I agree with the comments saying that it's a good thing Tarte recycled packaging. However, I don't believe BN are complaining about it. Just pointing it out and saving those of us who are curious the trouble of doing this ourselves. I also don't believe this was a conscious decision by Tarte to recycle for the sake of the environment. I think it was a conscious decision to save time and money to push out a product quickly. I believe if they knew they'd be praised for recycling old packaging, they would have stated that they did in the first place. After all the previous backlash they've received I can only imagine they'd take any opportunity to get some positive feedback. And, I am a Tarte fan, so there is no hate in my comments. It's just my genuine opinion.

Tay Tinsley I don't think anyone would care that it was recycled packaging if they reduced the price to reflect how much money the company saved by doing it. I’ve seen the issue with waste in the beauty industry come up a lot this year, so that really inspires hope for me. I expect to see a lot more repurposed packaging as well as smaller packaging. For most products the packaging is so much larger than necessary, which often conceals how little product is actually there. Packaging only needs to be large/bulky enough to contain the product. It’s really annoying to me when tube or stick packaging contains big pieces of plastic as fillers. Less waste is becoming more and more important to the customer. As long as we voice these concerns brands will have to adapt to more environmentally friendly products and packaging, to satisfy to customers. At this point in time the earth is in desperate need of some serious tlc. That needs to be a top priority now and in upcoming years.

I own that Tarte Noire palette & the packaging is heavy, real metal, very study & high quality. I'm glad they got a 2nd use out of them!

I honestly don’t see an issue with this - they could either reuse the leftover packaging, or throw it in landfill 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ I don’t see an problem with them saving money, and helping the environment.

That palette that was under that sticker is still a staple for my travel. It has the most beautiful blush and eyeshadow colors. Love to take it when I go places

I think this format is beautiful! Also, it is good that they’re reusing packaging. They’re recycling it. It isn’t lazy, it is smart and eco friendly!

The problem is that they posted the original april fool's joke, which people then really wanted. Which was an embarrassing fail for Tarte. Then when people were excited for Jeffree Star's real blue palette, Tarte slapped an inferior version of their april fool's day joke together to compete with him. As quickly & cheaply as possible. People be disappointed that this thing isn't a nice as the joke palette, which Tarte could have taken their time & actually made. They can recycle all day. But they being cheap, insincere, & shady here.

They did the same thing with that contour palette, and they came out with a part 2? Except the bad part is they didn’t even change the shade names...so the first palette has a noir or ebony something to describe a black shadow...in the second palette it was like a white shadow 😂😂

I think today the brands are never appreciated🤦🏽♀️ if they would throw away the packaging, everyone would talk shit about them not being eco friendly... go tarte!

I don't think they were trying to reduce waste. It's probably them just cutting corners to rush the product being released. Probably not about the environment at all.

Years ago I was a car detailer, and we used eucalyptus oil and a razor blades to remove stickers from car windows. It doesn't scratch as long as you don't do a slicing action. It works really well and is fast. Just thought I'd share 😊

I've been wanting a blue palette and this is so pretty. You can easily make those two colors that are similar to the other two look different

Shouldn't the hardest part of this entire thing for Tarte have been getting the formula and colors right? The Tartelette palettes are already regularly in production so they wouldn't have been creating a brand new mock-up and molds, and they already had a packaging concept and color layout. All they had to do was get the shades right (which is admittedly a big task-- that they also failed at) and start production. I'm not against re-using packaging...but maybe a) use a decent adhesive and b) design a palette around old packaging instead of giving your customers a badly-altered version of something they wanted???

Reusing packaging is a great thing and I understand why they did this with icy betch because they wanted to push it out quickly, but the layout still sucks for this particular palette. Would've worked better if it had a blush + highlight (but who wants an icy blush)

While it's better to reuse rather than simply fill up a landfill, I wish they had put more effort into it than slapping a sticker on too. Also, I love blue eyeshadow, but I'd rather buy the Jeffree Star palette than this one, since it looks more cohesive and I can create more looks with it.

I actually love that they are reusing packaging instead of wasting materials to make new packaging. Very environmentally Conscious! Go Tarte!!!
@soulonfire175 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't care if they reuse a component, as long as it isn't a used product I'm fine. I have that palette and personally the payoff isn't all that good, I wasn't impressed with it. Tarte normally has beautiful shadows.
@Drea_A5 жыл бұрын
Since companies reusing packaging is something we've seen a few times already, I think it'd be a good to buy a bottle of Goo-Gone jut in case. That would have gotten rid of the adhesive immediately!
@NoBody-zb3so5 жыл бұрын
Don't have a problem with companies using the same component for different products. I'd rather they recycle and use up a component than trash it. I was thinking maybe the matter white is there to use for mixing with the colors for more variation.
@lianag38465 жыл бұрын
That's awesome that they're reusing the packaging. Love Tarte!!!
@TerriRoberts5 жыл бұрын
As soon as I saw the reveal images I knew they had reused old packaging by the pan shapes, and theres definitely nothing wrong with reusing previous components (because obviously all the tartelette palettes use the same component) but just slapping a sticker over the top is just plain cheap and thoughtless. It just shows they never REALLY intended on releasing the Icy Betch and were just trying to quickly (and sloppily) jump on the blue eyeshadow train 🙄 *Edit* Just thought I’d add again that reusing packaging is great but Tarte could have at least tried to make it not obvious it was a sticker, or covered it in plastic or something so it can’t just peal up, it’s the sticker aspect that is them being cheap!
@linnkvelland6624 жыл бұрын
I think that its great that companies re-uses packaging, HOWEVER I think that they need to be transparent about it! Its better for the environment, it just seems dodgy when they dont’t let us know! WE WANT TO KNOW (it’s a win-win in my opinion, JUST LET US KNOW). Thanks again BeautyNews, I always watch u guys, and I’m already excited for the next video.

Playing devil's advocate regarding not having the name huge on the packaging, they might have been dodging a scandal of marketing "profanity" in places where kids might be.

I honestly don't have an issue with this. So much packaging is not recycled or disposed of properly so it's great that they're not just throwing them out and are up-cycling them.
