As someone that repairs boats and jetski PWC the build quailty of Seadoo is very poor and is only getting worse since they have moved away from gelcoat and glass to that plastic rubbish. The damage is always far greater on seadoo than any other make. What looks fairly small on the outside is always about 5% of the damage below the coatings. Seadoo are the ones that will be making the money from there own poor design / build . Just think of the cost involed in replacing a hull every part needs to be removed and transplanted .Yamaha when they come in the damage you see on the outside is the damage you see inside its much stronger in constuction.

Seadoo needs to tune that 170 to at least hit 60 mph to compete with the Kawasaki 160X. the Kawasaki has class leading fuel capacity 20.8 gallons and top speed and since Seadoo did not increase the fuel capacity on the GTI 15.9 gallons it needs to at least tune it to run 60 mph. and i have read and seen the polytech hull can be repaired (melt welding cracks) for anything that is not a huge hole in it. of course anything structural you would want to replace the whole thing but you would have to do that with fiberglass also.
@maxflight7774 жыл бұрын

As a Yamaha owner/fan I must say that Sea-Doo is actually putting an effort into their jet skis. Definitely moving in the right direction. The storage under the steering is fabulous, the speedometer is high tech, the attachment system, etc. Unfortunately Yamahas have had the same design/features forever! Still prefer my 1800cc NA engine though, but I wish they would try something.
@enigma97894 жыл бұрын
Seriously. My gp1800 has the shittiest dash ever. The fuel gauge has 8 bars, but drops in 2 bar increments. Front storage is so hard to use when on the ski. but ive seen a best of 79.3mph and it rips around the buoy course.

The gti has already been out forever. Sea-Doo just got rid of it and now brought it back? Plenty of people want stability, but it's not the only thing people want. Sea-Doo really took a step in the right direction with the spark, but there wasn't enough power. If you are bringing back older names like gti, you need to bring back names like xp and spx. Lightweight like the spark, but very fast with a ton of low end torque. Bring back the x4 hull of the 96xp or 96-99 spx with more power and you have a bunch of new customers.
