Dating in any country isn't easy--but in China it's basically an extreme sport for us expats! This is the first in a series I'll be creating and posting about dating in China. One video will be dedicated to LGBTQ+ dating, another about dating as a Black expat, and the third......?? ?🤔🤔 Not totally sure yet so drop some ideas below!

Do a video on dedicated to dating while being a “BBW” or Man. I know most Chinese are on the smaller side. So it would be interesting to get a video on dating and shopping as an bbw. I loved this video. Love how everyone kept it real. You should do more of these types of videos. Love your channel

I totally have that constant question of how the day is. I have dated several cultures of people and I have to say by and large the most favorite has been the Chinese and Vietnamese men. I am currently dating one that was so out of character forward for a Chinese man, I just had to see what he was about. We have been dating for 3 months now and so far so interesting. Funny thing is, he doesn't speak very good English, but at least I am making headway with my Chinese language. And so the adventure continues.!

Mandi here (I start at 16:06) I said “Chinese guy is only interested…” when I actually meant “foreign guy is only interested…” GREAT VIDEO ALEESE!

Huh i wonder how chinese men can attract foreign women then. Seems impossible when all foreigners don’t find asian men attractive.

lol you're so mad that white guys won't give you the time of day -- why don't you try dating a Chinese guy instead of throwing shade at Chinese girls/white men?

Dating in China was a wild experience for me. An expat/Chinese couple that I was friends with tried setting me up with a Chinese friend. He was really shy but was generally nice. However, he just kept saying I was pretty and asking every 5 minutes when we would see each other again. Added him on WeChat to consider another date and his entire feed was of naked women. I’m not a prude but there were SO many (almost every picture on his feed). He was also very pushy about meeting again without our mutual friends. So that was a bit of a turn off and disappointment. On the flip side, I went home with a foreign guy. I really had no expectations and made that really clear to the guy so there wouldn’t be any pressure. I just thought he would be cool to hang with and have some fun with in my last months. Next day, guy texted me that he has a Chinese girlfriend that lived in a different city 🤦🏻♀️.

OMGGGG!! Thanks for sharing your experiences!! All these damn men are crazzzzy!! The amount of cheating that happens is insane--especially in the expat community!! I guess we gotta have faith, there's someone out here for us!
@Xan31302 жыл бұрын
@@AleeseLightyear I know right?! I didn’t even know the expat cheating was a thing until after that and his friends didn’t say ANYTHING even though they knew what was up. This guy was holding my hand a good part of the night and walked me home 🤦🏻♀️. But that being said, I did make a lot of amazing friends, both Chinese natives and expats while I was there. I no longer live in China and have since found a great partner in the US. Also, thank you for sharing your experiences. It’s nice to know I wasn’t the only one with the dating struggles out there! I hope you find a great person too that sees how awesome you are. Love you and your videos!

Funnily enough, after living in China for YEARS, it took me moving back to the states to actually date Asian men. Dating in China was extremely difficult as a foreigner. Its one of the negatives when considering moving back. Do I want to deal with that?!

It's almost true for all asian countries. When i say asian I mean from China to Japan n India to Indonesia not your Arab world or turkey n soviet countries. Been to Japan, Korea, India, Thailand n dating is pretty much the same. They see foreigners as a status symbol or some easy sex n yes they do prefer whites over black but still they would prefer their own race over any other race.
@AleeseLightyear2 жыл бұрын
ughhh that's an unfortunate reality

Nice video Aleese. I've been in China 4 years now and I've given up on dating or finding a partner. It's just too challenging and stressful. I'm gay and went onto Blued App. First question I'm always asked: how big is my D and can they see my naked picture. Also 90% of people on the app are married guys looking for some action on the side. It's just not for me so I've deleted my profile. Another challenge is the communication/language barrier. It's too frustrating to keep using translation software. Luckily my job keeps me busy and I have many friends so I don't really miss dating or being with someone but I can't see myself dating a Chinese person.
@AleeseLightyear2 жыл бұрын
We are the same!! Totally given up for the exact same reasons. These damn dating apps are filled with people who want to fetishized you, it's very discouraging 😫 Glad that you have friends and a steady job to keep you busy and unbothered!

It's interesting how the guy that is a part of the LGBTQ+ community was saying that there is a top and bottom in China. I find in many Chinese and Japanese BL literature, they have a top and bottom and preconceived notions of what they look like (especially since a lot the literature is written for the female audience who have a certain bias). In my opinion, that's unfortunate.

Can you please make a video about what one night stands are like in China? And if sex workers are a thing? I heard since sex work is related to organized crime, it's cracked down on. So is there any legal sex work in China?
@AleeseLightyear2 жыл бұрын
No, I'm not making a video about one night stands. I'll leave that to someone who's more experienced in that field.

Seems like some of the ladies are angry. That’s my perception. The one young lady was talking about white men having options and dating around like it’s a bad thing. I found that very odd possibly hypocritical.
