I think I like every Vario I’ve seen. I know that because I remember them. The art deco, Empire State and the trench watch were my favorites but this one is going to make me pull the trigger. Definitely my favorite out of the bunch in the watch roll! Have a great trip, Jody!

The Vario is such a classy little watch. So much thought has gone into the numerals and type setting. Love it. I appreciate the Draken and the company's back story, but the Aussie dollar makes this around $700, and it's a thick boy. I'd have to see it and feel it on wrist before prepaying.

Fantastic collection in the roll Jody ! I spent a week traveling around Tasmania on my round the world backpacking trip in 2004, a long time ago now and absolutely loved it. I won't forget some crazy nights drinking and clubbing in Hobart. As an Irish fella well used to downing pints, I was just an apprentice compared to the locals I met !

This most definitely is the most interesting collection I've seen you take on your travels. I LOVE Red Dates! Especially on a Chrono! And especially at 6! Pity about the 50 metres though! If it was 100 metres I'd probably pull the trigger!

I don't know if these questions have been asked before, but what is the point of male end links? Regardless of wrist size, female end links 7:35 make a watch much more wearable for a wider section of customers. Also, how much more do quick release springbars (as fitted to the Erebus Origin 😉) add to the cost of production, as several straps have them, but more rarely bracelets. If you want to swap easily to a strap, then surely you want to easily remove the bracelet?

that vario looks lovely. that Pitzmann is the interesting one though. How many 3 subdial chronos do we see that DOESN'T have the date window at the 4 o clock? i much prefer the 6 o clock date window, and they've shown it can be done. Although I would prefer the window be slightly better integrated into the subdial.

I love that Vario 'Deco' design the most, it just does everything so well, the dial is just stunning, I can't express how much I love that 'mint green', it reminds me of my wind up alarm clock I had from the mid '70's?!

Nice variety of watches. I am already a fan of Draken since I got a Tugela Double Drab Green and I love that chunky manly watch, which is strange because I tend to smaller sizes usually. So I am really keen to hear your thoughts on the Peregrine, for which I already read an announcement. Btw. I got to wear your Erebus purple a lot this week and it has been great! Before it arrived I had been a bit nervous about my unusual colour choice, but the tone is really nice and it varies between purple and dark blue depending on the light, which makes it interesting to look at. The bezel action is one of the best ever, I never got such satisfying and precise clicks on a bezel! So congrats on a very good start! I wish you a great trip and a nice wedding!

Seiko NE88?! I've never heard of this movement before and I've definitely never seen it used in a microbrand. It sounds like a much nicer movement than the ubiquitous NH35. I wonder if others will start to use it.

I like you take on watches, but I do disagree with one point. I do not see an issue with the 50m of water resistance compared to 100m. Recreational diving rarely reaches below 30m and this is a chronograph. This watch just needs to survive a shower, a residential pool or rain. By the way, typing this while wearing my Erebus Origin in Teal and loving it!

Interesting note about the Miyota 9075. I wonder if that means we won't be seeing it in any brands that sell on AliExpress, i.e. no true GMTs coming from San Martin. That would also mean no Rolex GMT II or Explorer II homages with true GMTs from anyone.

Vario are so customer focused. Emails ( from Aus) are responded to virtually straight away. Have not bought any watches from Vario, but have bought leather straps and buckles which are A grade. Husband and wife team are fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

That's funny. But if you asked my wife about anniversary "gifts", she'd laugh. I've gotten her a gift twice in almost 15 years. But to be fair, my wife knew that I wasn't going to do things for any of those types of days. Rather, she gets things randomly through the year because I WANT to. And she much prefers it that way.
