Many many times you asked what north nomads use as pampers for babies? In this little video I show the cip what nomads mothers use as pampers for babies. And I think it's just awesome! Also you can have a glimpse at reindeer people life when snowstorm hit tundra.

The kids were all abused, and taken and kept away from their families for years. Most kids were raped. They knew no one and were forbidden to speak their language and beaten if they were caught speaking. If I were in their positions I’d want to run away home to my family too. I had wondered that, too. I know Native Americans did something very similar. Most likely because it was easy to obtain, and clean. It's amazing how having a baby is both the same and different. Same issues, same answers, just the resources are different. I agree with the cloth diaper, as a mom of a 25 month old. Expensive up front, but so worth it later. (I ditto the period underwear, too!)

They truly are amazing people. Really admire & respect to still keeping their traditional way of living in the harsh weather condition & basically taking care of everything manually. My Goodness I dont think I have the strength & wont be survive even a minute or two. They are the real survivors, thank you so very much for sharing, ❤

Amazing that these people have built a life in an environment that most people these days would die from. And yes, I get that it’s from generations of learning from tradition… but it doesn’t make it any less amazing.

Thanks to PATRUSHEVS for sharing this lifestyle video with us Westerners. Otherwise, this is a history that one day might become lost. I'm sharing this video with my kids and my grands so they too will see what instenstive labor is. Your videos are keeping history alive...hopefully your culture will survive as well.

Such strength, fortitude and daily challenges, particularly in such extended blizzard conditions. What a tragedy that the young boys lost their lives. Just heartbreak. But also such beauty.

I think all the modern comforts we rely on have made us forget what it is to be human. They don't have a lot, but they have what they need to be happy and feel alive.

These nomads are amazing. They are so tough and resilient and their love for their families way of life and animals is wonderful. As harsh as their lives can be they all look happy and healthy. Their ancestors have survived in these conditions for hundreds of thousands of years and they will still be living traditional lives for a long time yet.

She has a cradleboard!!! Some First Nations in Canada also use this technology, and I think moss is the traditional diaper inside! Dried moss has wonderful properties. You see many beautiful and diverse styles of cradleboard in different Nations. I loved seeing very similar technology in use here. It seemed to have a cradle like ability to rock too. What a great way to keep her baby safe while she does things. Thanks for sharing and please give our best to this family and thanks for sharing their life. I'm so glad they're looking after their reindeer. Caribou (what we call reindeer here) are very endangered in Canada because the government keeps encroaching on their land.
