People need to understand that’s there’s a crazy bag world out there . These kind of bags aren’t cheap because they’re made from amazing materials , extremely over engendered and usually small companies that really put their heart and soul into the product . I’m not a roll top guy myself , I tried that with the Wandrd Prvke but I can tell that this bag is quality . I just reviewed the bellroy tech pouch , the new compact one . Expensive also but very much worth the price .. great post ! ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼

After using it for 2 years, I love this bag also. The only thing I don't like to much is the way to rolltop section closes with velcro. It usually falls sloppy. I really prefer the Shimoda and other brands solution, with a rigid ruler-like structure all along the rolltop section. I wish they would update the bag with this.

I love bags. I have the wandrd and the lowpro freelite which are both great bags but I have nitpicks with both of them and this bag seems to resolve those nitpicks and combine both of those in one. I would love this one too but my bags are still holding up well so I don't want to be wasteful and get a new bag for no reason. But good to know this bag exists for if anything happens to my current ones!
@quickdry34 жыл бұрын
it reminds me of a Prvke crossed with an Fstop and the back panel of a Shimoda. Love the bag design _except_ the Shimoda style rear access that attaches the straps to the back panel. I know it gets the straps out of the way of the zipper... but all the load goes onto the zip, making a zip failure mor3 like.y and if it does... you can’t carry your gear. At least a zip fail on a “straps to pack body” (aka lowepro, fstop, etc) and your body holds the panel shut. I know “the perfect bag cannot exist”, but they always get so close... then add in some “whyyyyy did you do THAT?!?!” design issue

How is this bag holding up today compared to other options? (Especially in terms of comfort) Do you still use it? I'm still trying to find the perfect camera backpack (like everyone else). I've tried the Shimoda 35l Explore V2 and Action X30 but for some reason Shimoda's harness system just doesn't work well for me and I find their bags very uncomfortable even after loads of adjustments. The Think Tank Urban Access 15 is much more comfortable but I find the layout limiting. The Fstop Shinn 80l is very comfortable for it's size and weight when used with the hip belt but it's far too big for most daily carry use. It's also hard to find bags with good depth to store larger lenses vertically like the Canon RF 70-200mm (5.75") and RF 28-70mm F2. The Compagnon 20l and 30l look great but are very expensive and hard to find much recent feedback on compared to other options.
@jdnorthrup2 жыл бұрын
How well does the compagnon bag suspend weight from the hipbelt? It looks like the belt and back panel are kind of floppy/flexible so not sure if it would lift weight off shoulders vs just keep things secure to your midsection. What’s your experience?

After an extensive search for my next "do-it-all" bag, I narrowed it down to a few, out of which, this one IS the most complete and looks like, what I imagine, I would be happy with. HOWEVER! There is one thing that I see as a BIG PROBLEM, although, I don't have much experience, so, PLEASE, advise, share opinion... The thing is - and is so for all except one bag from my narrowed list - the main opening of the bag opens TOGETHER WITH STRAPS! This means, ALL THE WEIGHT (or most of it), is gonna be hanging on ZIPPERS alone, which does NOT give me confidence... What do you think about it? Did it prove to be a problem, if you continue using it all this time? - Thanx!

Hey, I have gotten a GoPro hero 8 a while ago and learned that it is really choppy and bad with hevc files. so I have been using hand brake to transfer them to mp4 files. My editing program also doesn't take hevc files. anyway, I was wondering if there was an easier way to transfer hevc files to mp4 because honestly, HandBrake is a pane in the butt. If you could explain HandBrake better or something that would work too. There aren't any recent videos on HandBrake so maybe I'm dumb and there is a really easy way to do this.

Hi David, I watched your review in regards of compagnon element backpak. I’m looking for an everyday backpack that I can carry R5 with 24-70/2.8 with or without 70-200/2.8. I’ve peak design everyday backpack. For the lens it is fine, but if I wanna take some snacks and a sweater, pd every day back bag is so annoying as the little things slips through it to the camera division as there is technically no separation b/w the top to the bottom other than using a Velcro divider. I also have a shimoda explorer v2 30l, which is an overkill for a everyday backpack. I kinda like the brevite jumper, but their straps looks so flimsy and I don’t like top/front access as I prefer side and back access for security reasons. So, in short I like the compagnon from your review; it also looks so cool. Is this an overkill for everyday bag? Is this bag meant more for a weekend or 2-3 day type of travel rather than a day trip? I was asking all this because currently, we don’t have access to this bag here in the USA as everywhere is back ordered (even in bhphoto for the desert color), I’ve to order directly from the company in Germany. So, before I invest I would like to ask around experts like you. Thank you in advance, Till

The name is french, even it’s a german company.. and it means fellow or so. To the backpack: At first the 12l of the top did come from the length of the strap. At second nearly 400€ for a backpack with the back straps on the back, which means the zipper is doing the whole work of holding the bag is ridiculous. But everybody has a own style of working and carrying, so it’s may fits for ur purposes. On the other side I’ll never understand the need for side access or front pockets, but 50% of my work is street/city photography. If u’re going for landscape or hike (I do also) or wedding/engagement it’s may handy. To be honest and clear I like ur video because it does the job in showing the backpack, that’s good.
