I’m gonna go ahead and say that I’ve been playing fortnite since season 1. I do not lean to one side of the spectrum too far. I’ll start with the great messages. Fortnite is a game full of skill and luck. If you manage to get a dinky little pistol your skill won’t matter much, but if you get a golden SCAR, one of the best weapons, and are bad at the game you will probably die early on. These factors build patience and determination. Though you will die early on, the new playground mode offers no enemies(unless you chose to invite friends or use the fill option) and lots of resources and weapons. This gives you a chance to practice building and find the right weapon for you(i.e. shotguns, rifles, long range rifles, pistols, rockets/other explosives, even a minigun!). This games characters are not great role models as they are silent, but people who play it like Ninja or Tfue show great determination and sportsmanship. The game itself does not swear but the online chat does. If language is a problem for your child then turn off the online voice chat. The safety and privacy concerns are for bots on KZbin that bypass filters by using alternative keys like this: free ¥büçś wìth thįs cødë. You should never click on these links, but monitor your child. People will also try and do this through the voice chat. AGAIN, NEVER CLICK ON THESSE LINKS!!!! Since fortnite is free to play Epic Games makes money through in game purchases. Epic does not have an over consumerism problem but other children do. Other children might try to bully or peer pressure your child into buying skins. If this is happening sit down with your child and talk to them. Do not make them stop playing, instead tell them if they have their own money they can buy the in game currency, but they don’t have to. Personally I have never bought any in game purchases. Also, the violence in this game is not bad. Loony Toons can have worse violence at times. Some parents think that it makes children violent. This is simply not true. Of a kid sees his favorite character pick up a rifle and shoot a teddy bear it doesn’t mean he’s gonna shoot up his school! Also, as a final word, I think children around 6 CAN play it but with your or an older sibling that you trust to watch over them. Children at that age are more likely to copy actions. That’s how we learn to talk and walk. So... of you dont want your young child to jump off a play set and hurt themselves have someone to watch them. Hope this helped. May the south rise again!

This is in perspective of people who only played pac-man and Mario .. In a kids perspective ( me ) its more cooperative, uses math ( sort of ) and most of all isn't as violent as many other games like COD and GTA. I think, although being biased to kids, its a good, addictive, fun and gets kids talking to each other. I used to play league of legends and was getting very poor marks but quit and played fortnite 6 months ago, and my grades went up ( no lies ) from 40% to around 70%. This just proves that fortnite isn't a bad game, but, as any game would be, not exactly "healthy". ☺

Fuck the fact that professional psychologists rated it as 12 and up, let's listen to some moms who refer to an Xbox as 'This thing called Xbox' and know little to nothing on the subject. The way they describe the game is like they are trying to work people up about it. It's just a fun game that is popular, that's it. If your child is under 12 they should not be playing it. And if your child is below 18 they should not be playing GTA.
