I think Jalen's point, which he did a terrible job of arguing, is that this is less a "super teams" conversation and more of a Kevin Durant conversation (and Demarcus Cousins who they BOTH overlooked) because of the move he pulled. A super team isn't just a team with 2-3 all stars because that's been happening all throughout NBA history. It's a team with at least 2 MVP-level players in their primes and at least 1-2 other all stars in their prime put together by the players themselves. When a GM does it, it's less on the player because he has no choice...but when a player does it, it looks like he doesn't want to compete or beat the best, which is Barkley's point. And I agree with that. That's what Jalen was trying to say.

Lol no doubt...but I do think Jalen made a good point towards the end. This is less a "super teams" conversation than it is a Kevin Durant (and Demarcus Cousins which they both overlooked...I don't know how) conversation. People have lost track about what a super team really is. IMO a super team is a team made up of AT LEAST two MVP-level players in their prime mixed in with at least 1-2 other all star-level players on the roster. It doesn't matter whether or a GM or players are responsible for constructing it. But when players are responsible, it just seems like they're taking the easy way out which is Barkley's point. Parker, at 23, was an unknown commodity. He was thought of as a system player at best, by almost everyone outside of the Spurs organization, at that time. Jordan and Pippen obviously, come the closest, but IMHO Pippen would have been no better than a second-tier All-Star, had he never been teamed with Jordan, and led by Phil Jackson. Having multiple players who were without a doubt considered, "The Guy" on their team just the year before with Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and let's not forget, now DeMarcus Cousins, is simply unheard of in NBA history. And that's if we don't even mention, Thompson, Green, and a pretty good coach in Steve Kerr.

Yeah but nowhere near some of the super teams of the modern era. U didn’t see 3 top 10/15 players on the same team. Super teams were more like Kobe and Shaq or Duncan ginobli and Parker. Nowhere near wat golden state or Miami were. Wade and lebron were legit top 5 players at that time. Bosh border top 10. KD was a top 3 player and where does he go? The already best team. U didn’t see that in any other era

Jalen is right about one thing... The only reason KD joined the warriors was to get the media off his back. Ya always screaming a person can’t be great w/o rings and look how ya hold ppl to that.. KD knew he was the best scorer in the game, and he also knew he couldn’t win w the group of guys around him.. so he said you know what, ima join the perfect team and show ya what I can do when I have the perfect team around me... I believe if Boston was who they are now 2 yrs ago without jayson Tatum that KD would’ve joined them instead. It’s just at that time golden state was the best team. Unselfish, plays D and can spread the floor and they all have good chemistry... simple as that but that’s just my opinion what. Do I know

Great video and Jalen Rose made an excellent point. Players get to choose where they go and not owners. Though not affiliated with the NBA. This is why I so much love and reveer Curt Flood. He fought for players in Baseball having the right to chose who they want to bargain and play for.

I don't think Super teams that are created equally hinder the NBA but when you add players that you don't need like Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins then it becomes a problem because the competition dwindles away. Golden State Warriors had 3 all stars all they needed to do was find a small forward to plug into their system instead of just going to get a regular player they went out and got the second best player in the league yeah that's a problem when you already have 3 all stars on your team and then you go in at two more now you're practically unbeatable what's the fun in that

See that's what NBA fans fail to realise, the warriors need KD. The CAVS would've bodied the warriors in 2017 finals if not for KD. Without KD, the Warriors would've never made it out of the first round of the playoffs last season because Curry was injured the entire series. Also You really think the warriors had a chance against the rockets without KD? How about game 1 and 3 of 2018 finals, you think the warriors would've won those games without KD? Bron was ballin. Sam M bruh, do you see the problem with your point? That 73-9 team didn't win the chip first of all, and second it wasn't even the same team. Six heads had to be let go including 2 of the starters of that team to make room for KD. They haven't won 70 games since. That 73-9 BS is way over blown. You should have a problem more with the 4 and now 5 allstars, not 73-9. I'm a fan of the Warriors, but even I have a problem with too much stacking the deck. Cousins won't play for months so let's see.

After the Heatles, teams have been trying to create Superteams. GSW created a Superteam mostly via DRAFT. This was not just because of KD move to GSW.

Tired of Fools You are correct. What people always skate over when it comes to the Warriors is... 3 of those all-stars were drafted by the team!! So, that KD move was just a fraction of their make up. The Heat team... Bosh and James, along with Allen and others were from other teams!! But somehow it becomes "look at the team the Warriors assembled" "4 all stars" "No fair" "Whaaa" But if you look deeper. Those other teams, real "Super-teams" were actually put together a lot less organically than the Warriors!! Old school Celtics. Heat. Cavs (Highest payroll last year) Lakers of certain years. Etc. People will make excuses. But the fact of the matter is, the Warriors built their team the right way. Long before Durant ever showed up. Don't blame the Warriors for being a smart franchise. I disagree....teams of super-stars tend to all play exactly the same and get boring. I like defense, passing, strategy and grind. Rarely does that come from these mini all-star teams. Better basketball? No. Better highlight reels? Sure, I'll give you that.
