@antoniaburlingame59214 ай бұрын
Hi Ruan. The fabric reminds me of the sweetness of Valentine's Day. I think that's why the Kew dress with it's sweetheart neckline and that cold shoulder detail appeals most. It also has a bit of flavor of a classic style -- it could be the dress worn by one of the sweethearts on the old fashioned valentine cards (I have a soft spot for those). Whatever you choose, I think it will end up looking amazing, Antonia
@hopenield82344 ай бұрын
I love a sweetheart neckline too but the cold shoulder and high lo details are both already looking dated so I wouldn’t go for this particular pattern.

I liked the Pleiades dress so much I stuck you on pause, whipped over bought the pattern, then proceeded to send it off for A0 printing while I was at it. NOW having said that I do think the hacked saltwater dress pattern would be fabulous on you too. I’m not a fan of spaghetti string straps so have not bothered with it, BUT I really love the hack you showed so I’m thinking I’ll have to modify the spaghetti straps (😬if I can) and pop that on my to do list, I think it’ll add shape to right places with the ruching and camouflage the "bumpy bits", my eternal struggle! It’s winter here in Australia so I make my summer wardrobe in readiness now. I can’t wait to see yours and Becs makes 🌹❤️

I think the final Lee and the French poetry are very similar, but my vote goes to the French poetry dress as I like the tie sleeves, but I'm sure you could hack them 😊 also I think a cool hack on the salt water would be to have a small slit on both sides, make channels going up to about the hip and to feed a cord through them, you could the have it ruched either side at varying levels from long to knee length or shorter if you dare 😮😊
@mnoeliarc4 ай бұрын
My suggestion is the Pleiades dress. As for hacking, I love doing it with both knitting and sewing. I also do it with cooking. I wonder whether it means that I'm not much of a rule follower 😅

@sew_So_beautiful4 ай бұрын
I think you should make the Saltwater Slip dress with the ruching hack. You already know the Saltwater looks great on you and fits well, so that is the kind of thing you should use your favourite fabric for, rather than something new that might not fit perfectly, and the ruching hack isn't difficult, so a great place to start when doing a hack for the first time. And it will also get you dipping your toes into hacking patterns so you can see if you enjoy it or not. Besides, if the ruching doesn't work for you, you can always carefully take it out, and you will still have a perfectly good Saltwater Slip dress.

You know that I would go for the Pleiades dress. I love that pattern, it gives me shape, it curves from bust to hip and hides my big waist. Nothing hides my big bum. Hacking, I am sure that you could easily do it, if you choose that route. I look forward to seeing the result. Ps. I have used 2 subscription fabrics in the last week and hope to use another this weekend. My stash is still growing faster than I am using it though. 😂

This might be just on me because I am small busted, but I find any pattern with the under seam line like in the Pleiades dress doesn’t look good on me. I would make the Kew dress you showed as you would get more wear out of it.
