Russia has been at the center of nearly every major foreign policy conversation in the United States for decades, and there’s a good reason for that. Let's dive in. Here are 5 things you don't know about Russia.

This video may include sensitive information, descriptions, video, and images in order to give important context to viewers. By including this context, Ben's overlaid commentary, criticism, and analysis is better able to serve the public's interest in the subject matter. Combining the sensitive context with Ben's commentary allows the video to: (i) educate viewers; and (ii) document newsworthy events or other matters of public interest. To the greatest degree possible, Ben's commentary is intended to: (a) accurately identify who is involved; (b) describe when and where the subject content was captured; (c) clearly articulate condemnation and criticism of the subject behavior, while including an opposing view; and (d) to discourage viewers from engaging in the subject behavior.

As a former russian i whant to notice one fun fact. When Prigoshin and his 5000 prisoners was on their famous "justice march" to Moscow in 2023 summer, their was litterely nobody to stop them. No one came out into to support and defend Putin and his regime. The people of Russia just didn't care. They just took a bigger bucket of popcorn and watched how it will end.

Defend Putin? From who? In Prigozhin's very own words before, during, and after this march, "I have no qualms with the president's leadership" which always meant exactly that, to back it up he never once expressed criticism towards Putin. This may be because he knew of the dire consequences this could entail, but Prigo always adressed the people he wanted to criticize by name. What's funny is you mentioning your past citizenship, as if that makes your statement more believable, to then lie cluelessly about things you've never taken an interest in.

As a Russian I gotta say this is utterly accurate and objective. Here are some interesting details not covered in this video: 1) Before the presidential elections (15-17 March) people have nobody to vote for because all candidates are trash. So much so that Putin, as he always does, doesn't even go to the pre election debates with other candidates, doesn't even give ANY promises at all and it is obvious that Putin is gonna win unless we manage to vote for Davankov (the only anti-war candidate who is still really unexperienced and objectively weak as a potential president) and somehow he manages to win. 2) Russians. Don't. Want. War. Demography isn't just about people not willing to create families because they don't have enough money and the benefits are too bad - it's about them simply not having the money to live even with no baby, that's why the abortion rate is so high. Only crazy proputins and prokremlyns want this psychotic war to continue. 3) We are being massively influenced by the propaganda that The West and America is the real evil, and we live in poverty not because of govenment corruption but because of the West and US. The propaganda is not brilliant but the problem is that almost all elderly people watch TV all day and get completely brainwashed by the media since on TV you can only watch prokremlyn federal channels and no opposition. God save us.

In media it always looks different but the "Elites" / NWO always controls both sides same as in America with Republicans and Democrats, both are corrupt. The goal is to destroy the middle-class and depopulation and thats exactly whats happening. Again maybe it sounds absurd to some but I really believe that. Just look for example at England and the Monarchy, they are so absurdely rich but dont help anyone, that should tell you something as well with the Catholic church. They give a damn about normal people, isnt that telling ? I think so.

I'd say the most important thing to know about Russia in US is: the closest way to Russia from USA goes through Alaska, not Poland.
@mersin1179
@mersin1179 2 ай бұрын
Yes, indeed; however, the US government is trying to avoid the mistakes they made in the past in Vietnam. I mean, sending their people into the wars they are involved partially. They ended the war in Vietnam because Americans demanded it. That's why they would rather invest in private military contractors, like they did in the wars in the Middle East, or send some of their equipment and soldiers to countries fully involved in conflicts. Also, getting in by Alaska would be the toughest of attempts at taking over Russia done in the past, so good luck with this idea. American soldiers would need to go through the territories with the harshest of climatic conditions. So, probably the most likely attempt at getting over Russia is in East Europe; Moscow is not far away. Have you ever heard of the European Plain? Because of it, it makes it even easier; that's why Russia always wanted to have their territory ending in Germany because there, the European Plain is the narrowest. We shall not forget that Americans and Europeans would never want to go to fight in wars, or you would need to force them like Russia does with their people.

@@mersin1179 Dude, I'm from Poland. Of course I know that my country always was a gateway between Europe and Asia. I'm also aware of pre NATO accession defense plans, in case of Russian invasion, basically it said lets nuke everything east from Vistula river so soviet troops have to cross at least 200 km of nuclear desert. And I'd really like to avoid such events, even if they moved the line further east.

Many things can be true at once and Shapiro, like many others trying to hold up this notion of the West being the 'force for good,' cannot or will not acknowledge this country's malfeasance and duplicity. If this is about respecting the sovereignty of a nation... then call out Obama's CIA led coupe of the Ukrainian government back in 14'. Or was that justified because it was us vs them? Patriotism is blinding, causing "patriots" to go slack jawed and the discarding of reason when it's the world stage, but then will turn around and criticize this government for being Orwellian on the flip side.

Shapiro represents the WORST of "conservatism". he is the kind of right-winger easily manipulated by the liberal stablishment to destroy their enemies. Guess what, if russia had "political freedom" , it would be a matter of time until it became woke. its very rare a country being polically liberal but socially conservative. look at greece, where the pro-western so called conservative party legalised everything related to lgbt stuff and also legalised abortion for decades now. no one is calling russia perfect, but its a fact russia is becoming more and more conservative and atheism is dropping there each year while it grows in almost all of the e.u. mark my words, in 20 years poland and romania willl be fully woke and with religion decrease too. the system is made to do that. and as an enemy of globalism , russia deserves support. nato is the armed wing of globalism.

Why would China launch random wars because Russia lost its war in Ukraine? How would that “help” Russia? How does invading Taiwan hurt the Ukrainians? These conflicts are half-way across the world from each other, and Taiwan and Ukraine, although supportive of each other, don’t have any close military or economic ties, so attacking one doesn’t weaken the other. China invading Taiwan to stop a Ukrainian victory is like if Nazi Germany invaded Sweden to help Japan win Iwo Jima. The two actions would be entirely unrelated to each other and would have no weight on the outcome of the other.

Why does Candace Owens insist on comparing Russia to the US in terms of political freedom? I agree the current admin acts in a similar manner to Putin, but our constitution protects us to the extent the admin acts within its realm of power. It has frequently overstepped its bounds, however at least we have a safeguard, unlike Russia. I remember, for example, there was a whole day where people crowded the streets of Russia to protest the invasion of Ukraine. One day is the key word. Meanwhile, you can walk the streets of the US with minimal issues. You, of course, have less right if you are protesting against the left, but no where near the extent of Putin.

As for gasification, most villages and towns in central Russia have all this. but the problem is that the country is not small and most of the territory is not suitable for ordinary life. Therefore, wherever gasification costs a lot of money, there is no gas. Yes, Putin let his oligarch friends make money. but don't companies in the US lobby their interests in the Senate and pay senators for laws that are beneficial to them? in the USA there is gas piped in every house throughout the entire territory? Don't US military companies make huge amounts of money selling weapons and pay senators for it? do you have any corruption? Did Biden win the last election fairly? And the fact that they are trying to prevent Trump from participating in the elections and are opening criminal cases against him is not corruption in the judiciary?

People misunderstand this a lot... On purpose it seems. What is good for Russia does not = good for the civilians. Russia seems to be doing fine economically as a country, but it's not the civilians that are seeing it in the form of more prosperity or higher wages. Just like when the Nordstream pipeline got cut, the day after Norway benefitted greatly! That doesn't mean WE the common people notice any change in our wallet. We are being squeezed more than ever, even though the Norwegian economy seems to be doing fine and have benefitted in some ways.

I've been watching Ben Shapiro for a long time. I live in Russia, and I fully share our administration's approach to the United States. You will remember for yourself what you did with the SFRY (especially with serbian kosovo), the Russian Federation then also declared that it was a time bomb under international law. Remember what you did in Libya, Tunisia, Iraq and so on. In addition to this, if you did not recognize the independence of the DPR and the LPR, then why do you recognize Kosovo? We protect our citizens in places where they are oppressed, including in Ukraine. And you invade the affairs of other countries only out of a desire for profit. God bless Russia and our people!

Where are you getting these figures from? On Wikipedia it's 11 million USSR (and allies) vs 5.5 million Germany (and allies) for the eastern front, while it's a little less than a million each on the western front - the exact opposite of your narrative! As for the Napoleon war, they literally abandoned Moscow and burned their own countryside and food to win over Napoléon - the 300k vs 210k didn't occur during battles (in Napoleonien battles, Napoléon quasi systematically managed to get lower casualties than his adversaries because he emphasized on proper strategical organization).

@@schokobar4133 I'm pretty sure you're getting to 1.5 million because you're including Allies' losses in the Pacific, which is clearly offtopic here. If you remove that, you get to 1 million. As for the Russian invasion from Napoléon, it's hard to compare it properly since most casualties didn't come from combat - and the very Russian strategy was the main reason why the French coalition lost so many of its men.

Free medicine, it's true, but you have to pay for everything, it sounds ridiculous, but that's how it works, and it's so bad quality that it can seriously harm you, but for show, medicine really is free. on paper it is a great country of opportunity, but in reality only for those close to the government, and people in russia don't want to be shamed, so they maintain this illusion of a good country
