Have you ever used the Topo Designs Core Pack? It's discontinued now, but I stumbled on some reviews for it and love its simplicity, storage capacity, and clamshell design (kind of rare for a sub-28L EDC pack I think). Kinda reminds me of the GR136 Northseeker from the looks of it. Scored one for a measly $30 off eBay but haven't gotten my hands on it yet!

let me know what you think! I haven't owned that one but your method there for getting a new bag is my preferred method - look at things from a few years ago - find something cool and snag it used for 25% of it's original price.

@@waggington hey waggington, I actually bought the core pack new right before it was discontinued and got a decent discount. For the size and usefullness of it, it’s one of my favorites bags ever. However, the design is flawed to support someone taller than 6ft, as the pack is shorter than usual and not a lot of strap on the shoulder straps. If Topo kept its design, made it a few inches longer and a decent grab handle it would be my #1

You're like an amazing bag archivist! If you like the Rickshaw tote, you might also like the Trakke Merchant tote, they did some in a kind of PU coated denim :)
