WHAT'S THE FASTEST WAY AROUND A PUMP TRACK?

When the trails are too muddy to ride a paved pump track is an awesome place to work on skills and have fun. I usually take laps trying to pump, jump and manual different sections of the track and I've often wondered what's the fastest way. Today's video answers that question!

This was interesting (having raced bmx in the past) I was told I spend more time in the air and someone next to me that spent the time making a shorter distance would be faster. But maybe there is something to the technical aspects of pushing down harder on the back wheel will gain speed. Thanks again! 😇😎

Humpitt&pumpitt mang!! Griffin Bike Park's pump tracks are as I type,..being rebuilt and overhauled!!! More and more Trail systems and bike parks these days north, south east west there's a BMX or pump track nearby!!

Haha...I found myself wanting you to make one more run by combining the techniques that YOU thought would get you around the track the fastest. it was obvious you slowed down a lot jumping that bigger gap into the wind, so rolling that was probably faster, and there was a place or two where you probably could have manualed effectively too. Still...cool video, and a reminder that come spring I need to spend some time at the pump track.

Willbros if you freeze frame at the half way point jumping the first half where the rollers Are tighter and pumping feels a little cramped was about a second faster so I think just pumping the second half was faster. So maybe 1 second overall

I've also been to the Port Jervis pump track. Wish it was closer to me. Oddly, when I was there everyone was riding in the other direction. I have reasonable pumping skills although my manuals and jumping needs work. While I was definitely not the most skilled rider there that day, my riding managed to surprise a few kids who weren't expecting it from a balding guy with grey hair. I definitely want to get back there. Especially since it's a place to ride when trails are too muddy.

If you ride a pump track with a dirt jumper, and you want to go as fast as possible, is the front fork closed, middle, or open?

The problem I see is you have to be kinda fast to jump in the first place. I guarantee the slowest way around is to case the lot.

But technically, jumping is just really aggressive pumping.

technically when you jump a set of doubles you miss the opportunity to pump the downslope in the middle. I think the back half was a little faster pumping because everything is spaced out but the front half is a little tighter so jumping is faster.
