The Moments, ”Soul Train” performance of one of my favorites from them, “What’s Your Name” edited and dubbed with an extended remix of the track from their album, “The Best of The Moments” (1973).

This song is one reason 70s soul is my favorite music of all time. Now, don’t get me wrong. I love all the music but there’s something about 70s soul, coming after right after the birth of all those bountiful record labels that gave us 60s music that is so special, heartwarming and soulful, to coin a phrase.😊. Oh yeah, and the choreography was the best ever, bar none. Often imitated, but never duplicated.

The instrumental segment & choreography starting at around 3:30, culminating with Goodman and Ray throwing hands in the air at around 3:41. Simplistic, but it always makes me feel some kind of way. But then, many of those 1970s Soul ballads just had a way of hitting you with MOOD. Much respect to the Moments, an underrated Soul trio.
