If Sir William was still around, he would be happy that his little ruston found a new home with a good new owner to take care of it.

I'll definitely have to visit the MSLR at some point as it looks like a nice little line. I do think the bigger railways seem so much less friendly, more about getting people in and out as quickly as possible. I was fortunate enough to drive one of these on the 2ft gauge AMberley railway in Sussex when I used to volunteer there.

@Ellenslife8515 жыл бұрын
I agree it was pretty ruff when you first bought it. But I can’t wait to see the finished product on it when it’s finally up and running in fully restored. Because I really think it is a neat piece and you don’t see too many of these old Smaller trains like these being saved from the scrapyard a lot of people are slowly getting rid of that stuff especially railroads that have had that stuff sitting out for years and and it broke down on them years before they are scrapping it for the value not fixing or not selling it to a collector what they should do. I know of an old steam train that’s probably longer than that and twice the size of that but it’s sitting at the American Railway Co. terminal in New York City USA I believe is where it is at that terminal and it has been there since it was parked some 60+ years ago after having issues and then upgrading to a better train that was faster instead of fixing that one and it’s a shame to see that it is such in rough condition I wish I could go to New York City and buy the train off of them because it’s a shame to see the state that it is in I think it deserves to be rescued and restored. They’re a part of our history and I think they should be preserved for more generations to appreciate the history of the world.
@Ellenslife8515 жыл бұрын
Lawrie's Mechanical Marvels But you see this was many items getting scrapped it just because nobody buys them right off I think they should be preserved.
@lmm5 жыл бұрын
It's important to save these things, once they're gone, they're gone. I'm so proud of how the 48 is looking now! In fairness in the UK there are loads of little industrial locos preserved. We're very lucky! Saving steam locos needs many people and more money sadly. But very worthwhile!
@Ellenslife8515 жыл бұрын
Think it would be cool to have an old steam train like the one that is sitting at the American Railway terminal and if I had a big enough piece of property that I could build a railroad track going around my property and be able to deliver my hair and different things to different areas of my farm that has always been a dream of mine since I watched a farmer on ABC who had had a life dream to own a rail road in his backyard and as he got older and started to retire more from the farming industry he decided to build one of those but I think it would be handy to have for my farm and help me out immensely by delivering the hay right to the loft door of the barn. Or maybe delivering grain for my cows or feed for my chickens or food for my horses whatever its uses are it would still be of a great use on the farmstead
