Hi from october 2023 Why hasn't any media outlet made everyone aware that, Israel was given land via the Balfour Declaration and the Sykes-Pico agreements 1917-1916 and since that time, Israel has illegally expanded out of that original area? Thus making any further expansion illegal and a war crime? Not one media outlet has questioned how Israel can shoot people indiscriminately and without consequences to expand into Palestine?

in 1881 there were 24,000 Jews in Palestine by 1914 there were 85,000 all there by permission of the Ottoman Sultanate . The vast majority were farmers who had legally purchased their land from a local - there was also a colony of Swabian German farmers - Kaiser Wilhelm II visited the area around 1892. There was no fighting or strife everybody seemingly got along.

This is not divide and conquer. This is divide and colonialize or divide and genocide in the case of palestinians. Romans conquered, byzantenes conquered, ottomans conquered.. I'm sure there was alot of bloodshed then too but their idea was accepting people on those lands as their people and strengtening their rule. Colonialization is closer to slavery or maybe even worse with its exploitations and creating never ending blood feuds. Colonialization and conquering are completely different things

The issue I have with this thought process is saying land originally belongs to X group. Thats not how land has worked historically. Land is controlled by the group with power. Use current Israel for example. Before 1908 it "belonged" to the Ottoman Empire, before the Ottoman Empire it "belonged" to the Greeks, Roman's, Egyptian and Babylonias. Go far enough back it "belonged" to King Solomon and Jerusalem was Jewish controlled land. No one "owns" land, its conquered. Jews lost it and now they have it back. This whole thought of "colonizing" is the problem, we love this buzz word but all it really means is the most recent group took the land from the group before them. All land over the last 10000 years since humans started growing crops and became stationary communities instead of nomads have gone through many different hands. Cultures sometimes get incorporated or sometimes destroyed. Most people don't realize this, use China for example. It has "colonized" land. In China there are multiple "dialects". In reality these are different languages and someone speaking Fuzhousene are from Fuzhou China and someone speaking Cantonese from Canton China are just 2 different "tribes" that were conquered and there are many different ones in China. They are now all considered Chinese but historically they are their own people, some culture remains and some has been incorporated with overall Chinese culture. This is how all of humanity has worked. I'm tired of seeing people online say "this is their land".....NO. If they have the power to defend it fine, if not then no. America is Americans land. There WERE native tribes of all different cultures controlling different areas hundreds of years ago. Most died from disease and the rest were forced to accept the terms of the invaders or die. This is EXACTLY what happened before Europeans came. If a tribes conquered another they did the same thing. We need to understand history to understand the future.

As there was a Jewish community in Palestine, it was than part of the ottoman empire, he promised the zionist he'll help them to get the land, in return the Jewish community must help to fight the ottoman empire. At the time of the Balfour declaration in November 1917 the allies were facing a serious threat after the Russian revolution had ended the war on the eastern front and millions of German troops were set to move against the allies on the western front. The Balfour declaration was hoped to mobilise the perceived influence of international Jewry against the central powers.

On 23 August 1917, when the question of fraudulently giving the land of Palestine to Zionists was discussed in the Commons (what was to be known as the Balfour Declaration), the only Jew in the cabinet in parliament that day was Edwin Samuel Montagu. He passionately rejected the motion where he submitted a memorandum entitled ‘Anti-Semitism of the British Government’ which stated the following: I have chosen the above title for this memorandum, not in any hostile sense, not by any means as quarrelling with an anti-Semitic view which may be held by my colleagues, not with a desire to deny that anti-Semitism can be held by rational men, not even with a view to suggesting that the Government is deliberately anti-Semitic; but I wish to place on record my view that the policy of His Majesty’s Government is anti-Semitic in result and will prove a rallying ground for Anti-Semites in every country in the world. …. I do feel that as the one Jewish Minister in the Government I may be allowed by my colleagues an opportunity of expressing views which may be peculiar to myself, but which I hold very strongly and which I must ask permission to express when opportunity affords. Zionism has always seemed to me to be a mischievous political creed, untenable by any patriotic citizen… I have always understood that those who indulged in this creed [Zionism] were largely animated by the restrictions upon and refusal of liberty to Jews in Russia. But at the very time when these Jews have been acknowledged as Jewish Russians and given all liberties, it seems to be inconceivable that Zionism should be officially recognised by the British Government, and that Mr. Balfour should be authorised to say that Palestine was to be reconstituted as the “national home of the Jewish people”. I do not know what this involves, but I assume that it means that Mahommedans [Muslims] and Christians are to make way for the Jews and that the Jews should be put in all positions of preference and should be peculiarly associated with Palestine in the same way that England is with the English or France with the French, that Turks and other Mahommedans in Palestine will be regarded as foreigners, just in the same way as Jews will hereafter be treated as foreigners in every country but Palestine. Perhaps also citizenship must be granted only as a result of a religious test. I lay down with emphasis four principles: - I assert that there is not a Jewish nation. The members of my family, for instance, who have been in this country for generations, have no sort or kind of community of view or of desire with any Jewish family in any other country beyond the fact that they profess to a greater or less degree the same religion. It is no more true to say that a Jewish Englishman and a Jewish Moor are of the same nation than it is to say that a Christian Englishman and a Christian Frenchman are of the same nation: of the same race, perhaps, traced back through the centuries - through centuries of the history of a peculiarly adaptable race… - When the Jews are told that Palestine is their national home, every country will immediately desire to get rid of its Jewish citizens, and you will find a population in Palestine driving out its present inhabitants, taking all the best in the country… I have always understood, by the Jews before Zionism was invented, that to bring the Jews back to form a nation in the country from which they were dispersed would require Divine leadership. I have never heard it suggested, even by their most fervent admirers, that either Mr. Balfour or Lord Rothschild would prove to be the Messiah… I would be almost tempted to proscribe the Zionist organisation as illegal and against the national interest. - I deny that Palestine is to-day associated with the Jews or properly to be regarded as a fit place for them to live in. The Ten Commandments were delivered to the Jews on Sinai. It is quite true that Palestine plays a large part in Jewish history, but so it does in modern Mahommendan history, and, after the time of the Jews, surely it plays a larger part than any other country in Christian history. The Temple may have been in Palestine, but so was the Sermon on the Mount and the Crucifixion. I would not deny to Jews in Palestine equal rights to colonisation with those who profess other religions, but a religious test of citizenship seems to me to be the only admitted by those who take a bigoted and narrow view of one particular epoch of the history of Palestine, and claim for the Jews a position to which they are not entitled. - I feel that the Government are asked to be the instrument for carrying out the wishes of a Zionist organisation largely run, as my information goes, at any rate in the past, by men of enemy descent or birth, and by this means have dealt a severe blow to the liberties, position and opportunities of service of their Jewish fellow-countrymen. The declaration states a national "home" for the Jewish people. It does not say a state or country for the Jewish people. If the British meant state or country then they would have said so! Also note that the declaration uses the indefinite article 'a national home..' not "the national home". . The declaration clearly states that nothing shall be done which prejudices the rights of non-Jews. It was the UN in 1947-48 who gave Palestine to the Jews - not the British.

There is no such thing as palestian ethnicity. Everyone living under the British colony were called palestian Jews, palestian Arabs. Palestine was a borrowed name the Romans invented to erase the name of Judea from the Jews indigenous land.

Lord Balfour did not come up with the letter out of the thin air. Britain at war had problems with explosives in that it generated much smoke when exploded in the naval guns, and in land and naval battles the smoke covered the view of naval gun targeters (of course, this also helped to camouflage the British ships from German naval targeters.). On the other hand, the German explosives were smokeless and it was believed that this gave the Germans an advantage in targeting the British ships. Also, the German guns were more accurate since in their targeting calculations they took into account the Earth's rotation. British Gov't turned to Weizman who was a Jewish zionist owning a large chemical company for help, and he promised that he could and did deliver a smokeless explosive to the British if the British wrote a letter for not objecting to the creation of Israel if the British won the war. Hence, the Balfour Declaration letter was written and made public.

Muslim/ Druze/ Christian and other minorities living in Israel are equal in any tight and are found in all parts of Israeli society: parliament, medicine, justice, education you name it. There might be tension due to the delicate political circumstances but almost none of the above would rather live under any ofIsrael’s neighboring countries.
