet food once a week? My rationale is for the cat to be used to eating something like that for emergencies like I can’t make a raw mea for him/her or to make things easier for a pet sitter (convenience).

I've been feeding my cats both raw food and quality grain/veggies free canned food. I do not mid them though. Preparing homemade food is quite some work, and in a busy life I often forget to take the food out of the freezer in time... They like both so it's ok. They eat 4 times a day.

I do the same for my kittens I feed them pouch food once in a while and a little kibble just in case. One of my kittens in super super picky for a 4 month old and won’t eat the really high quality expensive brand canned food, while the other one is a vacuum. She also only likes pork or beef raw from certain companies that are local. I’m hesitant to even make my own raw due to how dang picky she is.

How did you get your cats to tolerate all that variety? We have our cats on Smallbatch raw food. We started them on turkey and then transitioned them to chicken and the transition came at the price of vomiting multiple times.

Very gradual and small changes. I learned very gradually over the years and started with simple chicken recipes, then evolved and started adding more variety little by little. I love her videos but the Way She lays it out looks very overwhelming and complicated. Too much too fast. I could never afford to feed such a wide variety of meats within one week.

Thank you so much for making this content. I am struggling feeding raw, mostly because my cat is VERY picky. I stopped giving him kibble last November; he is still on high-quality canned food; here and there some BARF but only if it is covered with ground kibble for flavor. QUESTION: What do you do with left overs? My cat eats like a princess: teeny-tiny bites and always leaves food, no matter how small his portion is.

God I wish I could do this I am so jealous. I have 2 kittens and one is a vacuum and the other is super mega picky and is only 4 months old. I started them on commercial raw and she only likes pork or beef and sometimes rabbit from certain local brands. I put a little chicken gizzards and hearts or chicken liver on the side cut up fine. It’s a hit or a miss mostly a miss. I started putting green tripe on top of her raw for a boost. I have to resort to pouch food sometimes because she won’t touch the plain raw sometimes either and she is at the age where she has to eat. She in gaining weight fine and likes treats. I might just pick up pork liver and try that. She had been picky since I got her at 8 weeks when I switched her from dry to wet for a few weeks then raw.

I’ve switched my cat from kibble to wet food, and it’s practically raw (Tiki Cats). But he’ll only eat fish/shrimp. He’s a picky boy, how can I entice him to eat other animals? That way I can raw feed him a variety of meats.

Incorporate his favorite meats into the other meats you want him to try. Over time, you can use less and less of his favorite meat and hopefully he’ll become accustomed to the meat. It’s important to go slowly when making a diet change for your cats so it might take a while

So each day you give a good balance and split up the daily amount into the 3 or so meals a cat would have, right? Or is the most important part having a fully balanced week? I'm starting to move my cats to a raw diet from wet food and they are taking well, but I want to make sure I don't over do it on particular areas by giving them too much of one thing every day. From your preping videos I'm guessing you prep for each day in a container then split that up in the meals each day?

I'm all hands on feeding our cats, but this is far too complicated and overwhelming for newbies, vegetarians and vegans. Just give them a "whole prey" as they would on their own if they were to hunt their own food, saves a lot of hassle and time. Unfortunately even those that feed premixed mixes with all the stuff they need find it complicated. All they really need to do is to defrost a day earlier and make it warm.

For adults, usually yes, unless they take to it right away, but I'd only use a single protein source for the first few days just to make sure there's no protein intolerance, and if there is you know what's causing it. Then you can slowly add more. If it's a kitten, you can switch cold turkey since they need to be switched from one balanced diet to another quickly. But again, start out with a single protein if you can. I know it's hard to feed a balanced hoemade diet made up of one protein source though. Just do your best!

Whole prey grinds are essentially balanced but I add a few pieces of other nutrient rich parts just to add to it. Not super necessary.

Good video! This looks like a lot of food.. 🤔 I feed my cat 130grams in total everyday... twice a day 65grams per meal. I used Perfectly Rawsomes calculator to figure that out. But my cat isn’t very active so he’s on the low actively level amount. He’s a big cat too.. Bigger than yours. Perhaps your cat is just more active than mine. ? He does get treats throughout the day too as well though.. Regular cat treats. (I’m not so strict about it that the only thing I’ll let him eat is raw or natural stuff) Anyway...
