4 boy mom here!! I’ve finally gotten my boys to eating less meat. I stretch it by adding beans and etc too. The only time I use a family size package is if I’m making homemade fried chicken. Meat should be a compliment to your dish not the main dish. I learned that from a mom of 10! But yes, boys eat a lot of so we do a lot of filling meals and less snacks Foods because most of the time they were eating out of boredom.

Hello Kristin, if you gently pat the tops of your biscuits with buttermilk, you should be able to bake them at 450 for 15 minutes, and they will be golden brown. I also rub the tops with butter and flip them over and rub the bottoms with butter, after they come out. They are a crowd pleaser every time! 😁

another thing you can try with those biscuits is take a pound of maple sausage and cook it up nice and brown (I like to cook it a little longer to get some crispy bits on there) and then add 1/4 cup flour and stir, cooking about a minute to cook the flour taste out. slowly whisk in 3-4 cups milk, pepper (I usually don't salt until it's done because the sausage is pretty salty to me) and let simmer until thickened and pour over the biscuits. this is my husbands favorite breakfast and it's super simple.

everything looked wonderful! it is what I have come to expect from your videos! when my kids were little I used to make a veggie soup that we called refrigerator soup! it was usually on the weekend and it was bits and pieces of whatever was leftover in the fridge! I did find a new recipe lately that I am loving that is very similar. I put in like a rotel and regular diced tomatoes instead of the tomatoe juice and I use a homemade chicken broth for the majority of the liquid. I also use the rice o roni wild rice with the seasoning packet, I really think that that makes the soup! I just love the flavor! thanks so much for sharing! xoxo

I use the coke trick with caramelizing onions. I start with melting butter then adding sliced and halved onions (onion strings), then when the onions start to get soft I add about 1/4 cup of the coke…let that almost finish observing/evaporating and add the next 1/4 or so coke. I do that until either all the coke it gone or I have the caramelization that I want. The onions are great on burgers, hotdogs, topped on a salad, topped on an Alfredo pasta. Yumm😋

We used to lightly baste rolls with whole milk or cream, before we baked them, to give them a golden brown color on the tops. That may work for your biscuits.
