@@ilaserbia sorry I already edited the comment, it's a rk61 instead of a gk61, but I believe the rk61 is just the same exact copy of the gk61 just cheaper, and about those hot swappable switches, I'm not sure but I think it can be hot swapped on the rk61 too, but haven't tried doing that yet

@@mirrekku The rk61 is not hot swappable and im not sure, but I think that it uses different firmware and/or software. Those 35-50$ gk61 keyboards on AliExpress are the optical switch version which aren't the real deal unfortunately. I'm really thinking of hand wiring a 60% keyboard on a gh60 chasis and plate and using a Arduino pro micro with QMK as a controller because I really want to have the Gateron Brown silent switches in my KB.

I have very similar keyboard like the CoolerMaster one (it is still CM but it is different model, most likely different branding here in my region) and I'm ok with it. Had a deal with a friend who needed a mouse and we picked up the combo. The combo was around 50euros in my region and I sold him the mouse for 10 or 15 (dont remember exactly) so for 35-40 euros, 2 years ago, I think it was a good deal. The keyboard holds up very well to this day but I want to buy one of these mechanical keyboards not full size cuz I play alot of CS:GO and smaller keyboard will be better plus I want to try these mechanical switches and compare them to the CM's mem-chanical ones. Great video man! Keep up the good work! :)))

Out of the 4 keyboards you'd recommend the K8 One Up. As that is sold out, you put a link to something similar in the video description, yet the keyboard you link is one that you already reviewed about a year ago and you trashed it for it's build quality. Am I missing something here or was that simply a mistake from your side ?

I bought the TECHWARE PHANTOM 104 keyboard for 59.99 delivered, from AliExpress. It has RGB, a alu-metal front plate and excellent blue switches. Great build quality (it is hefty in weight too), no excess bling, great price. Completely pleased with this purchase. I also bought for the kids two Motospeed K87S ABS USB2.0 Wired Mechanical Keyboards with RGB Backlight, Blue Switch, 1.8m Cable: they were $45 each from ALI, delivered. Again, these smaller form keyboards have excellent build quality and performance. Very pleased with these too. I did a lot of research and boiled it down to the above, with no regrets. If you want to go cheaper on a full size, then for just under $45 there is the Motospeed CK104. Decent build, mechanical blue switches, RGB. This one has received pretty good reviews, but it is not in the same league (heft, build quality) as the Techware Phantom. However, at this price...it's a compelling product IMO.

I picked up a Drakan tenkeyless keyboard while I was in Korea! Saw a pretty sizable keyboard section in some megamarket and tried them all out. My first experience with mechanical keyboards. The only ones they had that I liked were two Logitech Cherry MX keyboards that cost €100 or more, and this Drakan that only cost me 26 euro or so! It's been great! I don't know how long it will last, as there is some key wobble and the switches are definitely some no name Cherry MX Blue clones, but they felt close to the real MX Blues to me. The sound of them isn't equal though, again showing poor quality vs the real deal, but in the end, it's cheap and I enjoy it :) Plus it doesn't look all gamery which is a must in my book! I like clean setups.

I was checking out the replacement keyboard you linked to. Is it possible with these keyboards to disable the funky multi-color backlight or maybe turn it into one solid color? Not a big fan of the rgb craze. Think it looks tacky.

Might have to check for the specific keyboard, but most should. There's usually a set of macros to toggle through the settings, Fn+whatever probably.
