Sam Holmes made similar bulwarks seem to work perfectly.

The bullwerks and stern extension structural elements are quite pleasing to this eye. My mind is swept swiftly with thoughts of speed and wind capability just like the name wind puff. I can comprehend traversing leeward with the sure footing created by the bullwerks rising. Splendid in every detail. 😊

Thank you! We seem to be the minority that can recognize the outcome of this project.

@RiggingDoctor Perfectly natural emotion I've shared at times yet we are disqualified from that too. When the confused herd goes over the cliff there last thoughts were firmly ridiculing the ones going the other way I'm quite sure.

Oh the Alberg 30 was made an hour away from me 🇨🇦, good on you from saving such an iconic boat from the scrap heap.

I gotta say you have me intrigued with this project! My wife and I are taking on our last (possibly) boat refurbish project (having completely rebuilt, refurbished a number of old sailboats over the last 30+ years)...not as extensive as this but a total rebuild of all systems including Dyneema standing rigging. A 83 CS33, also have our late sons Santana 25 in our driveway that we are going to set up as an open daysailer un a few years. Issue is in my late 60's and the end of the road is starting to show its nasty face once in a while!😂😂😂 Good luck with the project looks great! Cheers Mike and Ally 🇨🇦 S/V Bears Mistress II

Great video. Please which brand is your pretty green anti fouling?

Well, it’s the bones of the boat? Cape, dory, rebuild it.

This is truly the definition of messing around in boats.

Yes indeed!

The Alberg 30 is a very simple and pretty boat. You are not adding value to it. Use your skills on a slightly bigger boat.
@RiggingDoctor9 күн бұрын
I don’t own a slightly bigger boat to use my skills on. If I did such a thing to another boat, I would hear the same statement. The plans that show up in the beginning of the video are that of a beautiful boat, and to get there we need to make changes to this boat because that boat does not exist yet in this world.

I guess the dew point/condensation at night did not affect the paint?
@RiggingDoctor10 күн бұрын
It’s on the underside so it doesn’t form dew. If we had a tumble home stern, it would be more of a concern.

Uhg.....just got the bottom done and then you had to drill it, that sucks lol. I love that bottom coat colour. What brand is it?

Any progress is good! When you change to gaff rig and smaller headsails you won’t need that toe rail Genoa sheet! Yeh I know gaff is not in the plans yet ….But I could see a Fat head main! Cheers Warren
@RiggingDoctor10 күн бұрын
I have very complicated plans and then also a very simplistic realistic plan for the headsails sheeting.
@Cheers_Warren10 күн бұрын
@ 👍, will you even have more than one primary foresail?
@RiggingDoctor3 күн бұрын
3 stays, two fixed and one running. The fixed stays will have the staysail and Genoa. The running stay will have a Yankee or a drifter.

@@jonathanoasis ive enrolled on a proper welding course,started doing the theory modules so then i can go to the school and have the week long training. im doing an advanced rescue training for rescuing people on the wind turbine nacelles, which usually stand at 300 feet above ground. this is, of course, on top of all other stuff i already know to enable me to hang from ropes and repair them blades. all of this in a country which is not mine, but dont worry, my english, as you can see, is pretty fucking good ; after relocating continents in 2024 and having to stop my own boat refitting project of a 1962 Van de Stadt Pionier 9, of which i can send you the link of the forum where i document the whole thing and where im, most certainly, not messing around with its beatiful shape. ps, i couldnt give a fuck less about what you are doing so save us the time and keep quiet. im answering because you asked. dont feel prompt to reply. i really dont care.
