Pot lid is a great buckler (small shield). You can use it to deflect, block and attack. Combine that with a dough roller or metal spatula and you are as well armed as a roman gladiator.

Glancing round my room for 'objects' hmmm.. A 4ft broadsword or a baseball bat are maybe not ideal in an enclosed space.. But the ww2 bayonet, a hand axe or a foot long Ghurkha machete all seem pretty good.. I think I'm covered in this room.

I've realized that even tho I edc a # of deadly items, my steel water bottle is a fine option in a pinch especially cuz it has a handle on the top for easy carry which would aid in swinging that bad boy if need b which wouldn't feel good for the receiver. Great vid as always, Seth. 😊 Also, if u had 1 of those spiky, huge metal grill spatulas, u could do some real damage. A metal meat tenderizer hammer, fughetiboutit. Immediate trip to the ER. Kitchen wars would b a fun series. Turn a room into a fake kitchen with deadly tools & go to war. That'd b incredibly dangerous tho. 😂

Haven't watched it yet. I'd say some valid weapons would be: knives, meat tenderizer, glasses as single-use weapons, kitchen shears/scissors, skillets/heavy frying pans (I wouldn't trust light/cheap aluminum pans), wooden spoons, rolling pins, cheese grater (awkward but potentially devastating) I think a meat tenderizer would be my go-to if a knife wasn't an option for some reason. It's light enough to be usable but has a heavy studded business end that could do some damage.

20:35 interesting wording. "when this happens" instead of "if this happens". Its a minute difference, but a difference nontheless. I don't think its a question of when but of if. It may happen to someone, but its not a question of time. at least statistically it definetly is not. there are not enough home invasions going around to guaruantee that one happens to everyone within their lifespan. and that is a good thing i believe :P

Didnt Mike once argue that a hammer is one of the best self defense weapons? Well, in an average german kitchen, you will find a Schintzelklopfer, which is a somewhat spiky hammer that is a bit heavier than a normal one and has a bigger surface.

22:05 OVERLOOKED IDEAS! 1) Cell Phone/Smart speaker call 2) GTFO! 3) Ingredients 1) THE COPS CANNOT BE THERE FAST ENOUGH TO SAVE YOU but...Cell phone or smart speaker can CALL 911 or a contact. There are automated functions on most modern phones to pick it up and call 911 without dialing! Just having that "We are gonna get caught" moment can be enough for a home invader to rethink their choice and if first responders are already on the way when the fight starts...survivabikity goes up. 2) In active shooter training we say, if you can get out, do so. Throw crap put If your kitchen has an exit, GTFO (with your phone if possible) and call 911 from your neighbors, from outside, anywhere but where the danger is. 3) Flour, Pepper powder, containers, citrus, can all be used to obscure visibility, sting the eyes, etc. Man, y'all make this too much fun to think about. 😅
