The thing theyre not taking into account is that the giants, raiders, browns, etc aren't negotiating with US for the #1 pick. They're negotiating with each other. They're bidding against THEMSELVES. The math is simple. There's 2 QBs in this draft and there's only 1 team not named Tennessee that can get one. Any offer the patriots receive will instantly be sent to every other suiter, and the price will only go up. There WILL be a bidding war because the modern nfl is built off desperation for elite QB play, and especially front offices on thin ice will sell the farm to try to save their jobs. Cleveland, both New York teams, Vegas, even the saints could go all in. This trade wont happen until mid april and the longer things go on, the better. 2 #1s and a kicker is the MINIMUM we're gonna get if we can just manage to lose in Sunday
