Former MUA here. I enjoyed your video. You did a good job comparing the mascaras. The only thing I worry about is your tendency to curl your lashes after mascara. Because the mascara can stick to the curler, you could possibly lose lashes. It’s safer to curl your lashes before applying mascara. Great video!

This is the BEST review of mascara I have ever watched and was exactly what I needed (end of the day look and if they smudged!!) I will be purchasing 3 of these in the trial size for myself including the winner to find my first favorite mascara! For me it's the Stila XXX volume because at the beginning, it is thick but only for the 3 first applications after that it's the best one for me. You don't have to apply so many layers, I have to be ready in few minutes and I love it. But most people, like the sales persons at the drugstore hate it except one of them, who liked it like me, maybe because we are from the same generation when thicker was the better. The first few applications you have to use the comb for eyelashes, the Q-tips but after it's the best one. The Clarins 4D is a great mascara, very good quality. You feel you're applying silk on your lashes. Best quality product but very very difficult to clean at the end of the day. I read all the reviews afterward and it was a comment that was there all the time. So, you need a lot of makeup remover and especially a lot of coton pieces. Expensive mascara like most of them but I bought the trials size before I got the one free. The other one I like a lot and is very good quality is Hypnose by Lancôme. Again, it's a thick mascara but you have to work a little bit with it at the beginning and after, it's one of the best. Nars a hated it. Benefit I didn't like the brush. Benefit are not good quality mascaras for the price but they are very popular. Most of them I've tried it too but some of your choice I didn't know. Idole is a good quality mascara but didn't do it for me. Neither Better than sex I prefer Stila XXX volume. There is another one by Clarins that I loved, can't remember the name and it worths it because Clarins is a very good quality mascara. My best ever because I'm a little bit older than you was Bad Gal the first edition from Benefit, in those days I didn't care about the quality, that mascara curled the lashes without the curler one layer and voilà, at the end of the day it was perfect. This year I tried the box again, here it's call Pharmaprix, there is a Yves St-Laurent, so far not impressed. Again the Better than sex not crazy about it, I wished they had the Stila XXX volume. The one, at this point, because I didn't try it all is Benefit Fan Fest. Not crazy about the mascara quality compared to Lancôme or Clarins but the effect is perfect. I used to love thicker mascara but this one is just very nice. The effect is nice. So, I will keep you up to date because I didn't try it all. I think we have the same obsession with mascaras but I have less patience than you when I apply it. It has to be right from the start when I apply it but I will give a chance to a mascara for the first 3 applications because I like thick mascara with a lot of volume. Now, I might change my mind because Fan Fest is very nice. Lighter but I like the effect.

I'm glad someone else is an enthusiastic about mascara as I am lol I've been trying tubing mascaras lately but haven't found a great one yet. After I made this video I really got into trying drugstore mascaras and I think I've been turned! My favorite for a while now is L'Oreal lash paradise you should try it, starts fairly fluid but gets thick quickly and then you can really build it up

@@Unorthodoll I don't know where you live but where I live we have expensive mascaras in our drugstore's chains. We have a box of trial mascaras for around 40$ and you get one free. It's different ones each year but you have Lancôme, Clarins, and most of them are not cheap mascaras. Benefit and Lise Water are not cheap mascaras but Benefit for my taste is not the same quality than Lancôme or Clarins. This year in the box of trials there was a Yves St-Laurent mascara. Not impressed. But I'm sure it's a very good quality mascara.

I’ve watched a couple of your comparing mascara videos, and I noticed you tend to show a preference for your right(? I believe I flipped that correctly) lashes. Just something to keep in mind when you’re comparing mascara’s like this: our eyes/lashes aren’t identical and don’t react to mascara identically. You may have a subconscious preference for how your right eye’s lashes react to mascara in general.

I would love help with my mascara… So you actually wait till the mascara dries and curls your lashes afterwards versus curling your lashes before you put on your mascara?? How long does it take for your mascara to completely dry before you curl it?

I find curling my lashes afterwards rather than before makes the curl last way longer, but that's just my preference. I usually wait about 5-10 min for my mascara to completely dry, I'll do my lipstick or other makeup while I wait.

Hello there! How do you curl your lashes? Just with a curler? And if you do, do they break or fall of curling them after mascara instead of curling before mascara.

That's a good question, I've never had any trouble with my eyelash curler or any eyelash curler actually, just make sure the rubber part is still in good condition. Sometimes if I don't wait for the mascara to dry enough first my lashes will stick to the curler a little, but I just wiggle them off gently. I hope this helps.😊

I know people have very strong opinions against this lol but I swear it works amazing if you curl your lashes after the mascara has fully dried. As long as you are gentle, the lash curler is not damaged or dirty, and make sure the mascara is completely completely dry, like wait a whole half an hour if you have to.

What about allergy tested.? You should mención the ingredients of the mascara. In USA there are a bunch of expensive products, but they are synthetic, just because the brand, you pay 25-30 bucks but it may have allergy reactions

I think my lashes are just naturally long and full, but I do take care of them. I don't use extensions ever, always remove my mascara, and I am very very gentle with them. I also try to be very careful when applying false lashes and glue. I have tried lash sirum and vitamins in the past but didn't notice a difference.

That's a great question, 10-15 years ago I would have called it luxury because there really wasn't much to choose from other than drugstore, MAC, and Mary kay. But today I would consider it high end, kinda pricey but worth it for the quality.

It buffles me when people say that there was not much going on, especially the young ones, who were pretty much kids 10-15 years ago, and didn’t really have any idea on what was actually going on in the world of cosmetics, and what you could actually find. From 2000 to 2006 I used to travel, so I still have some eyeshadows: Lancome - bought in Turkey, Chanel - bought in Russia, Dior - bought in Romania, also Dior, Ester Lauder, Clinique, and Yves Saint Laurent - all bought here, in California. All shadows are pretty used up but definitely not finished, and still in great condition. If I had an easy access to all that back then, where were you that you hadn’t?

You can edit and the content is great but your application is odd and makes it difficult to see how they will do if one applies them correctly. Also you should swipe off the wand before use on the edge of the mascara container to reduce clumping. I don't get why you curl afterward but I don't think that's as as much as an issue as just brushing instead off wiggling.

Thanks for the Match, this is helpful Information, since I used other Products. Well, I do have Lancôme Hypnôse at Home, it has a Scent of Roses! ❤️ 👍 👍 And I own a Benefit "they're real" Mini. Also from Urban Decay I have one with Primer. They are all not bad, but I like the Lancôme best from the 3. Surprisingly I like one from Rituals theese Days, that comes in a golden Tube. I do have few tiny Hair so I like a decent Amount of Product and a fine Brush with short Bristles. 😉 👍 One Question I have: I thought it would be better to curl the Lashes BEFORE we apply Mascara! I wonder how you can manage to curl them later (maybe you are using another Method?) and not demage your Lashes?! 🤔 Please take care!!! ❤️🧡💛💚 Another Thing I just recognized: you are using another Technique for your Application: you come from one side only with the Brush and this is the Side towards your Eyeball, and you are using uplifting strokes only. Also you do not brush them again with another Spooly! 🤔 In fact this is just Opposite to my Methode: I am using the Brush with sidewise Moovement (maybe because I have fewer Lashes) and I also come from behind and I use the Tip of the Wand for the lower Lashline. So I would use it for this purpose! c) Lancôme Hypnôse you can use for the Evening (I have to say, I liked your Lash with this Mascara, whenever you had it on the Start) d) Benefit Bad Gal Bang is perfect for a Night out, it screems Party! 🍾🥂🍹 ["They're real" for me is the 2nd Choice for Daily Wear, I guess it might be ideal for any Office Meeting.
