Love your channel Zac. You hit the nail right on the head. The main problem with 24hr Sports Radio/TV talk shows (and 24hr News Channels as well) is content. How do you fill all that time with pertinent, interesting content? Well, the pertinent part is hard. So, make it interesting by manufacturing "hot takes" and over the top contrarian opinions, and especially manufacturing debates between the broadcasters and/or guests. I don't think all shows and all broadcasters are guilty of this. But, ESPN is a major offender. I think the viewers have caught on due to their sagging ratings. Keep doing what you do.

Did you ever see that Dream Job show? They had a competition for a new anchor for ESPN and in that competition I saw them have the contestants take a side on an issue, pro or con, it didn't matter. They unwittingly showed exactly what is wrong with ESPN

@tomfoolery-chan4 жыл бұрын
That's the whole point of debate though. It's not a matter of things being fake. Sure, it may be inauthentic but debating is something that's a thing outside of sports. People literally compete in debates where they might have to defend something they don't believe in but they still take the time to make a good case for whatever side they're debating. When the whole point of a show is to be a platform for debate then what is the issue? Skip and Stephen's shows are essentially this. If you want to just hear about what's happening in the world of sports then just watch sportscenter or something. But when you're looking for something that sounds more like an argument at a barber shop or bar, where hot takes tend to happen in the first place, then watch these two shows. Simple as.
