Great bag review! I'm a fan of Wotancraft as well. I tend to spend my extra cash on cameras rather than bags, which is a bit of a shame.

Understood. But unless you’re buying film cameras, your bag will probably outlast your digital cameras 😊😊

Hey I’m in Vancouver as well. You ever do any meet and greets?? Would be fun to get photographers in Vancouver together!

Yes all of last year once a month we had a meet-up at Rivian Spaces at Brentwood Mall called Coffee + Cameras + Things. For this year, we need to find a new location as Rivian Spaces has closed. Follow me on IG to keep up with latest news about meet-ups.

The Easy Rider is also a nice bag, and definitely lighter 😅😅😅

I love the quality of the Wotancraft bags, but I prefer the Pilot series. I have 3 of them in canvas. Each is set up and dedicated for a particular camera system I can grab a bag knowing that I have everything I need for that camera. The Pilot 2L is the Leica D-Lux 8, the Pilot 3.5L is the Leica Q2M, and the Pilot 7L is for my Hasselblad X1D II with two extra P series lenses and my Tree Root tripod in the straps on the bottom of the bag. I hate carrying around too much. As a good Photographer friend calls her big bag - Her insecurity bag. Trying to take anything and everything for just in case. I rather go with what I have and get creative. But Wotancraft bags are the best on the market in my estimation. Couldn't bring myself to get leather. Mine are working bags and take a beating. That leather is just too nice.

Thanks for letting me know your set-up. I love the Pilot series too. I want them to make a leather 7L Pilot… hopefully one day :-)

Thanks for the post. I recently purchased this and so far it's been great! The only "gripes" are that I wish the strap was longer.. I'm 6ft tall with a longer torso and I prefer to carry my bags below my hips/closer my waist line when not in a crowded place but this only goes down to right above my hips. Second point, I totally agree on the strap comment being "less" comfortable. I wouldn't say it's bad but coming from a pilot I miss the shoulder pad and the easy adjustability. I've been looking online at some shoulder pads options but I've been wondering if the 9L Scout strap would be a viable option/replacement. I'm planning on contacting Wotancraft since I'm curious if the strap is longer as it seems like it would fit my needs if so. This is assuming they'll also sell it to me as a stand alone item. If not maybe I'll explore some after market options!

It’s funny as we have the opposite problem of strap length. I wish the strap was a bit shorter, ha ha. I will suggest they make two optional lengths? Yes email Wotancraft, I’m sure they will sell you just the strap from the Scout, but I think it’ll be similar length. I think they will measure for you.

I have the smaller version of this bag. I don’t like the leather it is super hard and feels like plastic. Not sure if it is supposed to be like that with their special treatment.

Sorry to hear you don’t like the crunched Italian leather. Are you in a colder environment? I find it’s much softer in the summer, but hardens up in the winter. I actually like it because it’s very strong, and it’s easy to get rid of scuffs and scratches, but I know some prefer softer or pebbly leathers.

@ I live in Vancouver as well. Maybe I should give it another chance. It’s just it doesn’t feel like what it looks like, if you know what I mean. 🤔

@@JimmyChengI guess I’ve gotten use to the crunched leather look and feel 😅😅😅
