Okay mine arrived last week from Germany because they don't sell it anywhere else. I think there are some in the United States as well but I absolutely love it. Took it on my first decent hike today into the wilderness and passed. I love the side access door to the camera I also love the top compartment to put my drone into as wellIt's a winner people. It's a fantastic bag. It's expensive but you know what you pay for quality. Don't hesitate in buying. The zips are really properly sealed.

Great review. You've become one of my favorite KZbinrs. Is this backpack still your favorite? How has it held up? Which size is your pack, 20 or 30L? Still waiting for my 100VI? I'm on a waiting list for the Q3 but not sure if I want to spend that kind of money. Q2's in good condition are pretty expensive in the US. Anyways, thanks so much.

Agreed on all points mentioned. Another good alternative for is the Shimoda Action X2 40ltr (2024 version). Great review bro.

This video was shot about a year ago or actually two years ago. I'm just curious about how it's lasted and I used to using this backpack. Thanks for your channel. Great video.

Thanks! And yes, still the best camera backpack I have ever had. I only use it when I really want to carry a lot of camera gear though. So on most days and for smaller outings I will just use my regular EDC backpack with a camera insert. You can check my latest video about the Goruck GR1 if you want to see how that works. Sidenote: Compagnon now also sells a smaller 20L Version of this backpack, which did not exist when I bought mine (30L). The smaller one wouldn't be able to fit my 16" MacBook but other than that it would be a much more reasonable size for my daily needs. Hope that helps.

This looks great, but I didn’t need all that space so opted for the Sling 15 instead. Any chance they could send you the slings for review? There doesn’t seem to be much around the net. I personally think they look really nice, especially in the desert brown. Looking forward to receiving mine. It will be used as a daily carry due to its awesome versatility. If I really like it I may get the Sling 11 for when I want to pack light.

Couldn't agree more. If they release a 15" MB Air with white bezels (which sadly wouldn't surprise me) or weird colors it would be a hard "no" from me. Lets hope it doesn't come to that.

Did you do a big hiking tour until now?
@TobisTings

I'd say big-ish. About 15km. Worked beautifully, but I didn't use the Waist strap so I could feel it on my shoulders towards the end. Nothing serious though and I am impressed how well just the shoulder straps handled that weight.

Schöne Vorstellung, aber kann man da auch Kleidung für eine Woche plus Kameraausrüstung mitnehmen? So wie es aussieht ist für Klamotten nur der Sack oben übrig?
@TobisTings
@TobisTings Жыл бұрын
Danke!

How is this bag holding up today compared to other options? (Especially in terms of comfort) Do you still use it? I'm still trying to find the perfect camera backpack (like everyone else). I've tried the Shimoda 35l Explore V2 and Action X30 but for some reason Shimoda's harness system just doesn't work well for me and I find their bags very uncomfortable even after loads of adjustments. The Think Tank Urban Access 15 is much more comfortable but I find the layout limiting. The Fstop Shinn 80l is very comfortable for it's size and weight when used with the hip belt but it's far too big for most daily carry use. It's also hard to find bags with good depth to store larger lenses vertically like the Canon RF 70-200mm (5.75") and RF 28-70mm F2. The Compagnon 20l and 30l look great but are very expensive and hard to find much recent feedback on compared to other options.

I was really looking for a everyday bag, as i have mentioned earlier. I’ve shimoda explorer v2 30 as well, even though it has a lot of organizing pockets, the metal frame around the bag and the bulkiness made me to stay away from it. But don’t get me wrong’s this bag could be useful for someone who is really professional and for a dedicated hike and shootout. I’m not a professional, just hobbyist and was looking for a day to day everyday bag, when most of the time my kids are with me for these trips. I used element bag for my recent trip to Germany and France, and I loved it. Even though it is slightly bulky for a everyday usage, I removed the hip belt, which made me feel myself that it wasn’t that bulky; I also bought a wandrd prvke lite just for the trip, but I’m glad I didn’t take prvke lite, which was too small, whereas element worked out very well in my situation. I even now started taking this bag without hip belt to my kid’s soccer games as well and I am happy that I can use the upper rolltop section for sweaters etc.

Thanks for the feedback@@tolickal I'm still looking into the Element. I've pretty much decided that Shimoda sadly just doesn't work well for me as much as I want them to. There new Urban line looks great. The harness system (mainly the straps) are just uncomfortable so I have to try to rely on the hip belt and I find that even their larger cubes don't fit that much camera gear. I think I'll try the Element next.

Hi Tobis, I watched your review in regards of compagnon element backpak. I’m looking for an everyday backpack that I can carry R5 with 24-70/2.8 with or without 70-200/2.8. I’ve peak design everyday backpack. For the lens it is fine, but if I want to take some snacks and a sweater, pd every day back bag is so annoying as the little things slips through it to the camera division as there is technically no separation b/w the top to the bottom other than using a velcro divider. I also have a shimoda explorer v2 30l, which is an overkill for a everyday backpack. I kinda like the brevite jumper, but their straps look so flimsy and I don’t like top/front access as I prefer side and back access for security reasons. So, in short, I like the compagnon from your review; it also looks so cool. Is this an overkill for everyday bag? Is this bag meant more for a weekend or 2-3 day type of travel rather than a day trip? I was asking all this because currently, we don’t have access to this bag here in the USA as everywhere is back ordered (even in bhphoto for the desert color), I’ve to order directly from the company in Germany. So, before I invest I would like to ask around experts like you. Thank you in advance, Till
