I mainly use a bait called slammers by Tournament Ready Baits. A retired gentleman local to me makes them in various great colors, and they have worked everywhere for me in the toughest conditions. I use them almost exclusively.

Roboworm colors target smallmouth and spotted bass deep clear-water lakes. Drop shot hooks I use are EWG sizes 1, 1/0 also include Gama katsu finesse 2/0 and 4/0 red and black chrome hooks. Fit the hook to the plastic you choose. If I am fishing hard or rock bottoms, I use an open hook because the weight might hang up but the bait seldom will. Remember the rusty nut weight they go thru rock and hard bottom great for zero cost. Fishing weeds and structure use texted-posed hooked baits. Soft plastics get better hook ups and wiggle more. Bait colors pumpkin, black, watermelon green, green shad and any other dam color they bite. Bait size 4-inches or less for the most bites. Bait types I use most are 4-inch worms, lizards and fork tail minnows made by Zoom, Bass Pro, and Fish Belly 3.5-inch Hawgshad. You can heat hard body plastic baits in hot water to make them soft. Test a few before dropping a bunch in to obtain the results you want. You must commit to using a drop shot. Leave everything in the house and go fishing with two spinning reels and one casting reel set up for drop shot rigs. Use 10 or 12-pound fluorocarbon on the casting reel. I caught plenty of fish drop shotting a 6-inch Zoom lizards on casting reels using a 3/8oz.weight off an 18 to 24-inch dropper to know it works. Use the most sensitive rod you have regardless of power or length. Take every bait you have that fits the above description and if you don’t get bit with five casts change baits and put that bag of baits in the failure pile. Z-Man has a new TRD called Yoga Pants I feel ill every time I say Yoga Pants. Make one cast and make it last one minute or longer. If this fails to work, you may be fishing in a nuclear power waste pond. By the way, check out (Fishing Western PA). Watch Summer Fishing Tips Lake Arthur, Wolf Creek. It reminds me of you in the distant past. This lake is 12 miles from my door. Put eyes on your flick-shad and watch the video on their website it is killer.

I love the Mann's 1-Minus lures too - all sizes. These lures are highly ignored! But also check out the Berkley Wakebull. In soft plastics, try placing an order for the Gary Yamamoto Cowboy, you won't be disappointed. I fish these last night and they're great - simply nose hooked!

Love the channel. For the drop shot I use the 3/16 weight with a Texas rigged #1 ewg hook or a straight shank. Try a 24”-36” leader because you are dragging it. I fish it with a steady drag never stopping it.

Bought my first swim bait. The s-waver but the 120 I believe it is. Don't really have a setup for the bigger heavier bait. Plus I have no idea what I'm doing with it. But plenty of tactical bassin goes a long way. Go get some

the drop craw is super good when you have a cold front come through and you have to down size... shorten the leader length to about 4-5" and cast it out and hop it back instead of dropping straight down.... works well for me here in the super clear waters of lake champlain..

I'm right there with you on pike fishing being a ton of fun! I love catching them!! Just a few weeks ago, I caught a 9.14 lb bowfin..on a 1/4 oz red eye shad lol (only 2 oz away from being a citation where I live!) While it wasn't a pike, bowfin are also mean, toothy, and slimy! The three ingredients that deter most people haha. My buddy, who netted said bowfin for me said " Dude, I'm glad you were the one who caught that, catching a bowfin like that would've ruined my day!"....I said whaaaaaaaaaaaaa? Your'e outside of you mind man!!! Good luck on all the new gear. Warmer water is coming my friend!!!

great vid and box man. I'm gonna bring up on the Keitechs and Yamamoto Zako... great baits if you understand their actions. The Zako is more of the adding bulk to your chatterbait with a rolling action, but not much of anything on the tail other than a tight shimmy (heard some people complain about it being a dead action) prob not trimming skirts properly and so on. The Keitech is cool when you want a little smaller slimmer trailer, but a bigger tail 'wag' and no roll like in clearer waters, whereas the swing impact fat is a roll and the tail wag altogether... great stuff again

Absolutely and couldn't agree more. The same goes for the grandebass swingtail blade. It's just moving with the chatterbait and not supposed to have its own action. Good to point that out man!

Nice baits you got Debo!! I have some of the missile baits bomb shot and they have an awesome action in the water. Really great bait for dropshotting. Can't go wrong with the roboworms either. They do great on shakey heads as well. Also the shadow raps have a great erratic action. I really wanna try the new bigger rapala ripstop. S waver, yes. Really want to try one of those, too. It would be cool to see a video of you fishing that.

Try the zman razor shadz. They are elaztech obviously so they last forever and have the same action as the zako. Also, the large size cps springs save a ton of money on swimbaits because it doesn’t rip out of the nose much at all like the small or medium ones do. Obviously this doesn’t work on tiny swimbaits but like 3.8 Keitech and larger it works great.

Roboworms are great - the shorter ones and the ned ones make super drop shot baits. Intrigued by the Sami Bug (I also used to fish Jitterbugs). It seems like it's got a lot going for it to piss off the bass. Let us know how it works out for you. Not a fan of the big jerkbaits. Probably my loss, but does seem trendy and perhaps a bit too big for some of my haunts.
