What's the limit? Webtoon creator (bad) experience on growing art social media.

I'm sorry to hear about the sad reality of stalkers for you and other artists/comic creators on platforms. It's something I feel people are aware of, but don't think about as often so thanks for bringing it to people's attention. I wish you the best of luck on "restarting" as you put it. I haven't thought about Lady Knight in a while but I will have to do a reread to catch up when it starts again! That and I have always wanted to read House of Stars since it was recommended to me forever ago.

I absolutely LOVE your work. You have the most beautiful illustration style, and the stories are so unique and fascinating. Looking forward to more Lady Knight and anything else you create. I don't really follow creators on social media (only saw this because of a notification from Webtoon), so I don't really get the obsession others can have with it. I felt very identified with what you said... trying to show your art on social media is wild... i barely have time to create art or illustrations or whatever, and thinking about the presure of the jungl that social media is feels exhausting. This is a really insightful take on social media. As an artist myself, I’m somewhat torn between the need to post regularly to get the attention of potential clients or customers, and my own anxieties about the online community. I’m sorry you’ve had to experience stalker behaviour. I think closing your DMs is a really good idea, and I wish you all the best for your future art journey!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’ve been reading Webtoons for a while and have read so many series I tend to forget to slow down and think about the artist perspective or comments. Your comic/art style was really captivating and I went to socials to see updates, I loved seeing extra content of doodles and such. Every creator has their own pace of style and I enjoy your posts. It’s very unfortunate that people take that as an opportunity to be weird and cross boundaries from fan/creator relationship. Your story and all your feelings are valid. Harsh criticism definitely sucks when folks don’t understand the message. I appreciate you taking the time to explain. I’m excited for what’s to come, wishing you all the best. I've been putting off building social media partly because I've got ADHD and forget to post, but also because I'm a bit scared of potentially bad interactions. I also worry about people misconstruing my story themes before it's even finished, just like what happened with Lady Knight (which is one of my favorites, by the way) Thank you for these insights. *Edit; I've also noticed rumors of cancellation happen with any series that goes on hiatus for more than a month or two. Fans can be so demanding, honestly.

I think the main issue is lack of communication and not so much people being purely demanding (though some can be real Karens), which I notice is starting to happen a lot lately is lack of communication. Like Lion Illustration said ( I don't want to butcher his name 😅), he would rather put out something brief rather than nothing, and that's very important when you're putting out content for others to enjoy. A Kickstarter myself and many others backed is getting slammed right now because of their severe lack of communication because they don't understand that no updates are still updates in our eyes, and is vital for reassuring people who backed their project and invested in it, and not feeling scammed. The situation is kind of similar here as well, I confess that I forgot about Lady Knight until I saw the notification that LI posted this video, and now I feel a smidgen of interest in the series again, all because the creator reached out and explained the situation. But for everyone who finds something negative to say about anything, there will always be an equal if not a bigger number of people who love whatever you do and will support you. Just remember to protect yourself, turn off DMs, or even comments if you have to.

@@Kriskocomics Sometimes what keeps us from doing things it’s mainly not wanting to do it. If you really want to try, remember that nobody starts completely ready. We get better by practicing (and I better apply my own advice).

sorry you’ve had to deal with stalkers. i can’t imagine how intense and creppy then can be. Ik how hard content creators/artists work on their stuff. They’re people, not machines and can’t spew out content every second of the day. they have lives outside of the content they make. they have to focus on their mental health or they’ll burn out. most fans of creators will understand that, but some don’t and need to stop with all the demands.
