@Qween Jahsie Oh! No baby! NO! Please don't say that. We just have to help women understand to always preface what they say instead. But please do not muzzle us anymore. We need to share our stories, it's the only way our daughters are going to avoid falling into those traps. The men's games are too tight & well refined over the centuries. We need time to figure out how to protect the next generations of girls. Young girls don't listen to their mothers, because they've been encouraged to see their mothers as competition. So our lonely voices on the internet is their only chance. Men are relentless & busy conquering & what are we doing? What have we got besides this brand new ability to share our experiences in real time, in a way that previous generations never could. We have to speak the truth before they will shut us down, because they will silence us again.

My ex husband wanted me to want to stay home with future kids… 1 child, a grad school degree with an almost 20 year career, and a divorce later. He’s PISSED that I’m not financially destitute without him. He hates that I can afford a household, travel, and to treat his son like a prince without him. He HATES that my son loves living in my household without him. He also hates that I’m doing all this without a partner. I LOVE living my life as an unattached single woman. My son is an only child and we remain connected to my family and his friends to give him the best childhood experience. You’d need to pay me A LOT of money to get married again.

What I learned is to never tell a woman to leave her man. That's her business and the minute they get back together, you are the mean, bitter, single feminist friend. I will listen to my friends complain but i'm not offering any advice or talking about the man even if i hate him. A lot of the time it's fake news and they will go right back to their household of a 100k income, in comfort, and post their christmas pics bragging about being together for years. I actually had to ask someone to stop telling me how bad marriage is and told her the reality of all her privileges in society being a married woman. Overall, I mind my business over here and work on myself lol. I am by no means saying being married is easy as a woman because I see it is not. But there are a lot of social and financial benefits to marriage-- and the truth is-- many women are not raised to be sure of themselves enough to be single, self-sustained adults for an extended amount of time. The pressure and sh*t talking gets into their heads causing a lot of depression for single women.

@@devoutmisanthrope5687 I think putting an abuser on blast to the public is extremely dangerous and not effective at all in getting the victim out of that situation. Once the abuser has been exposed they have lost control and that's all that matters to them. Once they have nothing to lose they will retaliate at the victim. Best advice I'd give to a victim as someone who did counselling at a crisis center is to document everything and get an escape plan going. Tell your trusted people what's going on but please don't let the abuser know what's going on. Once you've escaped take your evidence to the police. Stay offline. If you post anything online about your abuser they can use this against you in litigation.

This is why women have had to be silent over the years. It's very complicated for us. Especially because of the children. The reason why men want kids & marriage is exactly for this reason here. Because they know the woman will think twice before talking or leaving. The burden men put on women is just unbelievable. You sink them, they take you down with them. It's not easy!

This is why they try to cat-shamed women who prefer being single. Because they have nobody to take care of them. Men are much more scared to die alone than women. So they project their own insecurity on us. Since more and more women are leaving marriage, they try to guilt us that nobody will date a divorced woman or single mother.

@Bri-nc8yp

@@sarkie3927 Huh, so you never think your ever gonna be sick and can’t work? Do you think you will always have your health? It’s great to have your partner there when life happens. And life happens for all of us. EDIT: That’s why you let GOD give you a spouse. A KIND man. There is a difference of being KIND vs being nice. A man could be nice but he’s not kind. But too many women marry a man who it’s clear doesn’t even like them much less love them then wonder why in your time of need he abandons you. He never cared for you in the first place but you ignored the red flags 🚩 and still married him just to say your married. If your partner leaving you while your sick know that YOU picked that man not GOD. That’s not the person God intended for you but you put your life in your own hands because he checks certain boxes on your superficial list. Then you wonder why you got the man you got. I seen men in my church grow closer to their wives in their time of sickness. I seen one in particular care for his wife: drive her to all her appointments make her meals and fed her. He did everything to take care of her while she was dying of pancreatic cancer that came out of nowhere. I’m sure as she was dying she was happy she had her husband who was stead fast and devoted to her. I also work in healthcare and seen older men come day in and day out to care for their wives with dementia. To the person who said build your own community and not depend on one person. A Godly spouse can’t compare with your mom/dad Aunt/uncle grandma/grandpa friend/sibling Everyone meant to play a different role in your life. The Bible says to leave your parents and cleave to your wife and no one else. To the person who mention having to care for a husband while he sick what’s wrong with that? God FORBID you have to actually lay aside your selfish desire to care for another human being. “OH the HORROR my life should always be about ME ME ME!!! MY WILL BE DONE” Not only is that a selfish way of thinking it’s also demonic. You forget That’s what marriage is about. Two people being ONE FLESH. BOTH submitting to God and each other. It’s a beautiful thing to see in person. A lot of you are OUT of order. That’s not God design.

That’s the reality for MOST wives. And if we had more elders keeping it 💯 about what marriage is really like, young women would be picking husbands/partners based on more than just “love”. It certainly isn’t all about money, but the older I get the more I realize that the women described as “gold diggers” have a much more realistic view of men and their behavior. Because the truth is there are plenty of women going through this who work FT as well.

@@dlc2479 Girl- women of all races have been arguing about this stuff for generations. Our mothers got divorced, our grandmothers suffered in silence, or poisoned them lol, our great grandmothers…etc. Women of every background talk about this stuff. Do I want it to happen? No. Are there faithful men? Yes. Do you have to stay if it happens? No. But life be life-ing. When you’re young and in love at 25…things can change 10, 15, 20 years down the line. Things you didn’t imagine or expect can occur. The truth is we all get old one day, and unless you have a community/home filled with other older people and you’re all there for each other forever, you will need someone- a partner in this life who will be there for you and support you and care for you during life’s tough times. I’m just saying a lot of us weren’t taught to look at the big picture. Everyone isn’t miserable, but, as evidenced in this video, even some of the miserable ones find their situations better than that of women doing it all alone. When older women are completely honest, you find young women who are better able to select actual nice guys because they’re taught which qualities/traits to look for. They understand how important it is to align themselves with an actual provider and know how to put his resources to use to better their station in life (while married). They understand a man’s purpose in a woman’s life, and how to move if that man was isn’t fulfilling his end of the deal. What I’m ultimately saying is when we are taught to move strategically- not just off of love- we tend to fare better in the relationship world. Avoiding love and companionship because someone may cheat is kind of sad. I just think it’s better to be realistic about what could possibly happen and be prepared as opposed to avoiding partnership altogether.

She also helped my older brother be a traditional man too, because he’s in a nice upper middle class marriage with his fully b l a c k wife who’s a nurse. I have my degree, quit my job after the wedding. I pretended to look for a job for two years. My husband believed me and told me he loved me being at home. I control the finances, so knew we could afford and had a couple of babies every thing is still great. Got a trainer, chef and now a MUA. Im working part time less than 20hrs at a dream job from networking with other moms. My husband has also met husbands that have helped move his career along. Chrissie really hit it right on the head. IMO modern feminism only really benefits WW that are "othered" by their own community -- gay, non-binary, fat, ugly, non-select by WM. Those are the ones that are loudest about it but now with this modern era it's convinced a lot of WW that actually benefit from white supremacy/ white patriarchy that they have to fight the power too. A lot of them are bored and just want a slightly better position in white patriarchy and some get too full of themselves like the lady in this video and it messes their standing LOL. 55% of voting WW voted for Trump in 2020. They can do all this warring if they want but the system benefits them more than it does anyone non-white and the ones that aren't getting caught up in modern feminism know it too. A lot of WW "fighting the power" is just like how it is in this video. They'll bicker about it but then if shifts, they run back crying. That's my cultural observation.

We grew up knowing we have to have back up plans, jobs, careers, a paycheck because we can’t always depend on our men. That’s why black women are the most educated demographic with the most college degrees in the US. We know. My husband makes well over six figures as do I, but I will never a day be on this earth without a paycheck with MY OWN NAME on it… I learned that from my mother. @@chanson8508 That’s all I was trying to say. Every woman isn’t miserable when she understands human nature and how to operate to get exact what she wants out of life. There’s a reason men dislike cold, calculating women. Because they know those women will use reason and logic over emotion at every turn. Do I go crazy when I find out my man went to the strip club during a work trip, or arrange my own “trip” when he next leaves town? Or do I spend a chunk of change on some courses “for fun” that will allow me to learn a skill and make good money while I quietly plan my exit? Etc. Sooooo many ways we can move, but these are things that are usually taught to us by women who came before us. As I said, not all of these married women are miserable. They see marriage as an institution and use it to make moves. Yes love, fidelity and trust are important, but if parents, friends, family, etc can disappoint you, why do you think a husband can’t possibly disappoint you?! Lmao This is why you marry for more than love so that there are other things in place when he DOES disappoint you.

Even though they had the support of the family it was still hard. And I told my mother I don’t want to have kids and she was perfectly fine with it and supported me on it, because they know the struggle of it. Even if you have a husband there’s still a chance he could leave and you would still end up a single mother.

I gotta say, this comment section has been a little disappointing. If you want to be married, great, choose the right partner for the job. If you want to be single and/or child free, great, live your life accordingly. Regardless, every choice you make has its pros and cons no matter what, and I wish we could have more comprehensive views on whatever lifestyles ppl choose. I know Chrissie is, esp in the second half, but many sure aren't getting the memo. Stop allowing these clearly embittered ppl (whether they're SAHMs or unhappily married women) to dictate and motivate YOUR life choices. As she mentioned, it's such a trend now to try to "relate" to ppl by constantly complaining about your life. Be aware, be prepared, but you don't have to internalize their b.s lives.

I’ve watched her interviews about her marriage and she’s just talking about the reality of marriage and also I think for people to stop idealizing her marriage to Barack bcos they/she had to go thru ups and downs to get to what people currently perceive their marriage to be.

I used her as an example because black women on Twitter and elsewhere are using her to promote the idea that single motherhood, hypogamy etc. are better options than marriage and hypergamy. Statistically that is false so it’s actually them taking what she’s saying to the extreme. I agree that the reality of marriage should be discussed but I still think some married women complain and pander to single mothers especially when they would never trade places with them. Black women especially need to realize this and move accordingly.

I’m only a couple minutes in….what did this woman think was going to come of her putting her cheating husband on blast? People really lose all kinds of common sense when it comes to the internet. 🥴Obviously she’s not responsible for his bad behavior, but she didn’t know that online people exist in the real world? She didn’t know people will go after him or his job lol? I’m a fully sahm. We are also a one income family (for now). It is risky to depend on a man, but of course some are riskier than others lol. I see too many women that are also in my position, but feel trapped and miserable. Something I’m always telling these women is to stand up for themselves when they have a partner that is unhelpful, unsupportive, neglectful, etc. To stop myself from writing an essay, I’ll wrap this up by saying if you’re already a mom and/or coupled up, if there’s something you don’t like you’ll have to make a move to change it. For the ladies that choose to stay single or be childfree - I totally get it. Enjoy your freedom lol. I love my family, but there’s something special in having the ability to prioritize yourself and not be responsible for others.

This is why cultivating relationships outside of romantic ones is very important. Women are given this idea that your strongest ally will be your partner when a lot of times, throughout a lifetime, you cultivate longer and deeper relationships with your family and friends. Yet you’re encouraged to trust a stranger that could stay a little and cause a lot of damage. Time and time I see women distance themselves from friends and family because they focus their time and affection to a partner only to come back later with health and emotional problems that their support system has to help clean up, only to do it again. That’s why I’m not sure I agree with the phrase ‘if you won’t leave them hush’ because it encourages isolation, I would say ‘if you feel embarrassed to talk about it to someone you trust, it’s a sign to leave’.

In a country with no social safety net, it’s a real punishment. This doesn’t happen in places where losing your job isn’t a big deal. That’s something Americans can’t imagine. Even their healthcare is tied to work, which is unimaginable in lots of countries. And in those places, women are far less dependent. Lose your job? Big deal. The state (your community) steps right in to take care of you and your children.

Like everyone just wants to "own" the other side and go "see, single feminists are all desperately unhappy!" or "see, married mothers all regret their choices!" There's a lot more nuance than people are comfortable admitting. Probably they aren't happy with their own lives and are trying to prove that everyone else is just as unhappy as they are to make themselves feel better. Case in point is Pearly Things, she's so wildly unhappy that all she can do is attack other women.
