Your husband is a lovely guy for going to Nippori Fabric Town and not only filming some content for you but buying you some goodies as well. I can honestly say my husband would NEVER do any of that for me. I enjoyed watching your video. I find it interesting to see textiles from other countries and the places they sell those textiles. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it very much. Oh, YES, I would love to see you make things out of the fabric and things your husband brought you from Japan.

When he said half a day, I was just laughing. Like Nooo. There’s more than the main road. There are good stores in the back streets as well. I agree that one day would probably be spent just the main tomato. The one beside it is Tomato arch shop is where they have ALL discounted fabric, most of them are ¥100 per metre. I can easily spend half a day there.

Michael is a true sweetheart for going and filming this. It’s wonderful that he knows and understands your needs and things that are important to you! Felting using a needle like those kits is fun but a word of advice, don’t have anything that might distract you going on in the background like kids, pets, television ect. The second I would lookup I would stab myself with the barbed needles every time! It is a fun hobby that you can do some really cool creatures with. Wet felting is totally different and I will be trying that in about 5-6 months as it’s getting very cold here and could snow at anytime. I want to do it outside because I will make a big mess lol! I saw a class for making a fantastic witch like hat that is wet felted that I want to do. I subscribed and I can’t wait to see what you make with what he got you!

@@shellyboggs9093 omg it is definitely a craft that requires FULL concentration! Wet felting looks incredible, but a wet felted witches hat sounds absolutely enchanting! What an amazing idea! I would LOVE to see that!

Everything in Japan is just a little bit short of half the price just because of the yen, but lots of things are also cheaper anyway, possibly due to differing patterns of government subsidies, culture etc for example, to get to the capital city of my island from the other end, it costs about 15 to 40 pounds depending on how fast a train you choose. In the UK that costs 150 pounds to go from halfway up! 100 yen is about 60p now, and 60p in the UK gets you like two Freddos (very tiny candy bars) Even outside of textile districts, craft stuff in Japan is CHEAP and PLENTIFUL. In fact, all hobby stuff is much more easily available than in the UK. People are allowed to like things here in Japan haha

I wonder if in Nippori Fabric Town there is a place to buy inexpensive rolling luggage to carry all my purchases, because I'm only bringing one rolling suitcase and one big backpack.

I’ve lived in Tokyo for 8 years and often shop in Nippori. There isn’t really anywhere to buy rolling luggage in that area, but the best prices imo are at Ameyocho market in Ueno. Many tourists also buy suitcases at any Donki Store.

I buy my clothing for trips in second hand stores. So if I need more room in my suitcase because I shopped too much, I can leave some of the clothing I brought with me behind and not feel too bad about it because I am not that attached to it.
