This happened in 4th grade. It was recess, and I was playing on the swings like I normally do. My hands slipped when I was backwards and all the way up, and fell on the mulch. The recess paras were gossiping to each other and it took a preschooler pointing me out for them to notice. I had a sprained wrist, and it hurt like a lot the next few weeks. Still salty about that. Not the worst thing that happened in Elementary school but it's the first thing that came to mind.

I was bullied all the time in elementary, especially because I was an undiagnosed autistic who everyone just saw as weird. Although the most stupid thing I got bullied for was my glasses case. When my first basic black case broke, I decided to get a cool looking gold patterned case. Yet this annoying group of boys were constantly calling my glasses case a "phone" and saying stuff like "You can't have your phone out in class". Even the teacher got tired of them. This was in 6th grade, the oldest grade in our school. (Also the school banned chocolate milk which is just mean >:[ )

Relentlessly picked on by numerous people, untrustworthy friends, developing anxiety while also recently diagnosed with autism… lots of drama.

I thank my lucky stars that I went through the Finnish school system (before they started actively ruining it) in a rural area. Super small school at first (about 20 students, grades 1-6) and then a bit bigger, but not a huge school (about 600 students, grades 7-9) to which everybody in that town went to. It was so easy to make good friends in the early grades so I never really got picked on.

Fifth grade. 1971. Dodgeball. They threw the ball HARD at my face and broke my glasses. Teacher said it was an accident. Right.

My elementary school didn't know how to handle me (afab), a child who is both dyslexic and adhd riddled, but well read, it just took me a while longer than other kids. I hopped around from special education classes to elementary advanced classes. This made it so much harder to keep up with other students. This all happened within the year before middle school. And they wondered why I nearly flucked out of middle school. One of the teachers whose classes I was transferred out of because of all that mess ended up giving me a going away present with a note that said I was the worst student she has ever had and she was glad she never had to see me again. It was a beanie baby

This one time I was playing tag with some boys in the field during lunch recess. It was second grade, and there had been a rumor spreading that I liked one of the boys that I was playing tag with, and one of his friends didn't like that one bit. He ran up to me, and told me to follow him behind a big tree on the field that was far away from everyone else. I was looking around for a split second, and he took the opportunity to punch me square in the face. I paniced, and covered up my face,(poorly, of coarse), and he punched me again right in the eye. Later that day, my parents had a meeting with the principal, and he said that we would never have a class together again. Two years later, yeah. we had the class together. Oh, and also the game tag was banned for years after that, and so was going behind that tree.

I can slightly relate to story 4, it was 4th grade and our teacher had just left to go visit a hospitalized family member. Before she left I had finished my work ahead of time so when the substitute came in to read a book to the kids thst finished, she paused on page 4 just to ealk over to me and tell me to do my work. I then responded that I had already finished my work, so she went back to reading, then in the middle of the book she walked over to me again and told me to do my work, thinking she was joking or something, I reminded her that I had already done my work. Then for the last time she walked over to me, and told me to do my work, thinking shes stupid or something I told her that I finished my freaking work, she then said, "Fine go to the office." So I did and when it was linchtime she csne to the office and I asked if I could go eat lunch, she then yelled, "No!" Luckily the office lady behind her back tokd me that I could go to lunch. Wotst part is she still works as a substitute and I still hear rumors of her to this day, one rumor is she bullied a kid for being fat, and bullied a kid for being black. She is still to this day the person i hate most of all the teachers and substitutes I've had.

I got bullied a lot in 4th-5th grade, mostly at recess. I was a weird kid who liked to play pretend a lot, mostly as animals, and a group of guys thought this was funny and teased me relentlessly over it. I didn’t want to tell a playground monitor because despite how upset I was, I didn’t like anyone getting in trouble, so I never did anything outside of telling them to stop. One day, around the beginning-middle of 5th grade, it got so bad that I started crying and sprinted off the playground. There was a long path that lead to the blacktop where we lined up to go back inside, and I made it around halfway up the path before stopping to just cry where no one was around. I had a big group of friends I’d been playing with, but not a single one of them came after to ask if I was ok. Instead, another of my friends I hadn’t been playing with that day ran over and asked if I was ok. He somehow got me to stop crying and calm me down, and eventually we went back to the playground. I don’t really remember what happened after that, but I do know for the rest of the year I would just swing on the swings instead of run around on the main part of the playground (where I was usually tormented). I think that was the start of me being a complete loner however, as it wasn’t until high school that I managed to make a friend that I actually wanted to spend time with outside of school. The combination of being picked on purely for being myself and the fact that none of my main friend group came to help me I guess made me not want to interact with many people, and when I did I never thought it would be anything long term, so I was usually alone. It’s also probably a contributing reason why I was kinda afraid to talk to guys for a long time, including that one friend I had, which sucked, cuz he was a really great guy (and still is). I’ve kinda managed to move past that now, after going to college and working a couple customer service jobs.

I had a pair of bullies in 1st grade. In 2nd grade they discovered it was the most hilarious thing to catch me off guard and kick me in the sack. On two occasions the principal decided to give me detention for "fighting". I should note, it was a catholic school, and it had been seared in to my little head that one must always turn the other cheek, just as Jesus would, so I never fought back in these "fights" although I did have a really good friend who would stand up for me when he could. Most times I would just get detention for being disruptive or disrespectful, but I ended up in the hospital on one occasion because the force had been enough to swell me to the size of an orange. I was swollen, discolored, and in pain for days. This lead to me having bladder issues for the next couple of years requiring me to use the bathroom very frequently. The next year my parents started the year off by letting my new teacher know about the issue and asking her to look out for me around those kids and to understand that I would need to take frequent pee breaks, so to please be accommodating. About halfway through the school year we had a test, I told my teacher I needed the bathroom first, but she refused, insisting no one left until the exam was over. I flew through the questions, asked her again because I was holding on so tight I was sweating buckets, and still no, wait till everyone was finished. When everyone was finished, she still made me sit at my desk while we all graded each other's tests until I pissed myself, which got all over me, my backpack, and the backpacks of the three kids in my desk group. I had never been so humiliated, and still I had to finish grading my classmates test before being sent to walk all the way to the principal's office in my shame. My parents finally pulled me out of that school after that incident. I'm well and grown now, but shoot blanks, and I often wonder if the trauma of their kick-Sam-in-the-beans game had anything to do with my infertility.

In second grade, we had a system where a comprehensive list of students' names was maintained. Each time a student failed to complete their homework, a dot was added next to their name. Accumulating three dots resulted in one hour of detention that week. It's worth noting that we also had a class-wide homework exemption policy if everyone completed their assignments.

5th-6th grade, growing up with ADHD in an elementary school that had no idea how to handle the disorder was extremely difficult. They would sequester me in the far corner desk and put up cardboard walls around me so I wouldn’t disturb the class. They also wouldn’t allow me to sit at a desk that had that that cubby to store your supplies (don’t know what it’s called, heh).
