I was wary of the Dermoplast spray too with my first baby....but then I ended up with a 3.5-degree tear and a LOT of stitches and boy did that numbing spray save me!!! Looks like you're all set--maybe add some hand lotion/moisturizer for you? The air in the hospitals is always so drying! Also, totally random--a little notebook and pens to write stuff down. I don't know if you're like me but I always want to jot stuff down!

I turn 18 on April the 14th and I was just thinking about how absolutely amazing it would be if she was born on the same day. The Milkies Milk-Saver pads are amazing. They are for leaking milk like the pads but they are silicone and save the milk to be poured out. Even if you don’t keep the milk. They hold a lot more than any pad!

I drenched myselfs in clary sage to try to get my labor started when I hit full term and sadly it didn't do anything. Peppermint was incredible for back labor when I was in the thick of it. I labored for 25 hours and then ended in an emergency csection because of fetal distress. I only ever dilated to barely a 1 and I was at 41 1/2 weeks. The doctor said I had an unfavorable cervix.

Ahhh thanks for the reminder about the tennis balls! I had back labor the whole time last time so I should definitely grab a few of those for when I eventually pack my labor bag. And lavender eo is so great for labor, it's actually known to help lessen pain during labor. I would check with your hospital about using the diffuser though. A lot of times, they don't recommend using one and would rather have you put the oils onto a cotton ball so it can be flushed away since the safety of them can vary from person to person and it could be potentially harmful to any of the medical staff if they have an allergy etc.

That first shower after birth is heaven! I was so glad I took some of my essential oils for my last delivery (I didn't my first 2). I had clary sage during labor, which I greatly contribite my 3 hour delivery to, and a balance blend, which had spruce, frankincense, blue chamomile, and a couple other ones. Also hated the dermoplast spray, it burned SO BAD, so this time I took my own diy mama spray as well, and it was so much better.

I highly recommend making your own dry shampoo as well. The Batiste spray is full of chemicals and has caused some gals to lose their hair! It's such an easy and cheap DIY, seriously.

I used witch hazel wipe just made then myself. I cut paper towel roll in half and submerged it in witch hazel and boy I healed in a few days. I used that with my third pregnancy and will in just a few weeks for number four🙂

One of my nipples split completely open when I was breastfeeding my first son 😩. But I kept pushing through and breastfed him for 15 months. Hoping this time around is a little less painful lol #26weeks

Life with Tanay you rock mama! Maybe you can start conditioning your nipples now with lanolin or coconut oil. I started around 30 weeks when I was pregnant with my first and I never had problems with chapped nipples..he's now 21 months and still nursing. Best of luck to you!

Just wanted to word a small caution to you, I worked at a daycare facility and we did not allow the use of any products that contained beeswax or honey in them for children under two years of age to prevent botulism. Just double check that ingredient with your doctor. Congratulations and best wishes!

+Jenae Cleghorn This a question I had when coming up with the recipe for the DIY nipple balm so looked into it. I did a search and found this statement by Marion Ellis, professor of Entomology and an expert on bees: “I know of no evidence that there is any possibility of botulism spores being present on beeswax, and if present, they would be rendered inactive by the heat required to melt beeswax for incorporation in [a beeswax-based] product.” Read the rest of her statement here: www.motherlove.com/mm5/beeswax.pdf

Haha I went through five cans of dermoplast and it saved my life 😂 I tried a natural version but it did not work for me due to a second degree tear + episiotomy 😅 hopefully your mixture provides relief!!

If you live in Washington I would highly recommend going to Nature's Inventory for essential oils and things of that nature. My mom makes homemade deodorant, lotions, several soaps, and magic healing balm. She makes some amazing natural things 💜

I'm packing EOs this time. There was a skunk hit right outside the hospital the night I was in labor. Thankfully, the nurse had some peppermint EO that she put on a cotton swab and tapped near my head lol It was a lifesaver.

I've been sent from the doctors office straight to the hospital a couple of times but I always go home to either drop off older siblings or to get my bags and of course to eat first. I am NOT going to L&D without eating first lol

I love clary sage for labor. I also use gentle baby and rub it on the baby's soft spot after birth 😀 this time I'm trying into the future oil but it's like clary sage where you can't smell it until your ready to go!

will they allow you to labor in a bikini? i couldnt find a solid answer on line. it sounds alot more comfortable than being in a gown and more modest than laboring naked.

I'm not really a bikini wearer. I'll be in a bra and underwear (or not) if I labor in the tub and I'll be in my gown outside of the tub :)
