With love from Sweden. 😁 Annoying as heck, but a good number to get the crowd going. You should do "Wish you were here" too. A great ballad.

This was a HUGE hit back in the day. We didn't care what it meant. We couldn't get on the dance floor fast enough when the DJ played this. We had a massive amount of different genres to choose from and we LOVED it all. I was there for it. The only advantage to getting old. We worked all week and PARTIED ALL WEEKEND. It was a blast. I also LOVE your reactions. You seem like a very nice man. Keep up the good work.

I live in Far North Queensland where this song has a life of it's own. When I go to a party everyone gets up and dances to this. We have our own Reel, but you won't catch any woman in a gingham dress. We prefer a good top, jeans and high heels. If you want them to play this song again you just keep dancing, after about 3 times you'll need a break. When this song first came out a group of us snuck into a Brisbane Night Club (some of us were underage). This song came on some of us started our Reel and all sorts of people joined in.

This song! When I was a teenager, I moved to a very small town, think under 800 people. First bush party I went to, the usual heavy metal playing. Somebody put on Cotton Eye Joe, and everybody was suddenly on the tailgates of their trucks or on their car roofs, beers in the air, doing the Cotton Eye Joe! Right after it was Friends in Low Places by Garth Books. Then straight back to Metallica. They were the best parties!

There has been some fun songs over the years. Try Whigfields Saturday night or mambo number 5. Or Los Del Rio the macarena. We had a lot of fun in 80s and 90s.

Some people weren't impressed with the imagery of this video, LOL ! If you want more in this same vein with different group, please check out Edelweiss - "Bring Me Edelweiss". Another one would be Werner Wichtig - "Pump Up Das Beer", a spoof on Technotronic's "Pump Up The Jam". But be warned, they either make you groan or laugh. ;)
